Coffee plantation has been grown in several areas in Indonesia, including Aceh province, and has become one of the most important plantation products with promising economic value. Both Arabica and Robusta are found in Aceh, however Arabica coffee grown more in the area because of its popularity in International market. This popularity is related to Arabica coffee distinctive flavor and aroma. To grow well, Arabica coffee requires land with altitude 1000 m or more above sea level. Therefore, in Aceh, it is grown in the Gayo Plateau with total area more than 90.000 hectares.  As International market requires higher standard coffee, there is a need to provide a better quality coffee with a better taste, flavor and aroma.  Several coffee varieties have been cultivated in the area for a long time, however the relation between variety and taste &amp; flavor has not been fully investigated. Other factors that may affect the taste, flavor and aroma is processing technique applied during postharvest and handling. Both wet hulling and dry hulling are practiced by small holders and farmers in the area. This study is aimed to investigate taste and flavor of Arabica coffee as affected by varieties and processing technique. The already grown varieties used in this study were Ateng Super (V1), Bergendal (V2), Bor-Bor (V3), Tim-Tim (V4) and Lini_S (V5). The processing techniques to be considered were Dry Hulling (TA) and Wet Hulling (TB). Observations to be recorded were organoleptic test (fragrance, acidity, body, flavor, aftertaste, balance), pH analysis and caffeine content. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektifitas model Teams Games Tournaments (TGT) dalam pembelajaran materi operasi hitung bilangan bulat di kelas V SD Negeri 14 Banda Aceh. Subjek penelitian adalah kelas V SD Negeri 14 Banda Aceh tahun ajaran 2013-2014 berjumlah 20 siswa. Data kegiatan pembelajaran di kelas diperoleh dengan observasi aktivitas siswa selama pembelajaran, memberikan tes belajar, angket respons siswa dan kemampuan guru dalam mengelola pembelajaran. Data yang diperoleh diolah dengan menggunakan persentase sesuai dengan kriteria keefektifan yang telah ditentukan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) aktivitas siswa selama proses pembelajaran dengan menggunakan model TGT berkategori efektif, (2) hasil belajar siswa tuntas yaitu 85% siswa yang tuntas secara klasikal, (3) respon siswa terhadap model pembelajaran Teams Games Tournaments (TGT) adalah positif dengan persentase > 80%, (4) kemampuan guru dalam mengelola pembelajaran berkategori baik dengan hasil rata-rata 3,88 dan 4,00. Calophyllum macrophyllum Scheff is an Indonesia original plant growing on Sumatera and we found in Kerinci mount. One flavanal has been isolated from ethyl acetate fraction from the stem-bark of Calophyllum macrophyllumScheff. The compound is 5,7,2’,5’- tetrahedrons flavan-3-ol, brown crystal with melting point &gt; 300oC. The compound was extracted using maceration technique, then fractionated using chromatography and purified by crystallization using two solvents. Molecule structure was determined using physical data and spectroscopy methods including UV, IR and 1H and 13C-NMR. Ethyl acetate fraction and isolate were assayed for inhibitory activity on -glycosidase enzyme. The potential inhibition effect is got each other with IC50 26,198 =g/ml and 12,19 =g/ml. Masing-masing kelompok terdiri dari 3 ekor ayam sebagai ulangan. Pakan diberikan dengan penambahan vitamin C selama 2 minggu sebelum dilakukan koleksi semen. Selama penelitian ayam diberikan pakan 100 gram dalam satu hari, pagi 50 gram dan sore 50 gram. Ayam makan dan minum secara adlibitum. Penampungan semen dilakukan dengan cara masase 1 kali dalam seminggu. Setelah penampungan segera dilakukan evaluasi konsentrasi, motilitas, dan abnormalitas spermatozoa. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis varian (ANAVA) dan jika berpengaruh dilanjutkan dengan uji lanjut Duncan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan penambahan vitamin C dalam pakan dapat meningkatkan konsentrasi dan motilitas spermatozoa serta penurunan pada persentase abnormalitas. Dari hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa penambahan vitamin C dalam pakan dapat meningkatkan persentase motilitas dan penurunan persentase abnormalitas spermatozoa ayam kampung. Masing-masing perlakuan terdiri dari 15 ekor anak ayam broiler. Parameter yang diukur adalah pertambahan berat badan, konsumsi ransum dan konversi ransum setiap minggu selama masa pengamatan lima (5) minggu. Data dianalisis dengan analisis varian. Dari hasil analisis statistic menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan, waktu pengamatan dan interaksi berpengaruh secara nyata (P < 0,05) terhadap berat badan, konsumsi ransum dan konversi ransum. Berdasarkan penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa konsentrasi pliek u 0,5% memberikan pertambahan berat badan tertinggi, sebaliknya dengan konsentrasi 0,5% memberikan nilai konsumsi ransum dan konversi ransum terendah. Ada beberapa praktikum yang dilaksanakan dalam blok ini, salah satunya adalah praktikum disaster victim identification (DVI). Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui reaksi mahasiswa dan instruktur terhadap pelaksanaan praktikum DVI. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode deep interview. Analisis dilakukan secara deskriptif menggunakan content analysis dengan model Miles dan Huberman. Dari 13 hasil wawancara didapatkan beberapa tema di antaranya: 1) sebagian besar mahasiswa telah memahami tujuan, manfaat, dan urgensi dari praktikum DVI, 2) pengarahan pra-praktikum dan penjadwalan dirasakan cukup memadai, walau masih diperlukan perbaikan dan 3) pentingnya perbaikan sisi kompetensi instruktur, panduan praktikum, metode penilaian, dan pemahaman teori tentang DVI. The tolerance of Acehnese local rice on salinity stress was studied with using osmotic condition in the method of in vitro germination. NaCl was applied on medium MS for the salinity stress simulation for studying the capability of the various osmotic conditions in selection of some Acehnese local rice for the tolerance of salinity stress. The objective of this research was to simulate with in vitro method the tolerance of some varieties of Acehnese local rice on salinity stress during seed germination. Sixteen varieties of Acehnese local rice was sterilized and germinated in vitro for tens days in 250 ml bottle containing 25 ml of medium MS with applying NaCl as concentration 0, 0.5, 1.0, 1.5 and 2.0 g/liter. The varieties of Acehnese local rice that used in this research are Ciherang as control variety, and Acong, Padi Mas, Aweuh, Rom Mokot, Bo Santeut, Sigudang, Bo 100, Sanbei, Sigupai, Manggeng, Sipirok, Padi Berselona, Salah Mayang Ru, Pandrah, dan Sikuneng. The results of this study showed that the tolerance of Acehnese local rice different significantly on observed viability of the seeds: seed growth rate, germination capacity, growth velocity, growth unity, and seedling fresh weight. The osmotic condition of NaCl resulted an effective method to simulate the tolerance of salinity stress for Acehnese local rice using NaCl in the method of in vitro cultivation. The solution with 2.0 g/l of NaCl that used to study the responds of Acehnese local rice to the tolerance of salinity stress was obtained as the best concentration.
