Primary production in freshwater can be observed with the existing of aquatic plants includes micro and macrophyte. The study of aquatic plant is necessary due to the plant has important in aquatic environments, such as providing habitat, spawning ground, feeding ground, and nursery ground for aquatic biota. This study was conducted in June 2012, and the purposes were to identify species of aquatic plants and their percent cover in Lake Laut Tawar, Takengon. Sampling were conducted using quadrate transects of 0.5 x 0.5 m2, and the every transect was divided into 25 sampling points. A total of 10 species of aquatic plants were found and there were divided into four groups based on their morpho-ecology i.e. emergent, free floating, free submerged and rooted with floating leaves. Of these, emergent group was the most predominant (six species), followed by free floating (two species), free submerged (one species), and rooted with floating leave (one species). Hydrilla verticillata (free submerged group) and Eichhornia crassipes (free floating group) had the highest percent covers and density. The objective of present study was to study the diversity of macrozoobenthos in Kuala Gigieng estuary, Aceh Besar. The study was conducted in June 2011. The random sampling method was used to determine the area and sampling points based on tidal activities. Samples were taken with the Eckmann grab, then identified at Marine Biological Laboratory of Marine Science Department. The results showed that there were three class of macrozoobenhos (Malacostraca, Gastropoda, and bivalves) within 12 species of makrozoobenthos occured in Kuala Gigieng. The Shannon-Wienner diversity index (H') at high tide, mean sea level, and low tide were 1.26, 1.446, and 1.892, respectively, and it was categorized as low level. Keywords. Penelitian ini berlangsung dari 25 Agustus sampai 12 September 2014. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui keragaman jenis parasit yang menginfeksi ikan mujair serta menentukan tingkat prevalensinya. Sebanyak 50 sampel ikan mujair yang diambil dari keramba pada tiga tempat yaitu 15 ekor di keramba One-one, 17 ekor di Dermaga toweren dan 18 ekor di keramba Kebayakan yang dibudidaya di Danau Laut Tawar Kabupaten Aceh Tengah. Ikan mujair diperiksa di laboratorium Balai Benih Ikan (BBI) untuk melihat keberadaan ektoparasit dan endoparasit. Dari hasil penelitian ditemukan lima jenis parasit yang menginfestasi ikan mujair (O. mossambicus) di Danau Laut Tawar Aceh Tengah yaitu Dactylogyrus sp. ditemukan pada insang dengan prevalensi 76%, Gyrodactylus sp. ditemukan pada lendir dan sirip dengan prevalensi 86,9%, Epistylis sp. ditemukan pada lendir dan sirip dengan prevalensi 33,3%, Trichodina sp. ditemukan pada lendir, sirip dan insang dengan prevalensi 46,6% dan Ichtyophthirius multifiliis ditemukan pada lendir dan sirip dengan prevalensi 14%. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghitung komposisi, keragaman dan fluktuasi serangga tanah pada lahan jagung yang diberi biochar dan kombinasi pupuk kompos dan urea; serta membandingkan jumlah genus dan jumlah individu serangga tanah pada masing masing perlakuan. Pengkoleksian serangga tanah selama dua minggu menggunakan metode pit fall trap (perangkap barber). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat sembilan genus serangga tanah yaitu; Melanoplus, Aphaenogaster, Camponotus, Anisodactylus, Cosmodela, Discantus, Gryllus, Pycnoscelus dan Syccanus. Pemberian kombinasi residu biochar, kompos dan urea tidak mempengaruhi jumlah genus serangga tanah pada setiap pengamatan, begitu juga dengan jumlah individu kecuali pada pengamatan kedua dan keempat. Nilai indeks keragaman serangga tanah selama enam kali pengamatan, yang tertinggi terdapat pada pengamatan keempat (1.752), sedangkan yang terendah terdapat pada pengamatan keenam (0.700).Investigation of insects diversity in corn (Zea mays L.) farm with the combination of compost, urea fertilizer and biochar residues was examined since April to July 2013. The aim of this research is to calculate the composition, diversity and fluctuations of soil insects in corn farm that given biochar and the combination of compost and urea fertilizer; and compare the number of genera and individual soil insects for each treatment. The process of collecting soil insects was conducted by using pit fall trap method (barber trap). The result showed that there were nine genera; Melanoplus, Aphaenogaster, Camponotus, Anisodactylus, Cosmodela, Discantus, Gryllus, Pycnoscelus and Syccanus. Giving a combination of residual biochar, compost and urea did not affect the amount of soil on the surface of the insect genus of each observation, as well as the number of individuals except in the second and fourth observations. The highest diversity index values of land insects for six weeks of observation was in the fourth week of observation (1,752), while the lowest was in the sixth week of observation (0,700). The purpose of this research induced somaclonal variation in four Chrysanthemum (Dendranthema grandiflora Tzvelev) cultivars by using colchisine through in vitro culture. The research design was factorial completely randomized design with ten replications. The first factor consisted of four Chrysanthemum cultivars namely Fiji White, Puma Putih, Fiji Dark and Stroika. The second factor comprised of six levels treatment of colchicine concentrations i.e. 0, 0.01, 0.025, 0.05, 0.075 and 0.1% w/v. The result showed that the growth of plantlet after treatment of colchicines much slower than control. The treatment of colchicines was reducing the shot initiation, plantlet high, number of leaves and nodes, number of roots and roots length but increased leaf chlorophyll content.
