Model pembelajaran ini adalah model pembelajaran kooperatif dengan menggunakan kelompok yang berupaya memberikan pembelajaran dengan memberikan contoh-contoh dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah (1) untuk mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar mata pelajaran IPS siswa kelas VII C SMP Negeri 2 Ulim Kabupaten Pidie Jaya dengan penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe example non example. (2) untuk mengetahui kemampuan guru dengan penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe example non example. Peneliti melakukan penelitian di SMP Negeri 2 Ulim dengan mengambil subjek siswa kelas VII C pada mata pelajaran IPS. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilakukan dalam tiga siklus. Subjek penelitiannya adalah siswa kelas VII C di SMP Negeri 2 Ulim yang berjumlah 42 orang. Data yang diperoleh adalah tentang hasil belajar siswa dan aktivitas guru. Data ini diperoleh dengan menggunakan tes dan lembaran observasi. Data hasil belajar diolah dengan melihat kriteria ketuntasan minimal yang ditetapkan di SMP Negeri 2 Ulim untuk mata pelajaran IPS yaitu 65, aktifitas guru dinilai dengan menggunakan skala penilaian yaitu (1) nilai 1-1,5 bernilai tidak baik, (2) nilai 1,5-2,5 bernilai kurang baik, (3) nilai 2,5-3,5 bernilai cukup baik, (4) nilai 3,5-4,5 bernilai baik, dan (5) nili 4,5-5,0 bernilai sangat baik. Dari hasil penelitian yang sudah dilakukan di dapat kesimpulan bahwa (1) Pembelajaran dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe example non example pada materi pelajaran memiliki dampak positif dalam meningkatkan prestasi belajar siswa yang ditandai dengan peningkatan ketuntasan belajar siswa dalam setiap siklus, yaitu siklus I (64%), siklus II (78%), siklus III (90%), (2) Tingkat kemampuan guru dalam mengelola pembelajaran kooperatif tipe example non example mengalami peningkatan yaitu pada siklus I memperoleh nilai rata-rata 3,35, pada siklus II memperoleh nilai rata-rata 4,00 dan pada siklus III memperoleh nilai rata-rata 4,28. Rumusan masalah penelitian ini adalah apakah penggunaan model kooperatif tipe group investigasi dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar, bagaimana aktivitas guru dan siswa dalam pembelajaran model kooperatif tipe group investigasi, bagaimana keterampilan guru dalam mengelola proses pembelajaran model kooperatif tipe group investigasi, dan bagaimana respon siswa terhadap penggunaan model kooperatif tipe group investigasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan (1) Untuk mengetahui peningkatan prestasi belajar siswa; (2) Untuk mengetahui aktivitas guru dan siswa dalam pembelajaran; (3) Untuk mengetahui keterampilan guru dalam mengelola pembelajaran; dan (4) Untuk mengetahui respon siswa terhadap pembelajaran dalam penggunaan model kooperatif tipe group investigasi mendapatkan hasil belajar yang baik. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X-4 SMA Negeri 1 Unggul Darul Imarah yang terdiri dari 23 siswa. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan tes (pre-test dan pos-test) untuk hasil belajar siswa, menggunakan lembar pengamatan aktivitas guru dan siswa, lembar pengamatan keterampilan guru dalam mengelola pembelajaran, dan angket respon siswa terhadap penggunaan model kooperatif tipe group investigasi. Analisis data menggunakan statistik deskriptif persentase. Hasil penelitian diperoleh (1) Persentase ketuntasan secara individual meningkat, pada siklus I terdapat 14 siswa yang tuntas secara individual dan 10 siswa yang tidak tuntas dari 23 orang siswa (61%), pada siklus II terdapat 20 siswa yang tuntas secara individual dan 3 siswa yang tidak tuntas dari 23 orang siswa (87%). Persentase ketuntasan klasikal meningkat dari 50% pada siklus I menjadi 90% pada siklus ke II; (2) Aktivitas guru dan siswa meningkat menjadi sesuai dengan persentase waktu ideal; (3) Keterampilan guru dalam penerapan penggunaan model kooperatif tipe group investigasi meningkat dari sedang (2,6) menjadi baik (3,5); dan (4) Respon siswa terhadap penggunaan model kooperatif tipe group investigasi adalah 92,9% dari 23 siswa menjawab dapat memperjelas pemahaman terhadap materi yang dipelajari.
