This research was conducted at the experimental farm of agriculture faculty unsyiah which began in April 2013 to September 2013. This research used a randomized block design with 6 patterns of non-factorial treatment that G1- wilis genotype, G2- kaba genotype, G3- sinabung genotype, G4- agromulyo genotype, G5- burangrang genotype and G6- anjasmoro genotype with 3 replications in order to obtain 18 units of unit experiment. The parameters measured were the growth of plant height, number of leaves, leaf length and leaf width aged 30, 45, and 60 days after planting and dry weight of plants. Outcome variable measured were the number of pieces cropping, seed number, 100 seed weight, seed weight perhectare, perarea seed weight, seed weight and planting. The resul of this research indicate that there is significant influence between the appearance of the growth and yield of soybean genotypes due to different treatments. Sinabung genotype showed the highest growth and diversity, anjasmoro genotype showed the highest diversity of results. The number of leaves, dry weight, seed weight and weight of 100 seeds perarea have heritability and genetic advances higher. Significant genetic correlation between the characters and yield growth occured in the number of leaves and weight of 100 seeds were negatif. Keywords : Glycine max L. <text>Soybean is an important food for national food security. Many soybean varieties have been released by the government, but only few were adopted by farmers. The purpose of this study was to identify superior soybean varieties that are adaptive in Aceh Besar, Aceh Province. The experiment was conducted in Village Limpok, Aceh Besar during dry season in 2013 and arranged in a randomized block design with 3 replications. The result showed that variety Kaba and Detam had very good vegetative growth performance. The fastest flowering varieties were Detam and Burangrang, while variety Gema, Tanggamus, and Orba were the slowest flowering. Variety Kaba and Orba had the highest productive node, while the least was Grobogan. Variety Kaba, Kipas Merah Bireuen, and Orba had the most productive branches, while local variety Bener Meriah and Grobogan had the least productive branches. Grobogan had the greatest seed size, followed by Burangrang and Anjasmoro. Kipas Merah Bireuen and Sinabung had the highest seed weight per plant but having the smallest seeds. Sinabung was the most adaptive in Aceh Besar.</text>

<text>Abstract. The objective of the present study was to evaluate diversity of phytoplankton as bioindicator water quality viewed from abundance, diversity index, evenness index, and saphrobic coefficient in Kuala Gigieng, Aceh Besar District, Aceh Province. Sampling was conducted on December 2011 to January 2012. This study applied purposive sampling method. The research obtained 4 families consisted of Crysopyceae (42 genera), Chlorophyceae (8 genera), Cyanophyceae (14 genera) and Euglenophyceae (4 genera). The highest abundance of phytoplankton was 1,362.89 ind/l at high tide on station 3 and the lowest was at low tide on station 1 (809,835 ind/l). The diversity index (H’) was ranged from 3.14 to 4.75, the evenness index (E) was ranged from 0.49 to 0.74, and saprobic coefficient was ranged from 0.331to 0.887. Based on saprobic coefficient, pollution level and water quality was categorized light to moderate level. Furthermore, phase of saprobic were     β-mesosaprobik, β-meso/Oligosaprobik dan β/α-mesosaprobik.Key words : phytoplankton, abundance, diversity index, saprobic coefficient.</text>

<text>Abstract. Yellowfin tuna (Thunnus albacores) is a large, pelagic, and migratory species of tuna that inhabits Moluccas Sea in Indonesia, and most sea environment worldwide. However, high fishing activities tend to happen in the Indonesia region and catch product appear to be decreasing. A better understanding of yellowfin tuna genetic diversity is required to plan better conservation strategy of tuna. The study was conducted to infer the genetic diversity of yellowfin tuna (T. albacores) in the Moluccas Sea. A total of 41 tissue samples of yellowfin tuna were collected from two regions in the Moluccas Sea (North Moluccas and Ambon) during an expedition in February 2013. The results showed that genetic diversity and nucleotide diversity of yellowfin tuna from North Moluccas population was 0.984 and 0.021, respectively; while in Ambon population, the genetic and nucleotide diversities were 1.00 and 0.018, respectively. The high genetic diversity (0.990) and nucleotide diversity (0.020) between two populations were observed. Based on phylogenetic analysis, no genetic differentiation between the two populations in Moluccas Sea was revealed .Keywords :  Population genetics; Haplotype diversity; Coral Triangle; Phylogenetics; Polymerase Chain Reactions (PCRs) Abstrak.

<text>Abstract. The objective of the present study was to identify and evaluate reef fish community structure at Makian Island. Sampling was conducted in two stations at coordinate position of 00º.22’15.75”N -127 º.25’12.00”E to 00 º.22’7.90”N - 127º. 25’17.40”E with two different depths i.e. 5 meters and 10 meters. Coral reef data were collected using line intercept transect method, while the reef fish data were taken using a census visual method. A total of 138 species of coral reef fishes were recorded during the survey belong to 47 genera and 21 families. The fish diversity on station 1 for both depths (5 meters and 10 meters) were a medium level, while on station 2 at 5 meters water depth was also a medium category, but a higher diversity was detected at 10 meters depth. The percentage coral covers on station 1 at 5 meters depth was a medium level, at 10 meters depth was classified as high covered, while on station 2 at 5 meters and 10 meters depth were classified very high percent covers.Key word. <text>Performance of Several Soybean Promissing Lines Grown Tidal Swamp AreasABSTRACT. Jambi soybean is one the soybean production centers of tidal swamp areas. This trial was aimed at evaluating of several soybean promising lines and selecting the most adaptable to tidal swamp growing areas in Jambi Province. There were 12 promising lines and 4 control varieties tested were G100H/SHR-60-38, SHR60/G100H-70, SHR60/G100H-75, G100H/TGM-D-1-3,G100H/TGM-D-1-16, MYP/G100H-D-2, and MYP/G100H-D-6. The control varieties were Wilis, Kaba, Anjasmoro, and Tanggamus. The trial was located at farmer’s field at Desa Bandar Jaya, Kecamatan Rantau Rasau, Tanjung Jabung Timur District, Jambi Province frol April to September 2008. The crop was grown at standard cultural practices for soybean with planting distance 40 by 15 cm and two seed per hole. Variables collect were germination rate, days to flower, plant height, days to maturity, number of productive branches, percentage of fertile seeds, one hundred seed weight, yield, pest, and disease infection. Result showed that all of tested lines and varieties had fairly good adaptation at tidal swamp growing areas. There were two lines which gave yield above 2 t/ha, namely G100H/SHR-60-38 (2.10 ton ha-1) and G100H/SHR60-34 (2.04 ton ha-1). Yield of these line is comparable to yield of control variety Tanggamus (2.07 ton ha-1). The two lines have better agronomic traits of compared to Tanggamus, namely bigger seeds and mature earlier.</text>
