The prevalence of mental disorders according to PPDGJ III is the most anxiety, 14% of the population, the ratio between females and males 2:1. Pregnant women before delivery is experiencing severe anxiety can lead to her during labor difficulties. This study aims to determine the factors that influence anxiety in pregnant women before delivery at the clinic of obstetrics RSUDZA Banda Aceh. The subject of this study were primigravida and multigravida pregnant women with 28-40 weeks and not content to have comorbidities The study design was observational analytic approach to Cross sectional survey. The scale of maternal anxiety refers to anxiety Hamilton Rating Scale (HARS). Data was collected on December 5th, 2011 to January 5th, 2012 with 90 respondents. Analysis of the data used is the chi-square test. From the result showed 61 respondents (67.8%) had severed anxiety, 11 respondents (12.2%) had moderate anxiety , and 18 respondents (20%) had mild anxiety. Variables related to the anxiety of pregnant women before delivery gravida (p = 0.025), age (p = 0.001), level of education (p = 0.044), occupation (p = 0.017), income (p = 0.013), the closest companion (p = 0.006) and pregnancy status (p = 0.028) concluded that there is a relationship between the gravida, age, education level, occupation, income, the closest companion to anxiety and pregnancy status of pregnant women in labor mejelang obstetrics clinic RSUDZA Banda Aceh.Key words: anxiety, pregnant women, childbirth
