The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of vitamin E inmice exposed plumbum. This study is a laboratory experimental research whichused a complete random design. In this study, vitamin E was given orallyeveryday for 7 days. Then plumbum was given intraperitoneally two hours aftervitamin E. Examination of urea and creatinine was done 2 days after. We reflected from a project on incorporating farmers’ indigenous knowledge into sustainable agriculture development in small islands context and four times visits in Kisar island (1999-2011). Critical question raised is to what extent the knowledge is valid and relevance. The notion of the study was a phenomenological study. A phenomenological analysis is purely description of an immediate lived experience and an expression of its meaning (Berger and Luckman, 1976; van Manen, 1990). Rationality in phenomenology is justified by an understanding of the essence of such experience rather than just causal explanation. It recognizes the important of the context and the individual construction of perception and meaning in that context. Snowball technique was applied to find the respondents or indigenousknowledge holders. Data analysis was conducted descriptively using Ethnograph v.6. The results showed that the farmers forecast the rainfall by observing the onzet and the appearance of the Pleiades stars or the seven sisters and gauging the size and the brightness of the seventh sister of the Pleiades to predictthe characteristics of the rainfall. Penelitian ini menggunakan 12 ekor ayam kampung jantan yang dibagi kedalam empat perlakuan : P0 (pakan 521), P1 (pakan 521 + 200 mg ENERVON-C/kg pakan), P2 (pakan 521 + 200 mg SANTA-e/kg pakan) dan P3 (pakan 521 + 100 mg ENERVON-C/kg pakan dan 100 mg SANTA-e/kg pakan). Pakan diberikan dengan penambahan ENERVON-C dan SANTA-e selama 2 minggu sebelum dilakukan koleksi semen. Selama penelitian ayam diberikan pakan 521 100 gram/hari, masing-masing 50 gram/ekor pada pagi dan sore hari. Ayam makan dan minum secara ad libitum. Three types of traditional foods, i.e. dange, surabeng andonde-onde were supplemented with fish bone gelatin at concentrations of 0, 5, 10, 15 and 20% (w/w) with three replicates for each treatment and for each type of foods. The protein contents were analyzed using micro-kjeldahlmethod whereas the consumer acceptability was determined organoleptically by employing 15 panelists. Data on the protein contents were subjected to ne-way Annova, while those of consumer acceptability were analyzed descriptively using percentage of frequency of occurrence. Results indicated that addition of fish bone gelatin significantly increased the protein contents of the foods and that the protein content of each type of foods was differ between the gelatin concentration treatments. The protein contents of foods were increased by 1.68-4.77 folds, and may be predicted using a simple regression formula: Y=0.578x + 6.037, R2=0.978 for dange; Y=0.660x + 4.068, R2=0.992 for surabeng; and Y=0.554x +5.39, R2=0.967 for onde-onde. The level of consumer acceptability showed that the addition of 10% of fish bone gelatin into each of the three traditional foods produced food products with good acceptability levels. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menjelaskan apa saja pertimbangan hakim dalam menjatuhkan pidana bersyarat dan untuk menjelaskan alasan hakim tidak menetapkan syarat khusus sebagai salah satu syarat dalam penjatuhan pidana bersyarat di Pengadilan Negeri Banda Aceh.Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian hukum yuridis empiris, yaitu suatu penelitian ilmiah untuk menemukan kebenaran berdasarkan penelitian pelaksanaan di lapangan guna memperoleh data primer melalui wawancara dengan 4 responden dan 2 informan.Hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa pertimbangan hakim dalam menjatuhkan pidana bersyarat terdiri dari beberapa faktor yakni; 1) Ancaman pidananya tidak terlalu berat, 2) Adanya perdamaian antara si korban dan si terdakwa, 3) motif pelaku, dan 4) bukan perbuatan yang meresahkan masyarakat. Alasan hakim tidak menetapkan syarat khusus dikarena syarat khusus bersifat fakultatif dan apabila terjadi ganti kerugian di luar persidangan maka tidak dicantumkan dalam amar putusan, kecuali ganti kerugian yang diakibatkan oleh si korban menggugat kembali secara perdata. Disarankan kepada hakim agar mencari alternatif baru sebagai bentuk penganti penjatuhan pidana penjara pendek, diharapkan kepada hakim harus lebih sering menjatuhkan pidana bersyarat dan diharapkan dilakukan evaluasi terhadap terpidana terutama dalam proses pengawasan yang dilakukan oleh pejabat/lembaga yang berwenang agar proses pembinaan efektif dan syarat-syaratnya terpenuhi. Anaplasma marginale infects the erythrocytes and causes severe anaemia, weakness, loss of appetite, fever, depression, abortion, decreased milk production, constipation, jaundice and sometimes death. In Malaysia, data on A. marginale infection is still behind compared to other parasites such as nematodes. Anaplasmosis in livestock has received little attention in Malaysia with only occasional reports in cattle. In addition, the determinants of tick- and fly-borne transmission are not well understood. Looking into this possibility, this study was carried out to investigate and to compare the prevalence rate of bovine anaplasmosis in Malaysia. A seroprevalence study on bovine anaplasmosis was conducted at the Veterinary Research Institute, Malaysia. Sera of various cattle breeds were collected from farms and abattoirs to be tested for the presence of A. marginale. Competitive enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (c-ELISA) Anaplasma antibody test kits by VMRD, Inc. were used for this study, where antibodies to A. marginale from sample sera inhibit the binding of horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-labelled monoclonal antibody to the Anaplasma antigen coated on the plastic wells. A total number of 267 serum samples were tested and 79.4% were positive for bovine anaplasmosis. Results showed that the infection percentage is 100% in Pahang while the state with lowest infection percentage is Sabah with 59.2%. A comparison is done between Peninsular Malaysia with Sabah and Sarawak. The infection percentage in Peninsular Malaysia is higher at 87% while Sabah and Sarawak has an infection percentage of 60%. However, there is no significant difference in the rate of infections. The high number of cases in Peninsular Malaysia may be caused by the lack of strict control measures due to dependence on modern tools and drugs, while cases in Sabah and Sarawak may be due to traditional practices carried out frequently that may cause iatrogenic transmission. More samples should be obtained in order to validate the results. In addition, annual studies must be done to monitor the status of A. marginale prevalence in local cattle that is medically and economically significant to Malaysia.
