Description

ABSTRACTEffect of mulch and Concentration DI Grow Organic Liquid Fertilizer on Plant Growth and Yield of Hot Pepper (Capsicum annuum L.). This study aims to determine the effect of mulch and concentration of liquid organic fertilizer DI Grow on growth and yield of pepper plants. In addition, to determine whether there is interaction between the two factors. The experiment was conducted at the Faculty of Agriculture Experiment garden UNSYIAH Darussalam Banda Aceh on 1 January up to April 9, 2012. The experimental design used in this study was a randomized block design with a 2 x 4 factorial with three replications. There are two factors studied were composed of mulch factor without mulch, plastic mulch and fertilizer concentration factor consisting of a control, 2.5 ml / L of water, 5 ml / L of water and 7.5 ml / L. The parameters measured were plant height and stem diameter at 15, 30 and 45 days after planting, the number of fruits per plant, fruit weight per plant, fruit diameter per plant and yield potential. The results showed that the mulch very significant effect on plant height 30 days after planting, and significant effect on stem diameter at 15 and 30 days after planting, but did not significantly affect plant height at 15 and 45 days after planting, stem diameter between 45 days after planting, the number of fruits per plant, fruit weight per plant and fruit diameter per plant. Growth and yield of pepper plants were more likely to be found in both the treatment without mulch. Concentration of Liquid Organic Fertilizer DI Grow is not a real effect on plant height and stem diameter at 15, 30 and 45 DAT, the number of fruits per plant, fruit weight per plant, fruit diameter per plant and the potential yield of pepper plants. Growth and yield of pepper plants tends to be better seen in 7.5 ml / L of water. There is no real interaction between mulch treatments with concentrations of DI Grow liquid organic fertilizer for all the observed variables on the growth and yield of pepper plants.
