HUBUNGAN KECERDASAN EMOSIONAL TERHADAP PERILAKU AGRESI PADA SISWA DAN SISWI RNKELAS XI SMAN 4 BANDA ACEH

ABSTRACTLow emotional intelligence will make individuals prone to aggressive behavior. The purpose of this study was to ascertain whether or not the relationship of emotional intelligence on aggressive behavior in male and female students of class XI of SMAN 4 Banda Aceh. This type of research is an analytical study using cross-sectional design. The samples used were male and female students of class XI of SMAN 4 Banda Aceh with the sampling technique using total sampling as many as 245 respondents. Emotional intelligence scale data were analyzed descriptively to find the relationship of emotional intelligence to aggressive behavior. The results showed the sample of 245 studies found that there were 34 respondents (52.3%) having a low emotional intelligence with a positive aggressive behavior while there were 31 respondents (47.7%) having a low emotional intelligence without aggressive behavior. There are also 9 respondents (5%) who have high emotional intelligence with aggressive behavior and there are 171 respondents (95%) who have high emotional intelligence without aggressive behavior so obtained from the chi-square test with p value of 0.000 smaller from the level of significance (p
