                <text>The need of wood as one of raw materials in furniture industry keeps increasing. One of efforts to reduce wood consumption is to develop research by creating composite design from material that contains sellulose to be particle board. Particle board is one of material alternatives that can be wood substitute. The objective of this research is to investigate the effect of natural-adhesive-mixture composition (acacia bark and gambier) with oil-palm-empty bunch toward mechanical property of particle board. Characterization of particle board was carried out by undertaking mechanical property testing (tensile strength and compressive strength) under wet and dry conditions. Composition variations of adhesive and oil-palm-empty bunch were 30:70; 40:60; 50:50; 60:40; 70:30. Making process of particle board is carried out by mixing oil-palm-empty bunch and adhesive with addition of 2% para-formaldehyde and water as much of 10%. Furthermore, the mixture is compressed by using Hot Press at temperature of 150oC and pressure of 10 kg/cm2 for 15 minutes. The research result indicates that the higher the adhesive composition (either adhesives of acacia bark or gambier), particle board resulted is better. In dry condition,  values of the tensile strength of particle boards  that have acacia bark adhesive and gambier adhesive have range of 84.2 - 104 Kgf/cm2 and 83.4 - 81.5 kg/cm2, respectively. Whereas, values of compressive strength of particle boards that have adhesives of acacia bark and gambier are in the range of 6.8 - 10.5 kg/cm2  and 6.3 - 9.3 kg/cm2, respectively. The values of tensile strength and compressive strength are obtained on compositions  of adhesive: oil-palm-empty bunch ≥ 40:60, and they have fulfilled satandard of SNI 03-2105-1996. The values of tensile strength and compressive strength of particle board in wet condition, either adhesives of acacia bark or gambier, have not fulfilled standard of SNI 03-2105-1996.Keywords: empty-bunch-oil palm, acacia bark, gambier, particle board, tensile strength</text>

                <text>Power bank berdaya tinggi merupakan alat untuk pengisian sebuah gadget yang sangat diperlukan saat ini. Penambahan Amplifier pada perancangan power bank ini akan membuat fungsinya lebih maksimal. Kami telah berhasil dirancang suatu perangkat elektronik yang berfungsi sebagai alat pengisi baterai sebuah gadget dan juga sebagai amplifier. Tujuan dari perancangan ini adalah untuk membuat power bank yang dilengkapi dengan amplifier. Perancangan rangkaian ini menggunakan komponen-komponen elektronik diantaranya: baterai yang berfungsi sebagai penyimpan daya sementara, IC LM7805 yang berfungsi sebagai regulator tegangan, IC TDA2822 yang berfungsi sebagai penguat sinyal suara, dan speaker sebagai output dari amplifier. Tegangan yang dihasilkan dari pengujian rangkaian ini adalah 5 volt. Lama waktu yang dibutuhkan untuk mengisi ulang sebuah gadget adalah selama satu jam dan power bank ini masih bisa digunakan untuk dua atau tiga kali pengisian. Jika penggunaan power bank dilakukan bersamaan dengan amplifier maka baterai akan cepat habis.Kata kunci :Power Bank, Amplifier, dan Gadget.</text>

                <text>Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk meningkatkan nilai tambah tepung ubi jalar dengan cara memodifikasi pati sehingga dihasilkan karakteristik tepung yang diinginkan. Tepung ubi jalar dimodifikasi menggunakan hingga 5 siklus pemanasan-pendinginan berulang dengan waktu yang berbeda (15 dan 30 menit). Percobaan disusun dengan Rancangan Acak Kelompok, 2 ulangan. Parameter yang diamati meliputi: kadar air, kadar abu, densitas kamba, indeks penyerapan air (IPA), indeks kelarutan air (IKA), stabilitas terhadap pembekuan dan thawing dan granula serta sifat kimia (kadar air dan kadar abu) dan sensoris (volume spesifik, rasio pengembangan roti, serta organoleptik roti manis yang terdiri atas uji deskripsi dan uji hedonik) roti manis yang dihasilkan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan, bahwa siklus pemanasan-pendinginan dan waktu pemanasan serta interaksi keduanya menunjukkan pengaruh tidak nyata terhadap semua parameter uji tepung, meliputi kadar air, kadar abu, densitas kamba, indeks penyerapan air (IPA), indeks kelarutan air (IKA), dan nilai thawing. Aplikasi