This experimental research used random sampling and random assignment to determine the control group (CG) and the experimental group (EG). Pre- tests, treatment or teaching and post-tests were done to both groups. The study was conducted with 60 second year students from a junior high school in Banda Aceh, Indonesia. Students’ mean scores for the pre-test in the CG were 40.76 and 60.76 for the post-test, meanwhile students’ mean scores for the pre-test in the EG were 40 and 72.69 for the post-test. Thus, the t-test between both groups was 9.39 and the t-table was 2.056 which used 0.05 as the level of significance for this research. Because the t-test value was higher than the t-table (9.39 > 2.056), Ha was accepted and Ho was rejected. Therefore, the CIRC technique can improve the content and organization of students’ writing in doing recount texts. In addition, because students work in groups, they have more opportunity to learn and share their ideas with other students to produce better writing. Four sampling sites were selected (Teluk Bahang, Teluk Aling, Teluk Ketapang and Pantai Acheh) based on difference human activities in surrounding coastal waters of Penang National Park. Sampling activities were done starting at 200 m from the subtidal shoreline until 1200 m offshore. A total of 432 benthos samples were collected using 6’ X 6’ Ponar grab. From this study, 25 species from 21 families and 25 genera were identified. Particle size analysis was done and revealed Penang National Park coastal waters is a muddy area with more than 80% of the sediment samples diagnosed as mud. Whereas, in Teluk Bahang and Teluk Aling, the starting transects (200 m to 400 m) were consisted mixture of particle size but the proportion of particle size gradually changed to mud towards the shore. Based on Pearson’s Correlation, it was found that Nuculanidae, Megastomia sp., and Timoclea sp. showed positive correlations with sandy particles (1000 ;m-250 ;m) with r values ranging 0.88 to 0.96 at p<0.01. The density of benthic molluscs was found highest in Teluk Bahang followed by Teluk Aling, Teluk Ketapang and Pantai Acheh with overall mean value 613.6 molluscs/m2. Water demand continues to increase as the population growth, while the availability of water is not always consistent with the needs in terms of volume, place, time and its quality. Tank based hydrological models have been developed in many researches in Indonesia and in the world to predict the potential of water resources in a watershed. The optimalization of tank model parameter could be performed by using Artificial Neural Network (ANN), which has the capability to review the data and does not need much time to reach its optimized model. The purpose of this analysis is to determine the extent of a water resource potential in the Singkil Watershed based on the optimalization of Tank model parameter. Results of the optimalization of water balance of tank model parameter in Singkil Watershed include: hydrology characteristics of Singkil Watershed consisting of minimum debit of 3.60 mm/day, maximum debit 17.80 mm/day, and ratio of maximum/minimum debit is 4.94. Error indicators of Tank model in Singkil Watershed include Coefficient of Correlation (R), which is 0.6471, Mean Absolute Error (MAE) and Root Square Mean Error (RMSE), which are 2.18 and 2.73, respectively. Several parameters obtained include total inflow (3,189.48 mm/year) and total outflow (3,155.64 mm/year) consisting of surface flow 11.75 mm/year, subsurface flow (669.84 mm/year), intermediate flow (62.05 mm/year), sub-base flow (0.74 mm/year), and base flow (2,411.26 mm/year). Based on the total base flow, the total volume of water availability flowing in Singkil River reaches 12,164 x 106 m3/year. The terrace development for soil and water conservation often experience the failure such as landslide, like some agriculture farm in Sub-District Banjarwangi, regency of Garut. Considering this problem, it is required to conduct research and analysis on slope stability, especially for the slope with bench terrace. Slope stability is determined by the slope morphology, soil physically and mechanical properties. This research aims to determined the slope stability at a farmland made by terrace, and expected to give recommendation for planning water and soil conservation to avoid landslide. This research was to conducted in field, laboratory and with computer simulation. The triaxial test of soil taken I Mulyajaya village, Sub-District of Banjarwangi shows that at the mean density of 1.44 t m-3, the average effective cohesion is 0.15 kgf cm-2 and the average internal friction angel is 20.30 for natural condition. Actual terrace at the landslide location is initially stable (Fs = 1.22) and become unstable (Fs = 0.31) as the soil is nearly saturated with increase of soil water table due to rain. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan terbentuknya salient pada variasi pemecah gelombang lurus maupun zigzag dan susunan tunggal dan ganda terutama pada tinggi dan periode gelombang H3T3 serta lebar pemecah gelombang B2. Akibat penjalaran gelombang, terjadi pembentukan bar (gundukan pasir) dan cekungan/lembah yang terjadi di sekitar breakwater. Hasil erosi terbesar terjadi pada variasi gelombang H3T3 sebesar -17.678 cm3 pada kondisi tanpa breakwater.
