                <text>Ketersediaan pasokan gas bumi menjadi faktor kunci dalam menggerakkan kegiatan operasi berbagai industri. Pemanfaatan gas bumi dalam negeri cenderung meningkat dan diperkirakan akan mengalami defisit pada tahun 2022 jika tidak menemukan sumber gas bumi baru. Berbagai upaya dilakukan oleh pemerintah dalam menghadapi ketersediaan gas dalam negeri, baik mencari sumur-sumur gas baru, maupun mengubah bahan bakar padat batubara menjadi gas. Dalam penelitian ini kajian yang dilakukan adalah proses pirolisis batubara muda Aceh dengan menggunakan pereaksi nitrogen (N2) sebagai gas dasar. Metodologi yang digunakan untuk mengkaji karakteristik dasar pirolisis batubara meliputi penurunan massa dan komposisi gas yang dihasilkan selama pirolisis. Penurunan massa selama pirolisis dikaji dengan dapur pemanas listrik sedangkan komposisi gas dikaji dengan menggunakan gas chromatography (GC). Penelitian ini dilakukan pada temperatur dengan variasi 160 oC, 180 oC, 200 oC, dan 400 oC. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa semakin tinggi temperatur pirolisis maka laju penurunan massa semakin besar. Potensi kandungan senyawa gas H2 tidak terbentuk selama proses pirolisis pada temperatur 160 oC 180 oC, 200 oC, sedangkan pada temperatur 400 oC berpotensi terbentuknya H2 yaitu 1,19%.</text>

                <text>Biomassa memiliki beberapa keunggulan terutama dari sifat terbarukan. Rendahnya kandungan energi yang dimiliki oleh biomassa mengharuskan penggunaan teknik secara efektif adalah dengan gasifikasi. Penelitian ini adalah mengetahui tingkat perpindahan panas yang terjadi pada pembakaran bahan bakar di ruang bakar jenis fluidisasi. Manfaat penelitian ini adalah diperoleh kehilangan panas pada sistem pembakaran biomassa. Bahan bakar yang digunakan pada penelitian ini : serpihan kayu ketam, ranting kayu kering dan sabut pinang. Langkah pertama adalah menghaluskan bahan bakar sehingga ukurannya menjadi 2-3 mm. Bahan bakar ditimbang menjadi 2 kg untuk sekali pengujian/biomassa, lamanya waktu pembakaran adalah 50 detik. Kehilangan panas pada combuster dengan biomassa serpihan kayu ketam, waktu 30 detik Tf 724oC dan TW 203 oC besar  kehilangan panas 26813,33 W/m. sedangkan kehilangan panas pada ruang bakar dengan biomassa serpihan kayu ketam, waktu 15 detik Tf rata-rata 334 oC dan TW 44  oC kehilanga panas 2947,03 W/m. Kehilangan panas pada combuster dengan biomassa ranting kayu kering, waktu 30 detik Tf 713 oC dan TW 201 oC besar  kehilangan panas 26350,15 W/m. sedangkan kehilangan panas pada ruang bakar dengan biomassa ranting kayu kering waktu 20 detik Tf rata-rata 286 oC dan TW 42  oC, kehilangan panas 2479,57 W/m. Kehilangan panas pada combustor dengan biomassa sabut pinang, waktu 20 detik Tf 515 oC dan TW 137 oC, kehilangan panas 19453,82 W/m. sedangkan kehilangan panas pada ruang bakar dengan biomassa sabut pinang waktu 15 detik Tf rata-rata 118 oC dan TW 39  oC kehilangan panas 802,81 W/m.</text>

