PENILAIAN SKOR MEMORI JANGKA PENDEK PADA PASIEN EPILEPSI ANAK YANG MENDAPATKAN MONOTERAPI ASAM VALPROATE

ABSTRACTCognitive processing speed depends on the degree of activation of short-term memory. Currently the most commonly used drug for child epilepsy patients is valproic acid. The purpose of this study was to determine the short-term memory scores in children with epilepsy patients who receive valproic acid monotherapy. The sample used was epileptic patients who went to the Children's Clinic and Social Pediatrics in Banda Aceh RSUDZA with the sampling technique using a consecutive sampling method were 35 respondents. The results indicate short-term memory impairments in children with epilepsy patients who received valproic acid monotherapy were 11 (31.4%) persons. Group of the most experienced short-term memory impairment is a long time consuming valproic acid group 1 year is still below the mean score of short-term memory in this study showed valproic acid is still has potency to cause short-term memory impairment.Keyword: short-term memory, epilepsy, children, valproic acid. ABSTRAKKecepatan proses kognitif bergantung dari derajat aktivasi memori jangka pendek. Saat ini obat yang paling sering digunakan untuk pasien epilepsi anak adalah asam valproat. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui skor memori jangka pendek pada pasien epilepsi anak yang mendapatkan monoterapi asam valproat. Sampel yang digunakan adalah pasien epilepsi yang berobat ke Poliklinik Anak dan Pediatrik Sosial di RSUDZA Banda Aceh dengan teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan metode consecutive sampling sebanyak 35 responden. Hasil menunjukkan gangguan memori jangka pendek pada pasien epilepsi anak yang mendapatkan monoterapi asam valproat sebanyak 11 orang (31,4%). Kelompok yang paling banyak mengalami gangguan memori jangka pendek adalah kelompok lama mengkonsumsi asam valproat 1 tahun masih di bawah mean skor memori jangka pendek pada penelitian ini menunjukkan asam valproat masih berpotensi menimbulkan gangguan memori jangka pendek.Kata kunci: memori jangka pendek, epilepsi, anak, asam valproat
