<text>Few road traffic studies were conducted in Jordan, but the issue is drawing an increasing attention due to its growing magnitude and various impacts as a result of the high increase in vehicular traffic. This study further investigates the issue with the aim of providing an understanding of its social impact on residents of Amman, the capital of Jordan. Traffic noise levels were measured at selected locations along urban arterials and a social survey was performed to examine the reactions and attitudes of the neighboring residents towards these levels of traffic noise. The survey included social characteristics of individuals, and their attitudes towards traffic noise, and how it impacted their daily activities. A predesigned questionnaire was used for this purpose which included questions to evaluate the awareness of respondents of the problem and its environmental and health impacts. The financial impact that residents perceive of noise and the need for attenuation measures were also addressed. The results of the study also revealed that the impact of traffic noise on people can cause annoyance while performing daily activities were 24% of respondents reported that they get annoyed by traffic while working, 49% while resting, 34% while talking to others, 31% while talking on the phone, 39% while reading, 38% while watching TV and 53% of respondents get annoyed while sleeping. The respondents have also pointed out the following effects of noise: twist in mood (53%), headache (36%), and difficulty in concentration (40%). About 57% of respondents think traffic noise reduces the value of their properties and a total of 31% are willing to sell their house at reduced cost. About 59% of respondents consider attenuation measures necessary, and in order to reduce the noise, about 54% of respondents were willing to pay for attenuation measures which reflects the public awareness of the issue magnitude. Keywords: traffic noise, noise level, survey, social impacts.</text>

The research aim was to test the ability of the potential osmotic solution and fungicides to reduce seed germination. Completely randomized design with two factors and three replications, i.e: PEG 6000 (w/v): 0%, 15%, 30%, 45%, 60% (potential osmotic solution) and fungicide (active ingredients were pyraclostrobin + metiram ) (g / 1 kg seed): 0 g, 10 g, 20 g, 30 g and 40 g, were applied. The results showed that PEG 30% can inhibit seed germination up to 9.07% and 37.47% and fungicides 40 g/1kg can reduce fungal attack during storage of 12 and 16 days.  Combination of PEG-6000 30% and fungicides 40g / 1 kg could maintain seed storability by pressing the seeds germination up to 10.67% and fungal attacks up to 18.00% during storage of 16 days with 96.80% germination.</text>

The implementation of disaster risk reduction (DRR) aims to create a school community that is alert to the disaster. This study aims to determine the relationship of the implementation of the application of Disaster Risk Reduction program with the preparedness of Disaster Preparedness School (DPS) community. The population in this study is school community that is actively involved in DRR programs in a DPS which is SDN 2 Banda Aceh, and non-DPS school community which is SDN 27 Banda Aceh. Sampling used was purposive random sampling, consisting of the principal, 10 teachers and 30 students. The method used in this research was descriptive-quantitative method. Data collection was conducted by issuing preparedness questionnaire, which consists of these parameters: knowledge, attitudes, actions, responsibilities and policy parameters, as well as facilities and infrastructure to measure the implementation of DRR programs. Moreover, the observation and documentation was conducted as well. Data analysis used was descriptive statistics to analyze the level of preparedness, and Product Moment correlation test to determine the relationship between parameters of preparedness with implementation of DRR programs. The results showed that the level of preparedness measured by several factors, such as knowledge, attitudes, actions, and responsibilities of DPS school community can be categorized into very prepared for disasters. This is supported by the significant relationship between the application of DRR with the school community preparedness in SDN 2 Banda Aceh, including policy factors, as well as the infrastructure that supports DRR programs. While the non-DPS school community is categorized into almost ready for disasters which was measured by the same factors. This is due to the lack of implementation of DRR programs, so there is no connection with the school community preparedness in that school. From these results, it can be concluded that the more frequent the application of PRB, the higher the level of preparedness of school community. It is recommended to stakeholders and relevant institutions of education that it is better to conduct implementation of DRR programs and DPS mentoring in all schools in order to create a sustainable preparedness culture. Keywords: Disaster Risk Reduction, preparedness, school community.</text>

Duck eggs taken from the poultry business in Meunasah Krueng, water fence, Lambaro, Aceh Besar. Then each egg was placed in an incubator unit in the three experimental groups, namely low humidity (57/58% RH), intermediate humidity (67/68% RH) and high humidity (71/72% RH). Incubation process done manually with temperature 38 oC incubator. Eggs were coded X and O adjacent to facilitate marking a reversal in current twice a day. Primary data retrieval from the first day until the fifteenth day by weighing the eggs and using electronic scales. Changes in egg weight reduction on the fifteenth day following (10.666%), (3.853%) and (2.859%) for the treatment of low humidity, intermediate andhigh, then the day of hatching eggs weigh hatching day old duck also showed that the weight is also affected by incubation and humidity differences by ANOVA analysis it can be concluded that the changes in egg weight reduction greatly influence the hatching duck weight difference and the difference so long incubation energy hatching day old duckling have more energy at low humidity (57/58% RH).</text>
