The present study investigated the degra-dation of phenol in aqueous solution by the effect of ultrasound. The process took place in a 500 ml glass reactor equipped with magnetic stirring and irradiated by low frequency (28 kHz) ultrasound from a horn type probe. Ultrasonic irradiation was found to enhance oxidation rates at ambient conditions, compared to other approaches. Optimum conditions were observed at a stirring speed of 400 rpm and temperature of 30 C in acidic solution. It was revealed that the phenol degradation was the first order kinetics with respect to phenol. A low value of the activation energy 6.04 kcal/mol suggested that diffusional steps were rate determining during the phenol decomposition. It also confirmed that phenol was mostly degraded in the film region and less occurred in the bulk solution. The Seulawah Agam is located in Aceh Besar district. Geologically, the area is dominated by volcanic mudflow and Lam Teuba’s rocks having age from Tersier to Resen Period. The equipment used includes Gravimeter CG-5 Autograv, Portable GPS (Global Positioning System), Navigation type (map of the survey area), computer and the other technical supports, such as handy talky, umbrella, watch, pens and observed data notes. This research was conducted by doing two stages.  Firstly, establishing the base station which is a reference point for all gravity data measurements at each point. Secondly, measuring gravity data at each point by repeating three times following looping pattern as pathway of measurement either in Heutsz’s crater whose nine points recording or in Cempaga’s crater whose seventeen points. The data was simply processed using Microsoft Excel that can just plot the Bouguer anomaly and interpreted qualitatively due to preliminary research. The resultof this research has shown that both areas have two kinds of Bougeur anomalies which slightly attract attention who’s high and low anomaly. At Heutsz’s Crater has high and low density existed at F125 FR and B6 point. The Point whose high density means that it was formed mineralization by hydrothermal process through fracture materials, meanwhile the point whose low density indicates that there is existed the fault which is quite related to Seulimum’s Fault based on Aceh map. This result is also same as obtained at Cempaga’s Crater which means also same interpretation. In addition, it can be sum up that fault zones are essentially important in geothermal system that plays vital role in term of fluid circulation. Loss of strength may take place in sandy soils due to an increase in pore pressure. This phenomenon, termed liquefaction, can accur in loose and saturated sands. The increase in pore pressure causes a reduction in the shear strength, which may even  be lost completely. Four soil profiles at the location of Laguna Bridge were selected for investigation. The eartquake data which have radius of 300 km from the bridge location were collected from Klimatology and Geofisics Station in Banda Aceh. The liquefaction potential was evaluated by using six methods. Results showed that by using Kishida method (1969) at bore log point 1,2,3, are generally no liquefaction accured, whereas at bor log point 4 are generally liquefaction accured. Seed and Idriss method (1971) showed no liquefaction, whereas Valera and Donovan (1977) showed liquefaction accured. Seed et. all (1976) showed liquefaction only accured at eartquake magnitude of 8.9 Richter scale, whereas the methods of Whitman (1971) and Castro (1975) are generally no liquefaction accured.Keywords : liquefaction, earthquake, saturated sand, cyclic.Abstrak: Studi potensi likuifaksi bertujuan untuk menganalisis terjadi tidaknya likuifaksi apabila terjadi gempa bumi. Pada suatu lapisan tanah pasir yang jenuh air, getaran-getaran gempa bumi menyebabkan terjadi suatu gejala likuifaksi yang merupakan gejala keruntuhan struktural tanah akibat menerima beban cyclic (berulang). Beban cyclic ini menimbulkan perubahan-perubahan di dalam deposit tanah, berupa peningkatan tekanan air pori sehingga kekuatan geser tanah menjadi berkurang atau hilang (loss strength). Tanah pasir yang kehilangan seluruh kekuatan gesernya akan mencair dan berprilaku seperti fluida. Studi ini dilakukan pada lokasi jembatan Laguna. Struktur lapisan tanah pada lokasi ini berpasir. Berdasarkan data sekunder diperoleh 4 titik bor. Data gempa dalam radius epicenter (R) maksimum 300 kilometer, dan magnitude 5,75 skala