Upaya perlindungan pantai dibutuhkan terhadap perubahan profil pantai diantaranya mengurangi energi gelombang, melindungi pantai buatan, dan mengubah laju transpor sedimen. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat pengaruh pemecah gelombang sejajar garis pantai dengan variasi jenis, bentuk, dan lebar pemecah gelombang terhadap perubahan garis pantai. Penelitian menggunakan model fisik pemecah gelombang skala tak distorsi 1:20 dengan kemiringan pantai yang dimodelkan adalah 1:20. Model pemecah gelombang terdiri dari kubus berpori berukuran 10 cm x 10 cm x 10 cm yang disusun membentuk blok lurus dan zigzag. Rangkaian kubus berpori ini merupakan variabel pemecah gelombang yang dipasang secara tunggal dan ganda pada kolam gelombang. Gelombang dibangkitkan dengan alat pembangkit gelombang regular dengan tinggi gelombang datang H1 = 6,5 cm, H2 = 7,5 cm, dan H3 = 10 cm, periode gelombang T1 = 1,475 detik, T2 = 1,415 detik, dan T3 = 1,268 detik, dan lebar breakwater (B1 = 1 lapis, B2 = 2 lapis, dan B3 = 3 lapis). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan terbentuknya salient pada variasi pemecah gelombang lurus maupun zigzag dan susunan tunggal dan ganda terutama pada tinggi dan periode gelombang H3T3 serta lebar pemecah gelombang B2. Akibat penjalaran gelombang, terjadi pembentukan bar (gundukan pasir) dan cekungan/lembah yang terjadi di sekitar breakwater. Hasil erosi terbesar terjadi pada variasi gelombang H3T3 sebesar -17.678 cm3 pada kondisi tanpa breakwater. Hasil sedimentasi terbesar breakwater tunggal sebesar 46.035 cm3 terjadi pada tipe zigzag B3, sedangkan pada breakwater ganda terjadi pada tipe zigzag B2 sebesar 31.435 cm3.