                <text>Pemanfaatan energi surya sebagian besar untuk pemanas air. Sistem pemanas air surya sudah umum digunakan namun masih memiliki beberapa hambatan sehingga selalu diperlukan penelitian untuk meningkatkan kinerja sistem pemanas air surya. Pada penelitian ini telah dirancang pemanas air surya yang dapat diandalkan untuk menyediakan air panas pada saat tidak tersedianya energi matahari atau sinar surya dalam jangka pendek. Pemanas air surya yang dirancang dan dibuat berukuran panjang 465 mm x 365 mm x 15 mm. Untuk meningkatkan kinerja sistem digunakan material penyimpan energi panas (PCM) diletakkan didalam kolektor surya yang berbentuk bola-bola. Material yang digunakan untuk penyimpan energi panas yaitu lilin lebah (beeswax). Pengujian sistem pemanas air surya dilakukan dilingkungan Fakultas Teknik Universitas Syiah Kuala dengan kondisi cuaca Kota Banda Aceh. Dari hasil pengujian diperoleh sistem pemanas air surya mampu mencapai 58C, penggunaan material penyimpan energi panas mampu mempertahankan temperatur air yang telah diganti berkisar antara 40C hingga 45C selama 2-3 jam, sedangkan radiasi surya dan temperatur ruang kaca mulai menurun. Dari hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa menggunakan material berubah fasa (PCM) sebagai material penyimpan energi panas akan mampu meningkatkan dan mempertahankan kinerja sistem pemanas air surya.</text>

                <text>The effect of engine loading on emission of particulate matter was studied by using an Otto engine (Honda astrea grand 110 cc). In the experiment, the characteristics of loading engine, fuel consumption and composition of particulate matter were investigated. The engine loading was determinated in term of engine transmittion, the fuel consumption was measured by using plastic tube scale, and composition of deposit particulate matter was analyzed by using spectrophotometer. The experimental results show that the quantity and fuel consumption was increased by the increasing engine loading.                 <text>The process of blood storage is the important part in maintaining the blood quality. After it is donated by the donor, the blood will be stored in a storage cabinet until it is needed by the patient. One of the common ways to preserve and maintain the chemical and structural changes of the blood is to store it in a storage area that has a temperature of between 1-6 °C. Blood storage cabinets that already exist this days, use the vapour compression cycle which is only suitable for the storage of large capacity and is not portable if there is blood demand in remote areas. To answer these problems, in this research will be designed and manufactured portable blood storage cabinet by the size of 30 cm x 30 cm x 30 cm. The heat in the storage is discharged to the air by using a heat pump which works using thermoelectric cooler (Peltier effect). The Peltier effect occurs when two metals or semi-conductors of different materials are connected and energized that there will be a difference in temperature. In order to test the feasibility of the blood storage cabinets technically, the heat transfer study is conducted. The experimental result shows that the expected temperature is achieved.</text>

                <text>In this research, experimental study is conducted related to the latent heat transfer and thermal energy storage using finned tubes. An experimental unit consisted of data acquisition, the heat exchanger shell and tube were used to improve heat transfer. The fluid heat pipe was designed in longitudinal fin and radial fin. Paraffin wax was used as a thermal storage medium. The characteristics of heat transfer from fluid to paraffin wax is investigated in different heat flux conditions. The experimental results show that the heat transfer characteristics show similarities to the heat exchanger tubes. In the preheating process, it is dominated by conduction, but at the melting temperature of the heat transfer, it is dominated by convection. The use of longitudinal finned pipe has been able to increase the heat transfer rate.</text>

