Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui motivasi siswa menggunakan facebook sebagai media berkomunikasi pada MAN Darussalam, Aceh Besar. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori Uses And Gratificationssalah satu teori yang muncul dalam kajian komunikasi massa, teori ini membahas tentang penggunaan media massa oleh khalayak aktif. Instrukmen penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan rumusan penelitian wawancara dan observasi. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa MAN Darussalam Aceh Besar yang terdiri dari 14 (empat belas) orang informan. Hasil penulisan ini menunjukkan bahwa Motivasi siswa dalam menggunakan facebook sebagai media berkomunikasi, dari mereka lebih memilih karena termotivasi tren untuk memenuhi kebutuhan informasi pertemanan dan juga mereka mengenal facebook dipengaruhi lingkungan pertemanan agar tidak dianggap ketinggalan zaman.Siswa tertarik untuk menggunakan facebook karena terdorong oleh keinginannya untuk mendapatkan informasi tentang sagala sesuatu informasi yang terbaru dalam jejaring sosial pertemanan yang sedang terjadi saat ini dan juga sebagai pengisi waktu luang saja.Motivasi siswa untuk menggunakan facebook sangat beragam, sebagiansiswa berpendapat bahwa melalui penggunaan facebook, mereka dapat menangkap berbagai informasi tentang jejaring sosial pertemanan, sebagianlainsiswa lebih memilih bahwafitur facebook sangat menarik. Seperti:Selling, menyimpan album poto dan bisa menandai orang lain yang ada dalam foto tersebut, dan akan terkirim ke facebook orang yang di tag dan juga adanya aplikasi game online. Hal ini yang membuat para siswa tertarik untuk menggunakan facebook walaupun tidak sering. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa motivasi dan komitmen organisasi secara signifikan berpengaruh terhadap kinerja pegawai. Motivasi dan komitmen organisasi juga berpengaruh terhadap kinerja Biro Umum Setda Aceh. Kemudian kinerja pegawai secara signifikan berpengaruh terhadap kinerja Biro Umum Setda Aceh. Hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan terdapat pengaruh tidak langsung antara motivasi dan komitmen organisasi terhadap kinerja Biro Umum Setda Aceh melalui kinerja pegawainya.
