Kandidiasis adalah penyakit jaringan lunak dalam rongga mulut yang disebabkan oleh golongan jamur yaitu Candida albicans. Berbagai penelitian dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk menemukan bahan terapi yang aman untuk mencegah terjadinya kandidiasis, salah satunya adalah dengan menggali potensi tanaman herbal seperti buah jamblang (Syzygium cumini). Buah jamblang berpotensi mencegah kandidiasis karena tanaman ini memiliki efek farmakologik yaitu sebagai antifungi. Oleh karena itu tujuan dilakukan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh ekstrak buah jamblang (Syzygium cumini) terhadap pertumbuhan Candida albicans. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan cara menguji ekstrak buah jamblang (Syzygium cumini) yang diekstraksi dengan menggunakan alkohol 96% pada konsentrasi 25% sampai dengan 100%. Pertumbuhan koloni Candida albicans hasil uji dihitung dengan menggunakan metode perhitungan koloni (Plate Count Counter). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak buah jamblang (Syzygium cumini) menghambat pertumbuhan Candida albicans. Konsentrasi minimum ekstrak buah jamblang (Syzygium cumini) dapat menghambat pertumbuhan Candida albicans adalah 25%, sedangkan konsentrasi maksimum adalah 100%. Adanya hambatan pertumbuhan diduga karena buah jamblang (Syzygium cumini) yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini mengandung minyak atsiri dan senyawa fenol yaitu flavonoid. Buah pepaya (Carica papaya L.) memiliki aktivitas farmakologis seperti antibakteri, antifungal, antiinflamasi, antimalaria, antihelmintik, dan juga sebagai antifertilitas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh ekstrak buah pepaya (Carica papaya L.) terhadap durasi perdarahan tikus Wistar (Rattus norvegicus). Penelitian eksperimental laboratoris ini menggunakan 10 ekor tikus Wistar (Rattus norvegicus) jantan dengan berat rata-rata 200-300 gram dan usia 8-12 minggu yang dibagi menjadi 2 kelompok, yaitu 5 ekor pada kelompok kontrol yang diberi perlakuan akuades setelah dibuat perlukaan pada ekor tikus dan 5 ekor pada kelompok perlakuan yang diberi ekstrak buah pepaya (Carica papaya L.). Durasi perdarahan diukur dengan menggunakan chronometer (Q&Q 1/100 Chrono) dimulai dari detik terjadinya perdarahan sampai darah berhenti keluar dari luka ekor tikus.
