ABSTRACTTesticular torsion can have an impact on the contralateral testis. Antioxidant therapyis one of option therapy after testicular torsion. One of the antioxidan is curcumin.The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of turmeric extract (Curcumadomestica Val.) on Sertoli cell morphology and number of contralateral testis aftertesticular torsion in rats (Rattus norvegicus). This study used a completelyrandomized design (RAL) consisting of 30 white Wistar male rats and divided into 3groups: control group (KO), the treated group P1 torque of 3600 for 4 hours to themedial and given a turmeric extract as much as 50 mg/kg body weight/day orally in asingle dose administered every day for 30 days and P2 groups were given the sametreatment but were not given the extract of turmeric.
