Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar dan motivasi siswa melalui penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TAI (Team Assisted Individualization) pada materi Plantae (Lumut) di SMA Negeri 1 Banda Aceh. Pendekatan penelitian adalah kuantitatif dan kualitatif, dan jenis penelitian eksperimen. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas X IPA SMA Negeri 1 Banda Aceh terdiri dari 4 kelas yang berjumlah 148 siswa. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X IPA 3 sebagai kelas eksperimen yang diajarkan dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TAI (Team Assisted Individualization) dan kelas X IPA 4 sebagai kelas kontrol yang diajarkan dengan metode konvensional (ceramah dan diskusi). Parameter dalam penelitian ini adalah hasil belajar siswa yang diukur dengan test dan motivasi siswa yang dikumpulkan dengan angket. Pengolahan data dilakukan uji-t dengan taraf signifikan ? = 0,05. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata hasil belajar siswa kelas kontrol adalah 76,17 dan kelas eksperimen yaitu 81,55. Hasil Uji-t diperoleh harga thitung > ttabel yaitu 8.91 > 1,67, sehingga dapat disimpulkan terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TAI (Team Assisted Individualization) terhadap hasil belajar dan motivasi siswa. Adapun Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI IA MAN Rukoh Banda Aceh yang berjumlah 72 siswa. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik random sampling yaitu pengambilan sampel secara acak. Sampel pada penelitian ini yaitu kelas XI IA 3 sebagai kelas eksperimen yang diajarkan dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe two stay two stray berjumlah 25 siswa dan kelas XI IA 2 sebagai kelas kontrol yang berjumlah 24 siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dan jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian eksperimen. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui tes. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan analisis data diperoleh pengujian hipotesis pada taraf signifikan 5% (? = 0,05), dk = 43, diperoleh thitung = 2,19 dan ttabel = 1,68, dengan demikian thitung > ttabel yaitu 2,19 > 1,68. Maka, hipotesis nihil (H0) ditolak dan hipotesis alternative (Ha) diterima.
