Their existence in the medicinal plants of johar (Cassia Siamea Lamk.) enables to produce bioactive compounds simmilar to those contained by the host plants. It is necessary to isolate and characterize endophytic bacteria from johar. Methods consisted of samples sterilization, endophytic bacterial isolation, and characterization of the morphology and physiology of Endophytic bacteria. a total of seven isolates of endophytic bacterial isolates were obtained from the isolation of plant Johar. Isolates DC 2, DC 3 and BC 3 had antibacterial capabilities with inhibitory zone diameters of 5 mm, 8.5 mm and 11.5 mm respectively.</text>

<text>. Phage therapy is not new because it has been practiced since the early 1900s to cure diseases such as shigellosis, typhus and dysentery that caused by bacteria. However, when antibiotics were discovered in 1941, this antibacterial therapy was quickly abandoned by most western scientists. Antibiotic treatment is usually prescribed to treat pathogenic bacteria E. coliO157:H7. However, since 1950s, the widespread resistance to antibiotics has raised public concern on development of alternatives to antibiotics. As a result of this resistance, there becomes a need for an alternative treatment to work synergistically with antibiotic to deal with bacterial infections. This has led to a new approach by the use of bacteriophage which is phage therapy. Once again, this treatment has received attention as an alternative method against bacterial infection. Phage therapy is the treatment on pathogenic bacterial infections by using bacteriophage which capable of invading bacterial cells and disrupting bacterial metabolism before lysing it. Phages are extremely host-specific and the natural enemies of bacteria. It soon becomes clear that there are huge numbers of bacteriophages existed and waiting to be isolated. Phage specific to E. coliO157:H7 was successfully isolated from sewage treatment sample. The appearance of plaques on lawn of E. coliO157:H7 plate indicates phage capabilities to infect and lyses the host cells. The isolated phage was further characterized based on its morphology, genomic profile, physicochemical attributes, and host specificity to assess their potentials to be developed as phage therapy against E. coliO157:H7. </text>

Cromatography gas is the standard method recomended by ISO 3757/2002 for testing the quality of patchouly oil. This method requires the original compound of pure patchouly alcohol as the reference material. However the authentic compound of pure patchouly alcohol is not yet available in the chemical trade. Therefore, research should be focused on determining a patchouly oil standar as laboratory reference testing in Indonesia. The experiment of isolation patchouly alcohol from patchouly oil was conducted using fractional distillation method. The isolated patchouly alcohol was identified by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry method. The isolation gave 6.23% yield of patchouly alcohol, and the purity of isolated patchouly alcohol was 95.68%.</text>

<text> Abstract - Indoor air contains a complex mixture of microorganisms, microorganism fragments, and by products such as molds, bacteria, endotoxins, mycotoxins, and volatile microbial organic compounds. Airborne fungi and bacteria can be toxic, allergenic and/or infectious. A research was conducted to determine the number and types of airborne fungal spores in Buildings of Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto, Nigeria. Five (5) areas were chosen within the University for the Survey, these were student Hostel, Staff Quarters, Botanical garden, Microbiology laboratory and city campus of Usmanu Danfodiyo University. . A total number of fifteen (15) petri dishes containing potato dextrose agar each were vertically placed in each sampler and exposed at end of each height and site for 10 and 20 minutes respectively.  A total of thirteen (13) different fungal specie were identified namely; Aspergillus niger, A. flavus, A fumigates, A. ustus, A. terreus, Fusarium solani, F. oxysporum, Alterneria altenata, Rhizopus oryzae,  R. stolonifer, Helminthosporum sp., Penicillum candidum and Absedia corymbifera. Aspergillus niger had the highest frequency of occurrence of (14.9%), Helminthosporus species had the least frequency of occurrence of (1.5%). Conclusively it was observed that the concentration of fungal spores was high in the upper surface than the ground level at the time of the survey.</text>

<text>Candida albicans is a dimorphic fungus that can grow in a wide range of temperature. In such case, this microorganism has the potential to produce enzymes that able to function at elevated temperature. These enzymes are also essential in the field of molecular biology and recombinant technologies. Therefore, the enzymes produced by Candida albicans could be applied in the polymerase chain reaction (PCR). The PCR is the most widely used in DNA amplification. In this study, Candida spp. were successfully isolated and collected from Hospital Universiti Sains Malaysia, Kubang Kerian, Kelantan, Malaysia. Different culture media were used to identify the morphology of colony. Based on the colonies growth on chromogenic agar, Candida sp. was identified. Microscopic examination (light and scanning microscopy) was carried out to identify the morphology of the isolate. A presumptive identification of germ tube test was performed to find out the dimorphic and pathogenicity characteristic of isolate. The formation of germ tubes from the isolate showed positive result of Candida albicans. A commercial Analytical Profile Index (API) Candida identification kit was used in this study as a phenotypic identification of Candida sp. The result of API Candida was confirmed that the isolate was the Candida albicans. Candida albicans was successfully isolated and identified phenotypically in this study for future in house helicase production.</text>

<text>Omega-3 fatty acids such as eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) are essential fatty acids with numerous health benefits. The main sources of these fatty acids are fish and fish oils. However, fish supply is limited and the availability is uncertain. There are two main problems with regard to fish supply: overfishing and mercury contamination. In addition, food enrichment with fish oil is apparently challenging due to sensitivity of fish oil to oxidation, and fishy smell which make them less attractive to consumers. Based on above problems, alternative sources of EPA and DHA must be found. Analternative for omega-3 fatty acids are microalgae. This research aims to isolate, identify, and find microalgae biodiversity that are able to produce omega-3 fatty acids in their cells. Microalgae were isolated from fallen, senescent leaves of mangrove tree (Kandelia candel) in two locations in Aceh. The colonies were identified morphologically using light and stereo microscopes with 1000x magnifications. The results were compared with those in literatures. This research has isolated and identified some genus of microalgae thatwere predicted belong to order Labyrinthulida and family Thraustochytriidae. Morphological observations have also confirm identification of one fungi, genus Mortierella. All identified microalgae and fungi are omega-3 fatty acids producers, mainly EPA and DHA</text>
