Hossain, Mohammad Bellal Date A point or period of time associated with an event in the lifecycle of the resource 2011-12-15 Description An account of the resource The aim of this study was to identify the level of health care worker`s (HCW) stigmatized and discriminatory (S&D) attitude towards people living with HIV (PLHIV) and the factors that influenced this attitude. This research was conducted at the Dr. Zainoel Abidin General Hospital (RSUDZA) in Banda Aceh province of Indonesia. A cross-sectional study design was adopted for this research. Eighty nine HCWs were included in this study and they were selected purposively. Pearson correlation analysis, analysis of variance or independent sample t test analysis was used according to the type of data. We found that the level of S&D attitude towards PLHIV in RSUDZA is high. Based on the Least Significant Difference Test, the average score of the answers between nurses and general practitioners and between nurses and medical students was significantly different(p=0.05). Pearson correlation analysis showed that the levels of S&D attitude towards PLHIV was positively correlated with age (r=0.219, p=0.04) and irrational fear of HIV transmission (r=0.352, p=0.001) and negatively correlated with knowledge about HIV/AIDS (r=-0.336, p=0.001). Pearson correlation analysis also found that knowledge of HIV/AIDS negatively correlated with the irrational fear of HIV transmission (r=0.382, p=0.000). In addition, the level of S&D attitude towards PLHIV was also associated with marital status of HCWs (p=0.020). Gender, education level, religion and the importance of religion in HCW lives wasn`t significantly affect to the level of S&D attitude towards PLHIV in HCW. We concluded that the factors that influence the level of S&D attitude towards PLHIV among the HCW are age, marital status, knowledge of HIV/AIDS, irrational fear of HIV transmission and HCWs occupations. The purpose of this study is to know the effort of society to solve DHF disease in Syiah Kuala District of Banda Aceh. The design of this study is descriptive by approach of cross sectional. Decreasing incurredin two ways: the direct damages that are caused by the insectfeeding on the plants and the indirect damages caused to potato planting materials as a virus vector. There are different methods for controlling green peach aphids, all of them relying inthe use of chemicals and this method makes food production contaminated by pesticide residu. So, using non-chemical methods of cultivation contribute to “ecological” food production.Intercropping is one way of reducing pest insect populations in such vegetable crops.This study was conducted to determine the population dynamics of Myzuspersicae (Sulzer) on Intercropping system of potato plant with other vegetables plant on Karo Highland. The host plant was cultivar Granola of potato and the intercropping plant respectively were cabbage, mustard, celery, onions, carrot and bean. The results showed that M. persicae was consistently at different densities in different intercropping plant on potato. The aphid was first recorded at three week until planting. The kind of inter cropping culture plants significantly reduced the number of aphid. The lowest number of aphid found respectively inintercroppingpotatoesandmustard, potatoesandonions, andpotatoesandcelery. There was 0.80 aphids /leaf, 1,12aphids/leaf, 1,48 aphids/leaf. At the 2nd observation found the number of aphid was lowest atpolyculture potatoes and mustards were 1,68 aphid/leaf, at popatoes and onions were 3,28 aphid/leaf, at popatoes and celery 3,00 aphid/leaf. The number of aphids steadily increased with significant at differencesintercroppingplant till the 3rd observation (9 weeks until planting) respectively where 2,80aphid/leaf, 3,42 aphid / leaf and 4,20 aphid/leafwere recorded. Observation for natural enemies of M. persicaeshowed that fewnatural enemiesfound in theagro-ecosystem. There are Episyrphusbalteatus, Chrysoperlacarnea, phidiusmatricarieae and Coccinellaseptempunctata. The population density of all of the natural enemies was highest at polyculture than monoculture of potato. After that, as the population of M. persicae started decline, the same trend was followed by all of its natural enemies.
