<text>Association of small intestine measurements with body weight in broilersABSTRACT. The main objective of the present study was to investigate the association of small intestine measurements with body weight in broilers. Sixty five weeks old unsex broiler chicks (CP 707) were used. All birds were leg-banded and alloted to 60 cage units and than were fasted for 10 hours but water given. All birds were weighed individually and then sacrificed by neck vein bleeding. Small intestine was dissected individually to determine length and wide. All data were subjected to statistical analysis: correlation and simple linear regression, analysis of variance and t-test. The length of small intestine, duodenum, and jejunum/ileum were each strongly correlated with body weight: r = 0,88; P < 0,01; r = 0,71; P < 0,01; and r = 0,80, P < 0,01 respectively. The wide of duodenum and jejunum/ileum were each closely correlated with body weight: r = 0,90; P < 0,01; and r = 0,86; P < 0,01 respectively. Results of study indicated that there were strong association between small intestine measurements and body weight in broilers.</text>

<text>The effect of different litter materials on ammonia concentration of the air ambient stall and broiler performanceABSTRACT. The study was conducted to observe the effect of ammonia concentration of broiler chicken coop air to the treatment various types of litter. High ammonia concentrations would interfere with performance of broiler chickens and become a problem for the environment. A good litter quality is expected to address the problem of ammonia that occur in the broiler chicken coop. This study uses a completely randomized, with 5 litter treatments. T0 without treatment repose only black plastic as litter, litter composition T1 100% bran, 50% T2 litter composition husks and Charcoal Shell 50%, T3 50% 50% husk litter composition and zeolite 50%, T4 25% husks litter composition, 25% charcoal, 25% zeolite and 25% of the land. Each treatment was repeated 3 times, each test consisted of eight chickens. Parameters observed in the form of ammonia concentration of air cages at week four, weekly feed intake, weight gain per week, the final weight, feed conversion, and mortality. The results indicate different types of litter treatment was very real influence of ammonia concentration of air enclosure. T4 treatment with a 1:1 blend of each component of the litter that is used successfully absorb such a large aerial ammonia, which indicates the ammonia content of the air is the smallest compared with other treatment 4. While the treatment without litter showed a very large aerial ammonia compared with the treatment. Feed consumption results also showed that the treatment that produces a small value causes ammonia to be markedly higher consumption. Values for weight gain, final weight, feed conversion, and mortality are not significantly affected by various types of litter treatment.</text>

<text>(Use of Fermented Pineapple Peel in the Ration Containing Medicinal Weeds on Fat and Cholesterol of Broiler Chicken) ABSTRACT. The objective of the experiment was to determine the effect of using fermented pineapple peel in the ration containing medicinal weeds on fat and cholesterol broiler chicken. The experiment was designed into completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 4 replicates. Treatments consisted of P0 = 0% of fermented pineapple peels meal (FPPM) in ration containing 0% medicinal weed (MW), positive control). P1 = 0% of fermented pineapple peels meal (FPPM) in the ration containing 2 % medicinal weed (MW), negative control). P2 = 7,5% of FPPM in the ration containing P1. P3 = 15% of FPPM in the ration containing P1. P4 = 22,5% of FPPM in the ration containing P1. Two hundred 2 days old male broiler chicken were used in this study and kept for 42 days. The parameters were feed consumption, liver weight, bile volume, meat fat level, and meat and blood cholesterol. The observed data were analyzed by Statistical Product and Service Solution (SPSS 16.0) and significant effect among treatments were tested by Duncan’s Multiple Range Test. The results of thus study showed that the treatments were significant effect (P <0.05) on feed consumption, meat fat of thigh. but were not significant effect (P> 0.05) on liver weight, bile volume, meat fat level and meat and blood cholesterol. It is concluded that use of fermented pineapple peel in the ration improved fat and cholesterol on broiler chicken.</text>
