Kesiapsiagaan merupakan salah satu bagian dari proses manajemen bencana. Kesiapan pemimpin dalam menggerakkan masyarakat juga dipengaruhi oleh kesiapan dari individu pemimpin sendiri. Karakteristik pribadi yang mempengaruhi kesiapsiagaan tsunami yaitu umur, jenis kelamin, tingkat pendidikan, pekerjaan, pendapatan, status perkawinan, pengalaman bencana sebelumnya dan persepsi resiko. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui karakteristik community leader dalam kesiapsiagaan menghadapi bencana gempa dan tsunami di Kota Banda Aceh. Jenis penelitian adalah deskriptif eksploratif. Desain penelitian cross sectional study melalui pendekatan purposive sampling dengan jumlah populasi 126 orang dengan menggunakan total sampling. Teknik pengumpulan melalui angket dengan menggunakan instrumen kuesioner. Dari hasil penelitian dapat diketahui bahwa sebagian besar responden berada pada rentang usia 30-60 tahun yaitu 98 orang responden (77,8%). Dominan berjenis kelamin laki-laki dengan jumlah 114 orang (90,5%). Dan telah menikah yaitu 106 orang responden (84,1%). Sebagian besar responden jenjang pendidikan terakhir adalah SMA yaitu 95 (75,4%). Dengan pekerjaan sebagai wiraswasta sebanyak 91 responden (72,8 %). Seiring dengan tingginya produksi kopi instan, maka diferensiasi pemasaran tidak hanya menciptakan produk, akan tetapi juga mencari segmen pasar yang ingin diraih yaitu karakteristik konsumen tertentu yang akan mengkonsumsi satu jenis kopi instan. Penelitian ini dilakukan di kecamatan Pantan Cuaca Kabupaten Gayo Lues. Pemilihan lokasi ini dilakukan secara sengaja (purposive) dengan pertimbangan bahwa adanya kebiasan masyarakat untuk mengkonsumsi kopi instan dibandingkan kopi yang diproduksi sendiri. Metode yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode survey. Penelitian ini merupakan analisis deskriptif kuantitatifHasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perkembangan konsumsi kopi instan ditandai dari tempat mengkonsumsi, waktu mengkonsumsi, alasan mengkonsumsi kopi, sumber informasi, harga kopi, dan konsumsi kopi alternative. Sedangkan fakotr yang mempengaruhi konsumsi diantaranya adalah factor usia, pekerjaan, tingkat pendapatan, pendidikan, dan lingkungan.Adapun kesimpulan dalam penelitian ini adalah faktor utama yang mempengaruhi alasan konsumen dalam memilih kopi instant adalah aroma. Sumber informasi tentang kopi instant pada umumnya didapatkan dari kelompok primer yakni Keluarga dan teman-teman konsumen. Kenaikan harga dan kelangkaan Produk hampir tidak berpengaruh terhadap keputusan konsumen dalam konsumsi kopi instant. Sedangkan saran yaitu diharapkan kepada masyarakat selain tidak hanya mengkonsumsi kopi luar, akan tetapi bagaimana mampu menciptakan produk kopi dari hasil pertanian yang ada didaerah sendiri. The objective of this research was to determine the characteristics and mineral content of coastal sand from  Lhokmee, Beureunut, and Leungah Aceh Besar District. The sand analysis was conducted at Material Laboratory of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Faculty, Syiah Kuala University from March to April, 2014. Samples were collected using purpossive sampling method. The observed physical characteristics of this research were sand color, shape and particle size. The mineral content was analysed using X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) and Joint Committee for Powder Diffraction Standard (JCPDS) program. The result showed that Lhok Mee coastal sand was physically characterized as white, sub-angular rounded shape and 0.21 mm of size, while Beureunut coastal sand was light brown, rounded-well rounded shape and 0.19 mm of size, then Leungah coastal sand was black, angular-well rounded shape and 0.13 mm of size. Based on  mineral content showed that Lhok Mee, Beureunut, and Leungah coastal sand were dominated by SiO3, SO3 and Fe3O4, respectively. All identified minerals at all stations were classified as volcanic minerals of lithogenous sediment. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa umur, pendidikan, pengalaman usahatani, luas lahan dan jumlah tanggungan petani yang dapat meningkatkan produksi usahatani kelapa sawit. Sedangkan kendala dalam usahatani kelapa sawit di daerah penelitian yang masih sulit di atasi adalah kendala ketersediaan sarana produksi, kendala dalam proses budidaya dari mulai seleksi bibit sampai kesalahan pemanenan, kendala dalam proses pemasaran dan kendala lembaga penunjang. An experiment was carried out from April 1st up to August 18 th 2013. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of source and level fermentable carbohydrate as an additive on the characteristic of ensilage and the contents of crude protein and crude fibre of king grass silage. The methods of this study was experimental, by using Completely Randomized Design. There were 9 treatments, each of which consisted of three replications. The treatments were : A = 1 % of mollases; B = 2 % of mollases; C = 3 % mollases; D = 5 % of rice bran E = 10 % of rice bran; F = 15 % of rice bran; G = 5 % of of cassava cake; H = 10 % of of cassava cake; I = 15 % of cassava cake. Note: all percentages were on the basis of king grass fresh weight. The observed variable were physical characteristics (color, aroma, texture, fungi), pH, temperature, and nutrient contents (crude protein and crude fibre). The result of this study showed that the color change of the silage was as follow: at the 14th and 28th day. The treatment had highly significant effect (P < 0.01) on the color, texture, and fungi of the silage and the content of crude protein, and had no significant effect (P>0,05) on the aroma (smell), temperature, pH and crude fibre. The contrast orthogonal test to the color, aroma, infestation of fungy, crude protein, the treatment of ABC was different relative to those of DEFGHI treatments. This study could be conclude that by wilting of king grass (water content of 60 %), the 1–3 of 3 % of mollases snd 5-15 % usage of rice bran an additive the results are better compared to the usage with additive of cassava cake, viewed from silage’s physical quality as well as its nutrient contents. This research aims to investigate physical characteristics of Arabica coffee powder with addition of corn and rice milled through mechanical process. This experiment used two mechanical mills including hammer mill and disc mill. Before it is milled, coffee was mixed with other materials including corn and rice. Parameters observed were yield, moisture content, bulk density, and angle of respose, particle uniformity index, fineness modulus, and the average particle dimensions. Based on the results obtained, it was revealed that moisture content of each test still meet SNI standard with the maximum of 7%. Bulk density of coffee powder resulted using disc mill was higher compared with hammer mill. However, particle generated from milling process may be categorized as powder with medium cohesiveness based on its angle of repose. Dimensional average particle is proportional to the fineness modulus of coffee powder produced. Highest fineness modulus obtained from coffee powder without additives, and using a hammer mill is equal to 4.37 with the highest average dimensions of 2.05 mm, while the lowest fineness modulus that the coffee powder without any additional ingredients milled with a hammer mill is equal to 4.22, with the lowest average dimensions of 1.94 mm.