tepung ubi jalar termodifikasi terhadap roti manis menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan siklus pemanasan pendinginan hanya berpengaruh sangat nyata terhadap volume spesifik adonan, berpengaruh nyata terhadap sifat hedonik warna dan berpengaruh tidak nyata terhadap parameter uji lainnya. Perlakuan waktu pemanasan berpengaruh sangat nyata terhadap sifat hedonik warna dan berpengaruh nyata terhadap kadar abu, volume spesifik adonan, sifat hedonik, rasa dan sifat hedonik tekstur dan berpengaruh tidak nyata terhadap parameter uji lainnya. Interaksi antar perlakuan berpengaruh sangat nyata terhadap volume spesifik adonan roti manis, berpengaruh nyata terhadap organoleptik tekstur hedonik namun berpengaruh tidak nyata terhadap parameter uji lainnya. Berdasarkan kualitas roti yang dihasilkan siklus pemanasan-pendinginan berulang yang dilakukan tidak lebih dari 2 kali dengan waktu pemanasan 15 menit menghasilkan roti yang lebih disukai panelis.</text>

                <text>ABSTRAKRoti merupakan produk olahan hasil proses pemanggangan adonan setelah difermentasi. Indonesia merupakan negara pengimpor gandum terbesar kedua di dunia tahun 2012. Salah satu usaha yang dilakukan untuk mengurangi impor gandum yang merupakan bahan baku dalam pembuatan roti adalah dengan cara mensubstitusi terigu dengan pasta jagung. Jagung manis dapat digunakan sebagai bahan olahan pembuatan roti, dengan cara dijadikan pasta jagung atau tepung jagung. Kandungan karbohidrat lebih tinggi dari tepung terigu maupun bahan pangan pokok lainnya dan kandungan karbohidrat jagung manis sebanding dengan beras. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh rasio tepung terigu dan pasta jagung manis serta suhu dan waktu pemanggangan terhadap karakteristik roti tawar. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) Faktorial dengan faktor rasio penggunaan tepung terigu dan pasta jagung manis (R) yang terdiri dari R1 =  80:20,   R2 = 70:30, R3 = 60:40, R4 = 50:50 dan faktor suhu dan waktu pemanggangan (K) yang terdiri dari K1 = 1700C selama 50 menit dan K2 = 1900C selama 30 menit. Produk yang akan dianalisis pada penelitian ini yaitu roti tawar pasta jagung manis meliputi analisis fisik (volume spesifik, rasio pengembangan adonan, kekerasan), analisis kimia (kadar air dan kadar abu), dan organoleptik, yaitu uji hedonik (warna, rasa, aroma dan tekstur). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kadar air roti tawar yang dihasilkan dengan rata-rata 28,60 %, kadar abu roti tawar 5,86 %, kekerasan 57,94 mm/g, rasio pengembangan adonan roti tawar 64,82 %, volume spesifik roti tawar 3,32 cm3/g, organoleptik hedonik warna (3,58), rasa (3,71), aroma (3,66), tekstur (3,56).Kata Kunci: jagung manis, pasta jagung manis, roti tawarABSTRACTThe bread product will be produced by mixing the wheat flour and corn paste with a leavening agent (all-purpose flour contains the leavening) and water which results in the release of CO2 from fermentation and then baked to produced the final product. Indonesia ts the 2nd largest importer of wheat in the world (2012). The substitution of corn for a portion of the wheat in the production of bread is one way to reduce wheat imports. Sweet corn has a carbohydrate content comparable to rice which is higher than all-purpose wheat flour. This research project aims to determine the influence of the ratio of wheat to corn paste on the final product. Additionally the baking time and temperature will be varied to categorize the different characteristics of the finished product. The study will use a group randomized desigh (GRD) with wheat to corn paste ratio (R) of R1 = 80:20, R2 = 70:30, R3 = 60:40 and R4 = 50:50 by weight. The time and temperature factor (K) will consist of K1 = 170oC:50 min K2 = 190oC:30 min. the product will be analyzed for physical properties: specific volume, the ratio of dough development to hardness. Chemical properties: moisture, ash content. Organoleptic or hedonic properties: color, flavor, aroma, texture. The average results for the product showed the moisture content of the bread is 28.60%. The specific volume is 3.32 cm3/gr, the organoleptic-hedonic color is 3.58, the flavor is 3.71, aroma is 3.66 and the testure is 3.56 on a scale of 1 to 5.Keywords: sweet corn, sweet corn paste, bread</text>

