<text>This research aims to produce an effective heat sink with thermoelectric which is a semi conductor devices having several pairs of type P (positive) and N (negative) S content. Type P has a lower energy level while type N had a higher energy level. This tool, equipped with a heat sink as the heater, is mounted on a chamber to create a heat exchanger for a portable cooler box. Three types of thermoelectric modules were used with different fin types to find out the their effects on the temperature, T, and the rate of heat transfer, Q, inside the cooler box. The results shows that with the blood volume of 250 cc, the blood temperature can be decreased from 29 oC to 5.8 oC within 145 minutes. The ideal temperature for the blood storage ranges from 1 oC to 6 oC. Among the three types of fins that were tested, the most effective heat transfer was given by fin type no. 3, the cylindrical-shaped fins. The heat transfer obtained is 12.83 W/m2 oC. The lowest heat transfer was given by fin type no. 2, which is a slot type, with heat transfer rate of 3.85 W/m2 oC.</text>

<text>Catfish is health food which contains good nutritional values. Aceh people frequently consume this fish in fresh with complicated special recipe, so that the rate consumption of this fish is still low. Therefore, it is important to find the method for preserving this fish to improve its consumption. Liquid smoke can be used as one method to prepare the fish. The purpose of this study is to assess the quality of catfish under the treatments with and without soaking the fish in liquid smoke.Catfish was cleaned and washed, then it was dipped in solution with 2% salt for 30 min. Afterthat, catfish were air-dried for about 1 hour. About 200 ml of liquid smoke was diluted in 9800 ml water. After soaking in solution with 2% liquid smoke for 10min, catfish were dried by using a cabinet dryer which has three layers. The parameters observed were moisture content and sensory analysis. About 25 panelists had evaluated the samples for appearance, flavor, taste, texture, and color. The results showed that the combination process of smoking and drying might maintain the product quality. The moisture contents of all products were still in appropriate amount as required by the Indonesian Standar (SNI).  According to organoleptic test, the smoke-dried catfish was preferred by panelist than the unsmoked-dried one. Therefore, soaking catfish in liquid smoke can be used to improve the taste of the fish. Further study is recommended to evaluate the shelf life of smoke-dried catfish.</text>

<text>Abstract: In any construction project there are often a changes or commonly referred to as variation orders. These changes vary from a change related to the drawings or specifications changes that may affect the scope of work of the project. Often the issues on variation orders at a construction projects may affect the implementation of the project performance and the performance of the contractor in carrying out the project. This study aimed to identify the factors arising from variation order on the implementation phase of a construction projects. Primary data collection is used to obtain data and to identify the characteristics factors respondent to variation orders by distributing questionnaires to 95 respondents consisting of owners, contractors, and consultants who manage a construction project in the province of Aceh from the period 2009-2010 in the department of Public Works (Bina Marga and Cipta Karya). Data processing is conducted by using a statistical method which consists of reliability analysis, frequency analysis, analysis of the Relative Importance Index and Spearman rank correlation analysis and computational tools utilizing the SPSS software version 16.0 and Microsoft Excel 2007. Based on the research results it obtained top 5 factors that occurred to the addition of the variation order. These factors are the  time, schedule delay completion, increase costs, claims and disputes as well as late payment of contractors..Keywords : variation order, project constructionAbstrak: Dalam setiap proyek konstruksi sering terjadi perubahan atau yang biasa disebut dengan variation order.

<text>Abstract. Granulometric study is considered as a tool to predict sediment formation process in an aquatic environment. This paper discusses brief assessment of granulometri studies on seagrass and coral reef areas in Indonesia by collecting samples at Pari Island waters. Sediment samples were taken in May 2008 near the coral reefs and seagrass area in the cluster of Pari Island waters, Seribu Islands, Jakarta. The wet sieving method was done to separate the sediment samples based on grain size. Statistical analysis i.e., mean, sorting, skewness, and kurtosis at both locations showed a considerably complex energy works on the sediment distribution in these locations. Keywords: granulometry; sediment; coral reef; seagrass Abstrak.

<text>Early Study on Arabica Coffee Varieties Base on Altitude Position on Gayo Highland AreaABSTRACT. Farmer cultivated mixed-varieties of arabica coffee in an area. As result no specific tasted for specific variety found. This result aims to observe the best coffee to be recommended for various altitude cultivation. There are nine altitude variations, 100 m interval from 700 to 1600 m above sea level (asl). For each internal altitude, coated-red coffee been harvested at farmers coffee farms at almost the same management and growth. The variables of arabica coffee bean quality physically observed were coated-red raw bean, coffee beans, coffee quality , beans passed on various filters, bean shape and tasted. The result showed that arabica coffee bean quality physically is getting better till 1400 m asl and then tends to decrease the quality till 1600 m asl as shown in export quality percentages, no passed at 7.50 mm filter, the percentage of normal beans, and tasted scores. However for coated-red raw asl. In contrast, floating coated-bean, floating bean and normal beans is decrease. Catimor Jaluk Variety of coffee arabica is suitable for all altitudes observed, followed by arabusta, Lini-S, Bergendal, and USDA. To avoid the dissimilarity of specific taste to highland arabica coffee, the varieties could be extended at different areas even though the same altitude.</text>
