HUBUNGAN ANEMIA DAN KARAKTERISTIK IBU HAMIL DENGAN BAYI BERAT LAHIR RENDAH DI KAMAR BERSALIN RSUD DR. ZAINOEL ABIDIN BANDA ACEH

PREGNANCY - HUMAN PHYSIOLOGY

Low Birth Weight Baby (LBW), is one of the main factor in increasing mortality, morbidity and disability in neonatus. Patient with anemia in Aceh Province 2007 as 82.794 and be found LBW from 109.183 pregnant women. This research is a deskriptive analytic study with cross sectional design where the objective of researchers to look at relationships and characteristic of anemia pregnant women with LBW in the dr. Zainoel Abidin hospital Banda Aceh. The population of this research was pregnant women who gave birth in the delivery room and selected by samples Accidental Sampling in pregnant women with gestational age > 36-40 weeks from January to February which amount to 47 samples. The analysis used univariate and bivariate analysis was with Chi-Square Test and Fisher Exact Test. The results showed that 12.8% of pregnant women gave birth LBW babies. The results of bivariate analysis showed that there was no association between anemia (p = 0.317), parity (p = 0.085), education (p = 0.241) and occupation (p = 0.343) with LBW. Whereas age (p = 0.00, PR = 10.7, 95% CI = 3.14 to 36.7, ? = 0,05) there is a relationship with LBW. Pregnant women are advised to consult regularly and to consume iron tablets to preventing anemia and LBW babies. Suggestion for dr. Zainoel Abidin hospital are expected to do the counseling and health promotion to increase the knowledge of mothers regarding importance of antenatal care as early detection preventing to LBW babies.Keyword : LBW, pregnant women, anemia
