<text>Abstract. The aims of the present study was to evaluate community structure and biomass of phytoplankton based on the depth stratification in the waters of Lake Laut Tawar. Sampling was conducted during March and April 2010. The results showed that 43 species of phytoplankton belonging to five classes were found in Lake Laut tawar. The most common class was Chlorophyceae with 20 genera, followed by Bacillariophyceae (diatoms) by 9 genera, Cyanophyceae (10 genera), Dinophyceae (2 genera), and Euglenophyceae (2 genera). The highest species composition was found at II with 15 m depth (24 genera), while the highest abundance of phytoplankton was occured at station with 10 depth (155600 cells/l), while the lowest abundance was obtained at 15 depth (12745 cells/l). Overall the phytoplankton population in Lake Laut Tawar was dominated by Bacillarophyceae. In addition, the diversity index of phytoplankton was in moderate level (2.34), while the evenness index was ranged from 0.43 to 0.87, indicate the distribution of the individuals of each species was varied, however there was no predominant species detected.Keywords. <text>Abstract. Herbivory reef fish is the most important of fish tropic group in the coral reef ecosystem.Hence, the objective of this study was to provide reliable data and information on herbivory reef fish based on management types in the northern Acehnese reef. Underwater Visual Census Techniques was used to collect the data at 20 sites around Weh Island and Aceh Besar. This study found 32 herbivory reef fishes species from five families in northern Acehnese reef. Densities of herbivory reef fish were varied from 27 to 104 ind./transect,while species numbers were also varied from 6 to 14 species/site. Family Acanthuriidae was the highest in species number, i.e. 19 species. Densities of herbivory reef fish in sites that were protected under the management authority of Sabang Weh Island were not significantly higher compare with sites from open access areas. Hence, the objective of the present study was to evaluate the community structure of macrozoobenthos in Tripa peat swamp. Four sampling locations were determinated using purposive random sampling which was focussed in the main river mouths of Tripa, Seuneam, Batee and Taduu Rivers. The sediment was collected in three plots (1m x 1m) at every sampling location. The results showed that, there were 34 species of macrozoobenthos recorded during the sampling, it is belonging to 4 classes; Gastropoda, Bivalvia, Crustacea and Insecta. The species richness was ranged between 1.12 to 1.58, indicates low category. The diversity and evenness indices were ranged between 0.62 to 2.44 and 0.19 to 0.73, respectively; indicates low tomoderate values. It was concluded that the macrozoobenthos community of Rawa Tripa was in unstabile condition. Keywords: Macrozoobenthos, Diversity, Tripa Peat Swamp.ABSTRAKRawa Gambut Tripa terletak di Kabupaten Nagan Raya dan Aceh Barat Daya Provinsi Aceh.

Fungal diversity on litter horizon layer of Acacia mangium were investigated to examined fungal species and fungal community on each litter horizon layer, and also to examined relationship between organic content of litter and fungal community. Twenty two species were isolated from three litter horizon layer with dilution method. Total fungal population on five years old A. mangium standing was higher than two years old, whereas on logging former area was low. Total fungal population on standing two and five years old were highest on L layer follow by F and H layer, but on logging former area were highest F layer followed by L and H layer. Aspergillus was dominate on H layer in almost of sampling collection area, beside that Aspergillus and Penicillium were found also on L and F layer. Generally L and F layer dominated by Sp7, Sp5, Sp20, and Sp22. The highest diversity indice on two years old standing was found at different layer.; L and H on health and Genoderma attacked standing, whereas on standing five years old, highest diversity indices was found at L layer, but on logging former area highest diversity indices was found at H layer.</text>

The data used in this model are tidal elevation and bathymetry data from GEBCO. The tidal current simulation was conducted for 30 days. Model simulation results show that the tidal current velocity ranged between 0,001 m/s – 0,012 m/s. The current velocity during neap tide is smaller than the velocity during spring tide. The pattern of tidal current in Makassar waters is dominantly flows towards westward and then turned heading northward direction. The simulation result of tide-induced residual current in verification point shows that the flows is ebb-dominant at a rate of 0,005 m/s heading westward direction.</text>

<text>Abstract. The objective of the present study was to examine the water quality and macrozoobenthos community of Belumai, North Sumatra. The study was conducted from March to May 2013 at three  sampling locations for three times sampling with one month interval. The water quality parameters which recorded in the study was temperature, current velocity, stream width, depth, turbidity, pH, DO, COD, TOM. The results shows that the Belumai River has a high turbidity level (163.57 - 242.6 NTU) and COD have passed the threshold standard class 1, which is intended to standards drinking water. The dominant macrozoobenthos was the Oligochaeta (79%). The Agglomerative Hierarchical Clustering (AHC) is displaying 2 group where the group A (station 1) has a fairly good water conditions characterized by the presence of organisms that are facultative i.e. Gastropoda, while group B (station 2,3, and 4) was considered as polluted areas indicating by the present of a dominant macrocoobenthos fauna of Oligochaeta. The Oligocheata is a tolerant fauna and as indication of pollution. Keywords: Belumai River; Water quality; Macrozoobenthic diversity Abstrak.
