<text>The inclusion of metals/alloys inside the pores of zeolite is of a great interest for developing composites with functional materials distributed in the intended fields. Zirconium-containing NaY5.7 zeolite samples with 1 wt% and 3 wt% metal loading were prepared using impregnation method. The starting material was commercial available NaY5.7 zeolite and zirconocene dichloride ((C5H5)2ZrCl2)as zirconium source and benzene as solvent. The characterization of samples was performed by X-ray diffraction (Rigaku RINT2000) using a Cu Kα radiation, nitrogen adsorption isotherms, hydrogen sorption isotherms and heats of sorption by a twin-conduction-type calorimeter (Tokyo Riko Co., Japan) equipped with a volumetric adsorption system at 298 K. The X-ray diffraction pattern reveals that the framework structure of zeolite is retained in the calcination condition performed and the metallic form of zirconium exists on zeolite particles. The nitrogen adsorption isotherm for the zirconium-containing NaY5.7 zeolite was similar to that for the untreated zeolite which indicates that Zr-NaY sample retains its structure even after the heat treatment at higher temperature. The hydrogen sorption on Zr-NaY5.7 zeolite was brought about by a combination of formation of solid solution inside zeolite pores and hydridation of zirconium species. The inclusion of zirconium inside the framework of NaY5.7 zeolite has increased the amount of occluded hydrogen on all synthesized samples. NaY5.7 zeolite itself could occlude hydrogen approximately 0.097 mmol H2/gr at low hydrogen pressure of 80 kPa. Zirconium-NaY5.7 zeolite system, which resided zirconium nanoparticles inside the pores of zeolite, could be one of alternative composites to be used for hydrogen sorbing materials providing water resistance.</text>

<text>One of the most promising materials for storing hydrogen in solid state would be included in metal-carbon composites. In order to obtain nanocrystalline metal particles encapsulated by crystalline or amorphous carbon, mechanosynthesis of zirconium-carbonaceous composites and alkali metal-carbonaceous composites was performed. For zirconium-carbonaceous composites, only zirconium-carbon black composite absorbed more hydrogen than expected for a mere mixture with the same composition. The higher hydrogen capacity on the zirconium-carbon black composite would be due to some specific sites on the carbonaceous material created during the milling. Another effect of the composite formation was stabilization of zirconium, that is, the composites did not ignite in air. On alkali metal-carbonaceous composites, carbon black has superior effect in composite formation compared with graphite in which some cooperative effect was only detected on alkali metal-carbon black composite. The effect of the carbonaceous composite formation was resistance to air and anti-sticking characteristics to balls and the wall of the vial during the ball milling.</text>

<text>Production of composites was done by mixing the filler and matrix. The common matrix used to produce composite is plastic ore with types of poly propylene, poly ethylene and others. To know the characteristics of composite boards made from recycled plastic type poly ethylene so this research was conducted. This research aims to create a composite board made of solid waste sawdust and straw as a filler and recycled plastics as the matrix and to find out more details of the influence of variable solid waste types and ratio of solid waste weight and plastic toward the quality of the composite board product. Composite board manufacturing process was carried out by hot press method at a temperature of 145 oC for 20 minutes. The composite board products are tested on value of hardness, tensile strength, and thermal value. The results showed that the use of sawdust as a filler resulted the composite hardness value that is better (R79,5) compared with straw (R67) at a ratio of filler composition: matrix of 80:20 respectively. The use of sawdust also gives the value of tensile strength of 6.86 MPa that is better than the using a straw that valued of 3.62 MPa at composition ratio of filler: to matrix (60:40). Largest amount of heat needed to melt the composite boards are 31.19 J/g and 14.02 J/g at composition ratio sawdust: recycled plastics of 80:20 and at composition ratio straw: recycled plastics of 80:20, respectively. Visually composite board with a composition of sawdust:plastic HDPE 50:50 looks better with bright colors and shiny. Keywords: Composite, Solid waste, Plastic, Matrix, Filler,  Poly ethylene</text>