Kandungan karbohidrat lebih tinggi dari tepung terigu maupun bahan pangan pokok lainnya dan kandungan karbohidrat jagung manis sebanding dengan beras. Maka diperlukan penelitian untuk mengetahui pengaruh rasio tepung terigu dan pasta jagung manis serta suhu dan waktu pemanggangan terhadap karakteristik roti tawar yang dihasilkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh rasio tepung terigu dan pasta jagung manis serta suhu dan waktu pemanggangan terhadap karakteristik roti tawar. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) Faktorial dengan faktor rasio penggunaan tepung terigu dan pasta jagung manis (R) yang terdiri dari R1 =  80:20,   R2 = 70:30, R3 = 60:40, R4 = 50:50 dan faktor suhu dan waktu pemanggangan (K) yang terdiri dari K1 = 1700C selama 50 menit dan K2 = 1900C selama 30 menit. Produk yang akan dianalisis pada penelitian ini yaitu roti tawar pasta jagung manis meliputi analisis fisik (volume spesifik, rasio pengembangan adonan, kekerasan), analisis kimia (kadar air dan kadar abu), dan organoleptik, yaitu uji hedonik (warna, rasa, aroma dan tekstur). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kadar air roti tawar yang dihasilkan dengan rata-rata 28,60 %, kadar abu roti tawar 5,86 %, kekerasan 57,94 mm/g, rasio pengembangan adonan roti tawar 64,82 %, volume spesifik roti tawar 3,32 cm3/g, organoleptik hedonik warna 3,58, organoleptik hedonik rasa 3,71, organoleptik hedonik aroma 3,66, organoleptik hedonik tekstur 3,56.Kata Kunci: jagung manis, pasta jagung manis, roti tawarThe bread is a product processed dough after roasting process results fermented. Indonesia is the country's second-largest wheat importer in the world by 2012. One of the efforts being made to reduce imports of wheat which is a raw material in the manufacture of bread is by way of mensubstitusi wheat pasta with corn. Sweet corn can be used as an ingredient in processed bread making, by means of a paste made of corn or corn flour. Higher carbohydrate content than all-purpose flour and other basic foodstuffs and carbohydrate content of sweet corn is comparable to rice. Research is required to determine the influence of the ratio of flour and pasta sweet corn as well as the time and temperature of roasting of bread tasteless characteristics were produced. This research aims to know the influence of the ratio of wheat flour and pasta sweet corn as well as the time and temperature of roasting of bread tasteless characteristics. This study used a Group Randomized Design (GRD) with the use of ratio factors for wheat flour and pasta sweet corn (R) consisting of R1 = 80: 20, R2 = 70: 30, R3 = 60: 40, 50: 50 = R4 and roasting temperature and time factor (K) which consists of K1 = 170oC for 50 minutes and K2 = 190oC for 30 minutes. The product to be analyzed in this study. Pasta sweet corn bread tasteless includes analysis of physical (specific volume, the ratio of dough development, violence), chemical analysis (moisture and ash content), and the organoleptik, the hedonik test (colour, flavour, aroma and texture).                 <text>Marine observation and research activities require a suitable transportation means that has an ability to bring necessary equipment for data collection and observation into the sea. One of the means that has the ability is AUV (Autonomous Underwater Vehicle), an electric powered underwater vehicle. The vehicle does not require cable connection from the surface and has an ability to move to global positions according to programmable trajectory installed in a microcontroller and other navigation equipment. The control system of the AUV trajectory is programmed in the microcontroller. The navigation equipment consists of integrated sensor. The main sensor used is global positioning sensor, digital compass, pressure sensor, and 3-axys gyroscopes. The main focus of this paper is the design and application of the control system for an underwater survey vehicle that has an ability to bring necessary equipment for observation of coastal area. The vehicle moves from an observation point to another according to GPS assisted programmed data. The control system consists of the thruster system, the depth control system, the positioning system and compass system. The design and algorithm for the control system is proposed.</text>
