Brastepu) free from citrus vein phloem degeneration (CVPD) is explained in this research. The method is conducted by using a diseased plant and is then propagated in optimum conditions. The research is conduted in Tissue Culture Laboratory Department of Biology, University of North Sumatra, Indonesia. Optimum conditions for citrus propagation have been obtained to produce good quality of Citrus seedlings that is free from CVPD. The analysis of the DNA using PCR method has confirmed that the seedlings are healthy and free from CVPD. Adsorption process of the dye into the cavities of the TiO2 layer was conducted by electrophoresis technique. As results, two DSSCs prepared by the slip casting and electrophoresis methods were successfully realized and tested. In case of DSSC based on electrophoresis method, XRD results show the appearance of MgO on TiO2 layer, which is probably caused by the addition of salt Mg(NO3)2 in the electrophoresis solution. Therefore, electrophoresis condition without the addition of salt needs to be investigated in the next research. It is found that the electrophoresis method can be used in the process of dye adsorption into the TiO2 layer. The electrophoresis with larger voltage results in the larger DSSC output. It is also seen that open circuit voltage for the slip casting-based DSSC is found to be greater than that for the electrophoresis-based one. This may be due to the larger size of the pores in TiO2 layer for the slip casting process compared to that for the electrophoresis process. Dalam penelitian ini, cangkang kerang menjadi bahan baku pembuatan keramik karena mengandung CaCO3 yang tinggi, yaitu 96-98%. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa pengaruh variasi konsentrasi CuO ke dalam keramik berbasis serbuk cangkang kerang dan menganalisa pengaruh jenis cangkang kerang yang digunakan terhadap sifat listrik dan sifat termalnya. Konsentrasi CuO divariasikan dari 0% hingga 10% berbasis persen berat. Pada penelitian ini, terlebih dahulu dilakukan penelitian awal untuk mendapatkan sampel yang paling ideal yang kemudian dapat diuji nilai konduktivitas listrik dan termalnya. Berdasarkan penelitian awal, didapatkan bahwa keramik berbasis cangkang kerang yang diperoleh tidak dapat bertahan pada temperatur diatas 600?C. Nilai konduktivitas listrik dan termal yang paling optimum didapatkan pada sampel keramik dengan bahan dasar cangkang Lokan putih yang ditambah 8%CuO yaitu 2,17 x 10-7 (S/cm) dan 0,9977 (W/m?C). Data menunjukkan kecenderungan naiknya konduktivitas listrik dan termal dengan peningkatan konsentrasi CuO. Berdasarkan nilai konduktivitas listriknya, sampel keramik yang dihasilkan termasuk ke dalam material semikonduktor, dan nilai konduktivitas termalnya lebih tinggi daripada nilai konduktivitas kaca. Material semikonduktor sangat berguna dalam bidang elektronika, karena konduktansinya yang dapat diubah-ubah dengan melakukan doping dengan material lain. Secara umum, prospek penggunaan material ini adalah sebagai buffer pendingin pada perangkat elektronik bersuhu tinggi seperti prosesor komputer. Dalam bentuk lapisan tipis, material ini dapat menjadi salah satu bahan semikonduktor alternatif. Dari hasil XRD dapat dilihat bahwa senyawa utama penyusun sampel keramik adalah CaCO3. Gangguan pendengaran yang terjadi dapat bervariasi dan beratnya ketulian dipengaruhi oleh OMSK dan lamanya sakit. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode cross sectional study di Poliklinik THT-KL RSUD dr.Zainoel Abidin Banda Aceh, secara non probability sampling dengan teknik accidental sampling, mulai bulan Februari sampai April 2012. Dilakukan pemeriksaan THT dan audiometri nada murni terhadap penderita OMSK untuk menentukan jenis dan derajat ketuliannya. Dari 45 sampel, penderita yang lama menderita OMSK < 1 tahun sebanyak 26 penderita (57,8%), dan > 1 tahun sebanyak 19 penderita (42,2%). Jenis gangguan pendengaran konduktif sebanyak 30 penderita (66,7%), campuran sebanyak 10 penderita (22,2%) dan sensorineural sebanyak 5 penderita (11,1%). Penderita OMSK yang mengalami gangguan pendengaran derajat terbanyak adalah derajat sedang sebanyak 16 penderita (35,56%) kemudian derajat ringan sebanyak 12 penderita (26,66%), derajat sedang berat sebanyak 9 penderita (20%), berat sebanyak 6 penderita (13,34%), dan sangat berat sebanyak 2 penderita (4,44%).
