Fermentasi memegang peranan yang sangat penting terhadap penentuan kualitas produk olahan kakao. . Khamir (yeast) adalah mikroorganisme perintis yang menumbuhi biji kakao pada 24 jam pertama. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengisolasi dan mengidentifikasi jenis khamir yang terlibat di dalam proses fermentasi kakao Aceh. Metode yang digunakan adalah identifikasi secara konvensional dengan mencocokkan hasil penelitian yang didapatkan dengan litaratur yang mendukung. Penelitian ini terdiri dari tiga tahapan proses, yakni : (1) Proses fermentasi kakao. (2) Teknik sampling, dan (3) Isolasi dan identifikasi isolat berdasarkan sifat morfologi, fisiologi dan biokimia. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat enam isolat yang dominan tumbuh dan berasal dari empat genus khamir yang berbeda. Ke empat jenis khamir tersebut adalah genus Candida sp., Saccharomyces sp., Kluyveromyces sp., serta satu genus khamir yang belum teridentifikasi secara konvensional.Kata Kunci : Kakao, Isolasi, Identifikasi, Khamir.Cocoa (Theobroma cacao L.) is one of agricultural crops grown in Indonesia. Fermentation plays a very important role in determining the quality of processed cocoa products. Yeast is a pioneer microorganism which is grown out of cocoa beans in the first 24 hours. This study aimed to isolate and identify the type of yeasts involved in the cocoa fermentation process in Aceh. The method used was conventionally identified by comparing the results obtained with supporting literatures. This study consisted of three stages, namely cocoa fermentation process, sampling technique, and isolation and identification of isolates based on morphology, physiology and biochemistry. The results showed that there were six isolates which were predominantly grown from four different yeasts genus. Those four genera of yeast were Candida sp., Saccharomyces., Kluyveromyces and an unidentified genus.Keywords: Cocoa, Isolation, Identification, Yeast. Kebiasaan tersebut sangat sulit untuk dihilangkan. Anak usia Sekolah Dasar cenderung tidak selektif dalam memilih jajanan yang bersih dan sehat. Bakteri merupakan salah satu pencemar yang berpotensi dalam kerusakan makanan dan minuman. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengisolasi dan mengidentifikasi bakteri Salmonella sp yang berasal dari makanan jajanan Sekolah Dasar di Banda Aceh. Penelitian telah dilakukan di Laboratorium Mikrobiologi Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Syiah Kuala, sejak Desember 2011 hingga April 2012. Sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah 30 makanan jajanan yang diambil dari 10 sekolah berbeda menggunakan metode Simple Random Sampling. Metode yang digunakan adalah pengamatan langsung. Penelitian ini menggunakan media Salmonella Shigella Agar, serta identifikasi dengan pewarnaan gram dan uji biokimiawi. Data hasil penelitian dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dari 30 sampel yang diuji, terdapat 18 sampel terkontaminasi Salmonella sp. The objective of the research was to evaluate and characterize of a Lactic Acid Bacteria isolated frombroiler’s small intestine. The research was done by three steps : (1) Isolated Lactic Acid Bacteria, (2) Gram colourize and microscopic observation and (3) Inhibitory test with pathogen bacteria. The isolation of lactic acid bacteria was proceed by clone from broiler’s small intestine with MRS Broth for 24 hours, thinned until 10 ̄ 9with serial number, invested in MRS jell, purify by streak plate method and storage the lactic acid bacteria in an MRS angle jell. Gram colourize was done with crystal violet liquid, Iodium, Alkohol 95% and  Safranin, and also microscopic observation was done by electron microscope with 40 zooming. Inhibitory test with pathogen bacteria was evaluated with  Escherichia coli as testing bacteria in 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 24 dan 48 hours incubation period. The isolation result showed two sample of isolate (A1 dan A2) and consist of the observation in shape as well as colour of the bacteria growth, for sample of isolate A1 the colonies had coccus  and white colour. The isolate of A2 had sarcinar. After that, gram colouring was done and microscopic observation were identified into gram-negative bacteria became bacill and bacill cocco. Inhibitory test with pathogen bacteria showed that it produced antimicrobial with 11 mm clearing zone diameter. Probiotics bacteria are beneficial microbes to improve microbial balance in the digestive tract. The objective of the research was to isolate and characterize of potential probiotic bacteria in mackerel fish (Rastrelliger sp.). The research was done from April to August 2012 at Laboratory of Microbiology Syiah Kuala University, Banda Aceh. Isolation and characterization used dilution and scratches quadrant methods. The result showed that there were five potential isolates of probiotic bacteria varied morphological colony and cell. In this paper, four secondary metabolites have been isolated and characterized from a marine Streptomyces sp. B5798, namely phydroxyphenylacetic acid (2), indole-3-carboxylic acid (3), indole-3-acetic acid (4), and Macrolactin A (5), respectively. Two of them are common compounds, namely indole-3-carboxylic acid (3) and indole-3-acetic acid (4). The 3,4 dihydroxybenzaldehyde is a degradation product of phydroxyphenylacetic (2) in microorganism. Macrolactin A (5) showed cytotoxicity against brine shrimps test (A. salina). All structures of the isolated compounds were elucidated based on spectroscopic and mass spectrometry data. The research was conducted since November 2010 until Apryl 2011 at Microbiology Laboratory ofMathematics and Sciences Faculty, University of Syiah Kuala. The method used is experimental method. Locations of water sample taken are at sea, river, and embankment which taken in some areas around Banda Aceh and Aceh Besar. The results showed that there are 18 pure cultuated chitinolitic bacteria isolates. And the results of morphologycal bakteria colony showed that all isolates were circle shape colony. It was found that the flat shape of colony is 14 isolates and 4 serrated. The sizes of colony were found from 1,0 mm until 3,5 mm. The white isolate are 13 and 5 yellowish. The most of isolates are negative gram which bacil and coccus cell shape.
