It can be seen that many internet cafes are always full of youngsters who sit in front of the computer screen and spend their time playing online games. As a result, they become less interest inlearning activities, where it negatively affects adolescent the cognitive development.The purposeof this study was to determine the relationship between the addicted behaviour to online game and the cognitive development of teenagersat State Junior High School (SMP Negeri) 8 Banda Aceh in 2013. It was descriptive correlative study by using the proportional stratified random sampling technique of 61 respondents. Questionnaire technique and report grades was used to collect the data. The data were analysed by using the chi-square test. The results ofthe bivariate analysis showed that there wasa relationship between the addicted behavior to online game and the cognitive development of the youngsters(p-value 0.014).There was also a relationship between the aspects of salience and the cognitive developmentof the adolescent (p-value 0.008), there was a relationship between aspects of mood modification and the adolescent cognitive development (p-value0.002), there was a relationship between aspects of tolerance to the cognitive development of adolescents (p-value 0.039), there was a relationship between aspects of withdrawal symptoms and the adolescent cognitive development(p-value 0.027), there was a relationship between aspects of the conflict and the adolescent cognitive development (p-value0.010) of students at the Junior High School (SMP Negeri) 8 Banda Aceh.