                <text>Kemampuan tanaman merupakan kemampuan penyerapan emisi gas CO2 dan panas matahari untuk mengurangi dampak pemanasan global. Pemanasan global merupakan meningkatnya temperatur rata-rata atmosfer bumi yang berdampak pada perubahan iklim, mencairnya es di Kutub, serta naiknya permukaan air laut. Penyebab terjadinya pemanasan global ini adalah terhambatnya transfer panas dari permukaan bumi ke ruang angkasa yang sering dianalogikan seperti efek rumah kaca. Terjadinya efek rumah kaca dikarenakan adanya gas rumah kaca karbon dioksida (CO2) dan gas lainnya di atmosfer bumi. Dengan meningkatnya konsentrasi gas salah satunya CO2, semakin banyak pula panas yang terperangkap dibawahnya. Peningkatan konsentrasi CO2 terjadi karena tidak seimbangnya antara peningkatan dengan penyerapan CO2 di atmosfer, hal ini disebabkan meningkatnya pemakaian energi fosil dan terus berkurangnya hutan-hutan penyerap CO2 akibat penebangan, pembakaran, dan alih fungsi lahan. Untuk mengurangi peningkatan gas CO2, salah satu upaya yang dapat dilakukan yaitu memperbanyak tanaman penyerap CO2, karena tanaman mampu menyerap CO2, mengubahnya menjadi oksigen dan glukosa dengan memanfaatkan panas matahari. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kemampuan penyerapan CO2 dari beberapa jenis tanaman. Pengujian dilakukan menggunakan 2 ruang uji tertutup dengan dimensi 100 cm x 50 cm x 50 cm, dimana ruang I digunakan untuk penyimpanan emisi gas buang CO2 sebanyak 0.5%, sedangkan ruang II sebagai tempat tanaman yang akan diuji. Pengaliran gas ke ruang II, dilakukan dengan bantuan fan selama 300 menit, dan pengambilan data dilakukan setiap 60 menit. Dari hasil penelitian, dapat diurutkan kemampuan tanaman menyerap CO2 terbaik yaitu: palem ekor tupai: 0.25 milligram/m2.jam, kemudian trembesi: 0.243 milligram/m2.jam, mahoni: 0.2 milligram/m2.jam, jeruk purut: 0.177 milligram/m2.jam, mangga: 0.166 milligram/m2.jam dan tanjung: 0.166 milligram/m2.jam.</text>

                <text>Kebutuhan akan kertas di dunia terus meningkat sejalan dengan perkembangan peradapan manusia, sehingga kertas tidak dapat lagi dipisahkan dari kehidupan manusia. Dalam pembuatan kertas saat ini umumnya bahan baku yang digunakan  berupa bambu, kenaf, dan lain lain. Tetapi lahan untuk menanam pohon yang menghasilkan bahan baku kertas tersebut semakin menipis disebabkan oleh banyaknya lahan yang dialih fungsikan menjadi perkebunan sawit, perkebunan karet perumahan dan pembalakan liar (Illegal logging). Tujuan penelitian ini, membuat kertas alternatif dari alga merah (Gracilaria sp) dengan penambahan serat batang rubik (C. Gigantea) untuk mengatasi menipisnya ketersedian bahan baku bambu, kenaf, dan lain-lain sebagai bahan baku pembuatan kertas serta mengkaji sifat termal dari kertas tersebut. Kertas dibuat dengan mengekstraksi serat batang rubik, membuat pulp dengan memvariasikan jumlah persentase serat dengan alga (0%, 2%, 4%, 6%, 8%), membuat kertas dalam cetakan 25 cm x 30 cm. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai optimun konduktivitas termal diperoleh pada variasi serat batang 6%. Namun hasil konduktivitas termal yang paling tinggi terletak pada variasi 0% serat batang rubik, sedangkan paling kecil adalah pada variasi 4% serat batang rubik karena perbedaan temperatur yang besar. Semakin besar perbedaan temperatur maka semakin rendah nilai konduktivitas termalnya dan sebaliknya.Kata Kunci : Kertas, Alga Merah, Serat Batang Rubik, Konduktivitas Termal.</text>

                <text>High impact of product damage by injection molds process on polymer waste processing unit was seriously affected to quality and sustainability production. In this study effect of injection mold design was minimized by investigated and redesign injection molding system. The main equipments of injection molding system which is available at Unit Pengolahan Limbah Plastik Dinas Kebersihan dan Permanan Kota Banda Aceh are polymer waste cutting, splitting and cleaning devices and injection molding machine. According to observation conducted previously on current injection molding product and mold found that failure of product caused by mis-design of mould. Products defects occurred are sink mark, weld line and air trap. Mold-Flow software was used to modeling and simulating injection mold process. Based on simulation result and discussion found that defected products have been able minimized. By modifying sprue location and redesign mold, products defect minimized and injection pressure still remain to push polymer to mold inlet  at range 0,72-0,48 Mpa</text>
