ZAINOEL ABIDIN BANDA ACEHABSTRAKKomunikasi handover menjadi perhatian penting dalam upaya pelaksanaan patient safety (keselamatan pasien) serta standar akreditasi rumah sakit. WHO merekomendasikan teknik komunikasi efektif antar perawat di rumah sakit mengacu pada Situation, Background, Assesment, Recommendation (SBAR). Dalam pelaksanaan komunikasi SBAR saat handover membutuhkan motivasi perawat baik motivasi intrinsik maupun motivasi ekstrinsik sehingga pelaksanaan asuhan keperawatan yang berkelanjutan memiliki mutu yang tinggi serta meningkatkan keamanan pasien. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui gambaran motivasi perawat pelaksana tentang teknik komunikasi SBAR di ruang rawat inap Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah dr. Zainoel Abidin Banda Aceh. Jenis penelitian deskriptif eksploratif dengan desain cross sectional study. Populasi dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 141 perawat pelaksana. Teknik pengambilan sampel pada penelitian ini menggunakan simple random sampling dengan jumlah sampel 65 perawat pelaksana. Alat ukur dan metode pengumpulan data berbentuk kuesioner. Hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa motivasi perawat pelaksana tentang teknik komunikasi SBAR di ruang rawat inap Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah dr. Zainoel Abidin secara umum berada pada kategori tinggi yaitu 41 orang (63,1%) dimana motivasi intrinsik berada pada kategori tinggi yaitu 52 orang (80,0%), dan motivasi ekstrinsik juga berada pada kategori tinggi yaitu 52 orang (80,0%). WHO recommend an effective technique of communication between nurses at hospital which are pointed to aspects of Situation, Background, Assessment, Recommendation (SBAR). In applying SBAR communication during handover, motivation of nurses, both intrinsic and extrinsic motivation, are required to confirm the continual treatment of patients is in high quality and improve the patient safety. The purpose of this study was to identify the motivation of nurses in applying communication technique of SBAR at ward of dr. Zainoel Abidin Hospital Banda Aceh. The design of this study was explorative descriptive with cross sectional study approach. The population in this research was 141 nurses. Sampling technique that was used was simple random sampling with the total sample of 65 nurses. Questionnaire was used as instrument for data collection. It can be concluded from the result that the motivation of nurses in applying communication technique of SBAR at ward of dr. Zainoel Abidin Hospital Banda Aceh was generally in high category that were 41 people (63,1%).