Richter dari Banda Aceh diperoleh dari Badan Meteorologi Klimatologi dan Geofisika Stasiun Geofisika Mata ie Banda Aceh (2010), kemudian percepatan gempa rata-rata di permukaan tanah dianalisis dengan menggunakan persamaan percepatan gempa Donovan (1972), Newmark (1968), dan Kawashumi. Potensi likuifaksi dianalisis menggunakan metoda Kishida (1969), Seed & Idriss (1971), Valera & Donovan (1977), Seed et al (1976), Whitman (1971), dan Castro (1975) dengan profil bor log, N-SPT dan magnitude gempa. Hasil studi ini menunjukkan bahwa dengan menggunakan metoda Kishida (1969) pada titik bor 1, titik bor 2 dan titik bor 3 secara umum tidak likuifaksi, sedangkan titik bor 4 secara umum likuifaksi. The soil sample that to be used for the research was taken from Neuheun Village, Mesjid Raya Subdistrict, Aceh Besar District. Based on AASHTO soil classification, the soil sample was Group A-7-6, wereas based on USCS soil classification, the soil was sandy clay of CL symbol. Soil specimen for Disturbed Sample (DS) and Undisturbed Sample (UDS) were 20 samples respectively, 10 of unsoaked samples and 10 of soaked samples with waiting period of 4 days. The result of research shows there is a linier correlation of CBR to PI, i.e., CBR = - 0,990 PI + 28,79; R2 = 0,868 for unsoaked and DS (Disturbed Sample). For unsoaked and UDS (Undisturbed Sample), the linear correlation results CBR = - 0,464 PI + 10,60; R2 = 0,728. The result of research also shows there is a linier correlation of CBR to PI for soaked and DS (Disturbed Sample). , i.e., CBR = - 0,673 PI + 15,88; R2 = 0,706. For soaked and UDS (Undisturbed Sample), the linear correlation results CBR = - 0,132 PI + 3,625; R2 = 0,887. It can be conclused that CBR value for all tested samples in this research influenced by soil plasticity index. Tanah yang digunakan pada penelitian ini berasal dari Desa Neuheun Kecamatan Mesjid Raya Kabupaten Aceh Besar. Lokasi tersebut merupakan lereng gunung yang rawan terjadinya longsor. Kawasan ini telah digunakan sebagai sarana transportasi untuk menuju quarry yang terletak di ujung kawasan beberapa kompleks perumahan penduduk yang belum diketahui kekuatan daya dukung tanah dasarnya. Menurut klasifikasi AASHTO tanah Desa Neuheun tergolong jenis tanah lempung dengan simbol kelompok A-7-6, sedangkan menurut klasifikasi USCS tanah tersebut termasuk golongan tanah lempung berpasir dan diberi simbol CL. Pengujian CBR dilakukan dengan menggunakan alat uji CBR. Jumlah benda uji pada masing-masing tanah terganggu (Disturbed Sample, DS) dan tidak terganggu (Undisturbed Sample, UDS) 20 sampel, 10 sampel untuk benda uji  tidak terendam dan 10 sampel untuk benda uji rendaman dengan masa tunggu 4 hari yang diikuti dengan pengukuran nilai pengembangannya. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa hubungan nilai CBR tidak terendam dengan PI sampel tanah menunjukkan adanya hubungan linier dengan persamaan CBR = - 0,990 PI + 28,79; R2 = 0,868 pada sampel tanah terganggu dan CBR = - 0,464 PI + 10,60; R2 = 0,728 pada sampel tanah tidak terganggu.   Hubungan nilai CBR terendam dengan indeks plastisitas sampel tanah juga menunjukkan hubungan linier dengan persamaan CBR = - 0,673 PI + 15,88; R2 = 0,706 pada sampel tanah terganggu dan CBR = - 0,132 PI + 3,625; R2 = 0,887 pada sampel tanah tidak terganggu. Hewan coba yang digunakan adalah tikus putih Galur Wistar sebanyak 12 ekor, berjenis kelamin jantan, berumur 2-3 bulan dan berat badan 100-200 gram. Penelitian ini menggunakan 4 kelompok perlakuan, masing-masing perlakuan terdiri dari 3 ekor tikus. Luka bakar derajat II B dibuat pada punggung tikus menggunakan solder listrik yang terhubung dengan logam. Perawatan dilakukan 2 kali sehari selama 21 hari yaitu P1 (aquabides), P2 (daun kedondong dan aquabides), P3 (minyak kelapa), dan P4 (daun kedondong dan minyak kelapa). Pengambilan sampel kulit dilakukan pada hari ke-7, 14 dan 21 untuk dibuat preparat histopatologi dan diwarnai dengan hematoxylin dan eosin. Parameter yang diamati yaitu reaksi inflamasi dan distribusi jaringan kolagen yang dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kelompok P4 terdapat infiltrasi sel radang lebih sedikit dan jaringan kolagen yang lebih padat dibandingkan dengan kelompok P1, P2 dan P3. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa kelompok P4 (daun kedondong dan minyak kelapa) menunjukkan gambaran histopatologis penyembuhan luka bakar yang lebih baik dibandingkan kelompok perlakuan lain.
