Pemilihan materi ini didasari dengan adanya kesulitan siswa dalammemahami materi KPK dan FPB, salah satunya adalah membedakan aturan yangberlaku pada KPK dan FPB. Dari sulitnya siswa memahami materi tersebutmenyebabkan hasil belajar siswa menjadi rendah. Rumusan masalah dari penelitianini adalah (1) Apakah dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran kooperatif t ipeSTAD dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada materi KPK dan FPB di kelas V SDN 5 Kota Jantho?, (2) Bagaimanakah kemampuan guru dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD?,(3) Bagaimanakah aktivitas siswa dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD? Tujuan dari penelitian iniadalah (1) Untuk mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar siswa melalui penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD pada materi KPK dan FPB di kelas VSDN 5 Kota Jantho, (2) Untuk mengetahui kemampuan guru dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD, (3)Untuk mengetahui aktivitas siswa dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD. Jenis penelitian ini adalahPenelitian Tindakan Kelas. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui tes dan lembarobservasi. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas V SDN 5 Kota Janthosebanyak 21 siswa. Analisis data menggunakan statistik deskriptif dengan rumuspersentase. Berdasarkan analisis data dapat diperoleh : (1) Terdapat peningkatanhasil belajar siswa di kelas V SDN 5 Kota Jantho pada materi FPB dan KPK denganmenggunakan model kooperatif tipe STAD pada siklus I dengan persentase 80,95%,siklus II menjadi 85,71%, dan pada siklus III 95,24%; (2) Kemampuan guru padamateri FPB dan KPK siklus I dengan nilai rata-rata mencapai 3,5 masuk dalamkategori baik, pada siklus II menjadi 3,6masuk dalam kategori baik, dan menjadi 4,5pada siklus III masuk dalam kategori sangat baik; dan (3) aktivitas siswa pada siklusI dengan nilai rata-rata mencapai 2,14 masuk dalam kategori kurang baik, menjadi 2,57 masuk dalam kategori cukup (siklus II), dan pada siklus III menjadi 3,57 masukdalam kategori baik. Dari analisis data dapat disimpulkan bahwa melalui penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswapada materi KPK dan FPB di kelas V SDN 5 Kota Jantho.
