Procedural understanding is that task completion procedure can be given via a demonstration by the teacher. Assumed inductive learning strategies can improve conceptual understanding and procedural math students. This study was conducted to see the effect of inductive learning strategy to increase conceptual understanding and procedural mathematics student and it is a mixed method study. This study is a population that is all class XI IPA MAN Kuta Baro Aceh Besar, which consists of two classes. Obtain experimental class learning with inductive learning strategy and classroom learning gain control conventional. The research instrument consisted of conceptual understanding and procedural tests and interviews. Processing data by using SPSS, Microsoft Excel, t-test and Mann-Whitney test. Data processing results obtained: 1) there is no difference increased conceptual understanding of mathematics students who learn by inductive learning strategy and the learning with conventional learning, both in terms of overall student well in terms of student ratings of high, medium and low, 2) there is a difference increase in the  procedural understanding of mathematical students are learning with inductive learning strategy and the learning with conventional learning, both in terms of overall students and students from low ratings, but there is no difference in terms of improvement when students rank high and medium. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan penguasaan konsep dan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa melalui penerapan strategi pembelajaran inkuiri. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode eksperimen dengan desain penelitian pretes postes control group design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah keseluruhan siswa kelas VIII yang berjumlah 150 siswa, sampel penelitian sebanyak 60 orang siswa yang dibagi menjadi dua kelas, yaitu kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontro1. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tes objektif berbentuk pilihan ganda. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan memberikan tes kemampuan awal (pretes), tes kemampuan akhir (postes). Pengolahan data dilakukan dengan mencari gain yang ternorrnalisasi dan membandingkan antara kelas eksperimen dengan kelas kontrol. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji-t, Basil uji statistik penguasaan konsep siswa menunjukkan hasil dan untuk keterampilan berpikir kritis diperolch thiluog4,87 dengan nilai ttabel 1,645. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui (1) Peningkatan hasil belajar IPS Terpadu siswa kelas VIII-2 SMPN 1 Banda Aceh melalui penerapan strategi pembelajaran sepak bola verbal; (2) Aktivitas guru dan siswa dalam pembelajaran IPS Terpadu mencerminkan keterlaksanaan strategi pembelajaran sepak bola verbal (3) Keterampilan guru dalam mengelola pembelajaran melalui penerapan strategi pembelajaran sepak bola verbal; dan (4) Respon siswa terhadap pelaksanaan stategi pembelajaran sepak bola verbal. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII-2 SMPN 1 Banda Aceh yang berjumlah 25 siswa. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan tes hasil belajar siswa, lembar pengamatan aktivitas guru dan siswa, lembar pengamatan keterampilan guru dalam mengelola pembelajaran, dan angket respon siswa. Analisis data menggunakan statistik deskriptif persentase. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) Persentase ketuntasan secara individual meningkat dari siklus I hingga siklus II; (2) Aktivitas guru yang dominan adalah pada saat guru membagikan kelas menjadi dua tim, tiap-tiap tim memilih satu orang kapten yang membantu membagikan soal serta menggawasi jalannya pertandingan. Aktivitas siswa yang dominan adalah bergerak dan berkumpul membentuk kelompok serta menjawab soal dari masing-masing kartu soal; (3) Keterampilan guru dalam penerapan strategi pembelajaran sepak bola verbal meningkat dari sedang, menjadi baik; dan (4) Respon siswa menunjukan bahwa cara guru menyampaikan materi menggunakan cara yang baru, sehingga siswa memahami materi pelajaran yang baru diikuti, kemudian siswa menjawab menggenai komponen pembelajaran, materi yang dipelajari menarik, soal evaluasi yang digunakan baik, suasana kelas menyenangkan, dan penampilan guru menarik, serta siswa berminat untuk mengikuti pembelajaran dengan menerapkan strategi pembelajaran sepak bola verbal.
