This research was conducted at Laboratory of Plant Pests and Diseases, Agriculture Faculty, Syiah Kuala University, Banda Aceh. This research used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) non-factorial, with six levels of extract concentrations, that is 0%, 3%, 6%, 9%, 12%, and 15%. Each treatment was repeated four times. The variables measured were mortality of larvae, percentage of formed pupae, percentage of emerging imago, and life length of imago. The results showed that application of the sweet flag rhizome extract affected mortality of larvae, formed pupae, emerging imago, and life length of imago S. litura. Use of sweet flag rhizome extract with a concentration of 3% was effective in controlling S. litura. Application of sweet flag rhizome extract with a concentration of 3% resulted in larval mortality up to 57.50%, formation of pupa only 20%, emerging imago 5%, and average life length of imago S. litura 1.25 days. The purpose of this study was to investigate the biology of P. marginatus on the cassava leaves. The result showed that the insect development time on cassava leaves were: 8.0 ± 0.79 days for egg stage, 5.3 ± 0.67 days for first instar nymph, 5.5 ± 0.84 days for the second instar of female nymph, 5.3 ± 0.50 days for the second instar of male nymph, 5.4 ± 0.51 days for the third instar of female nymph, and 3.6 ± 0.52 days for the third instar of male nymph (pre pupa), respectively. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa-siswi SMAN 4 Banda Aceh XI sebanyak 160 siswa-siswi . Sedangkan yang menjadi sampel dalam penelitian ini yaitu siswa-siswi kelas XI IPA sebanyak 45 siswa-siswi. Penentuan sampel dilakukan secara acak. Metode yang digunakan yaitu metode deskriptif kuantitatif, dengan jenis penelitian yaitu Penelitian asosiatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan angket dan dokumentasi yang diperoleh dari guru yang bersangkutan, pengolahan data menggunakan teknik statistik dalam bentuk uji korelasi menggunakan rumus product moment dan pemberian skor berdasarkan kepada Skala Likert. Dari hasil analisis data diperoleh nilai r sebesar 0,80, ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat korelasi yang positif dan signifikan antara antara minat siswa memilih jurusan IPA terhadap nilai Fisika, Matematika, Kimia dan Biologi. Jika harga rhitung dibandingkan dengan rtabel maka diperoleh sebesar 0,30 pada taraf signifikan 5% dengan N = 43, sehingga diperoleh (rhitung < rtabel yaitu 0,80 < 0,301) yang artinya bahwa hipotesis alternatif (Ha) diterima dan hipotesis nol (Ho) ditolak, dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat hubungan antara minat siswa memilih jurusan IPA terhadap nilai Fisika, Matematika, Kimia dan Biologi pada SMA Negeri 4 Banda Aceh. ? Berdasarkan hasil analisis data dapat disimpulkan sebagai berikut: (1) Penerapkan model Teams Games Tournament dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada materi Suhu dan Kalor di SMP Negeri 16 Banda Aceh, (2) Aktivitas guru dan siswa dalam penerapan model Teams Games Tournament telah meningkatkan kegiatan siswa dalam bekerja sama melakukan diskusi, bekerja sama dalam memecahkan masalah dan mengerjakan soal-soal.