<text>Research on biodiesel production from hazelnut oil by transesterification process using NaOH catalyst was one of the efforts for renewable energy research. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of NaOH catalyst and the ratio of hazelnut oil to methanol on the production of biodiesel via transesterification process. The transesterification process was carried out in a stirred reactor equipped by a condenser with speed of 200 rpm, temperature of 60°C and the operating time of 90 minutes. The results indicated that biodiesel could be produced from hazelnut oil through transesterification process with the highest yield of 81.7% that was obtained on the use of 2% wt. of NaOH catalyst and the mole ratio of oil to methanol of 1:9. Viscosity, density, and acid number of biodiesel obtained in this study met the Indonesia National Standard for biodiesel as SNI 04-7182-2006, therefore hazelnut oil produced biodiesel could potentially be an alternative diesel fuel. Keywords: hazelnut oil, biodiesel, transesterification, NaOH catalyst</text>

Theaim of study is to find the optimum condition of the type of used matrixs and the percentage of added coupling agent on the quality of the producedcomposites. Compositeswere prepared byhot press method. Hot press process was performed at a temperature of 150 oC for 30 minutes. After cooling to room temperature, the product was tested oftensile strength, bending strength, thermal test and FTIR. The results show thatcompositesprepared byvirgin HDPE have much betterphysical and mechanical properties compared to composites prepared by recycled HDPE. The highest tensile strength valueof 5.69 MPawas foundon composite withmatrix of virgin HDPE and addition of 4 wt% MAPE. While the highest bending strength valueof 0.35 Mpa was obtained oncomposite with matrix of recycled HDPE and addition of 2 wt% MAPE. The presence of a number of MAPE concentration in the mixture resulted in increased adhesion properties between rice husk and HDPE thereby increasing the physical mechanical properties of composites.</text>

<text>In this study, composites were made from source of recycled HDPE and rice husk as filler as well as addition of double coupling agent in order to improve mechanical properties of produced composites. The aim of this study is to know the effect of addition of double coupling agent of maleic anhydride (MA) and maleic anhydride polyethylene (MAPE) on quality of produced composites. In this research, the ratio of MA and MAPE that applied are 1:1; 1:2 and 2:1. The hot press method was used in order to form these composites. The composite formation process was perfomed at medium temperature of 170 oC for 30 minutes. After pressed manually and heated at these temperature later composite samples were cooled to room temperature naturally, and finally composites were tested to know its mechanical properties of tensile strength and bending strength as well as water absorption capacity. The results showed that the simultant addition of MA and MAPE as double coupling agent can improve the quality of the produced composites. The amount of MAPE that is added in MA coupling agent affected both the value of the tensile strength and bonding strength of the composites. The similar characterstics also occurred on property of water absorption on immersed composite. By addition of the MAPE and MA together then both coupling agents are increasing bonding adhesion between matrix and filler becomes stronger and tighter. The highest value of tensile strength of 5.75 MPa was obtained on the composite ratio of MA:MAPE= 1:2. While the highest value of bending strength of 4.1 MPa was also obtained on the composite with the same ratio. The highest water absorption of produced composites was found on composite by adding of ratio MA:MAPE=2:1 that is 9.4%</text>

<text>In this study, composites were made from source of virgin HDPE and rice husk/natural bentonite as combined filler and mechanical properties of composites were measured. The purpose of study is to find the best condition of the ratio of rice husk/natural bentonite as matrix and the percentage of polyethylene-graft-maleic anhydride (MAPE) as coupling agent on quality of formed composites. In order to form these composites a hot press method was performed. The composite formation process was conducted at temperature of 170 oC for half hour. After pressed and heated then composites was cooled to room temperature and finally composites were tested to know its mechanical properties of tensile strength and bending strength. The results showed that addition of natural bentonite into matrix of rice husk have increased mechanical properties of composite compared to composites prepared by using only rice husk and virgin HDPE. Percentage of added MAPE also affect values of tensile and bending strength of composites. The effect of MAPE and natural bentonite which added during formation of composites caused the increasing adhesion bond between matrix and filler and as a result also increased the mechanicalproperties of composites. The highest tensile strength value of 18.2 MPa was found on composite with filler rice husk/natural bentonite ratio of 70:30 with addition of 5 wt% MAPE. While the highest bending strength value of 9.2 Mpa was obtained on composite with filler rice husk/natural bentonite ratio of 70:30and addition of 5 wt% MAPE</text>
