Adapun tujuan penelitian ini yaitu mendeskripsikan tingkat kemampuan siswa kelas IV MIN Rukoh Banda Aceh dalam melengkapi cerita dengan kata yang tepat. Populasi dalam penelitian ini semua siswa kelas IV MIN Rukoh Banda Aceh. Jumlah keseluruhan siswa kelas adalah 101 siswa, yang tersebar di tiga kelas. Sampelnya 25% dari jumlah siswa yang ada sebanyak 25 siswa dengan penarikan sampel random (acak). Metodenya adalah deskriptif kuantitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data adalah teknik penugasan dengan menggunakan instrumen berupa pemberian delisi kepada siswa untuk melengkapi cerita dengan kata yang tepat. Teknik pengolahan data adalah teknik analisis kuantitatif, yaitu menggunakan statistik sederhana. Nilai rata-rata keseluruhan siswa kelas IV MIN Rukoh Banda Aceh dalam melengkapi cerita dengan kata yang tepat 59, 16 rentang 56-70 dan tergolong kategori cukup.
