Date A point or period of time associated with an event in the lifecycle of the resource 2012-11-30 Description An account of the resource As North Sumatera Province has focused on agriculture in its development, a lot of agriculture researchs need to be conducted.   A research of biogas sludge ( from cattle dung) application on spinach plants was done on February until April 2012.  The research’s objective were to determine chemical quality of biogas sludge as organic fertilizer, the growth response of spinach plants and the economic benefits of biogas sludge.  The research was used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with seven replications and five treatments. The results showed that chemical quality of biogas sludge were as follows : N, P, K, C and pH 1.25% , 0.065,  0.097%,  27.26%, 9.02.  C/N ration was 21.80.  These chemical quality indicated biogas sludge can be used as good organic fertilizer. Natural zeolites are chosen as ion exchanger because it is abundantly provided in Indonesia, especially in Lampung. The influences of reaction temperature and stirrer speed toward reaction rate constant, mass transfer coefficient and effective diffusivity in batch ion exchange process, were analysed by using shrinking core model. Processes run by mixing zeolite and ammonium solution in a stirred tank at 30, 40 and 50oC with stirrer speed variation of 700, 800 and 900 rpm. Every 5 up to 60 min, the sample was taken for ammonium ion analyses. The results show that mass transfer, intraparticle diffusion and ion exchange reaction resistance influenced the overall rate of reaction. The results also show that reaction temperature and stirrer speed influenced the reaction rate constant, mass transfer coefficient and effective diffusivity. The correlations of them are stated in simple empirical equation. Shrinking core model was good to describe the ion exchange kinetics between NH4+ and H+ ion in natural zeolite from Lampung with the average error range of 1,15 % – 3,71%.Keywords: ion exchange kinetics, Lampung natural zeolite, shrinking core model. Pengambilan data dan identifikasi epifauna dilakukan pada bulan Januari 2015. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode purposive sampling untuk menentukan stasiun pengamatan. Analisis komposisi spesies epifauna menggunakan rumus komposisi persentase, sedangkan analisis tingkat kesamaan menggunakan rumus indeks similaritas. Hasil penelitian di perairan Tapaktuan diperoleh 34 spesies epifauna dari 23 famili dan 8 kelas, komposisi tertinggi terdapat pada kelas Gastropoda sebesar 64%. Epifauna yang di temukan di perairan Labuhan Haji diperoleh 30 spesies epifauna dari 19 famili dan 6 kelas, komposisi tertinggi terdapat pada kelas Gastropoda sebesar 73%. Indeks kesamaan epifauna di kawasan perairan Tapaktuan berkisar antara 18,9% - 44,4%, sedangkan indeks kesamaan di kawasan perairan Labuhan Haji berkisar antara 25% - 68,7%. Kesimpulan (1) komposisi spesies epifauna di perairan Tapaktuan diperoleh 34 spesies epifauna dari 23 famili dan 8 kelas, sedangkan komposisi spesies epifauna di perairan Labuhan Haji diperoleh 30 spesies epifauna dari 19 famili dan 6 kelas. The aims of this research were: to explore growth promoting endophitic bacteria isolated from root of red chilly planted at swampy land, Ogan Ilir, South Sumatera, and to study the ability of resulted isolates to promote growth of red chilly by bioassay evaluation; and to evaluate the ability of resulted isolates to produce IAA in vitro. Different stage of red chilly as sources of endophitic bacteria samples were collected from various locations of chilly farms in Ogan Ilir District, South Sumatera. The results of this research proved that endophitic bacteria derived from root red chilly tissues acted as growth promoting, neutral and growth inhibiting bacteria. First, second and third of selection resulted in 8, 6, and 3 consortia of endophitic bacteria, which consistently promoted the growth of red chilly. The amount of IAA resulted by S248 isolates of endophitic bacteria (3.36 mg kg-1) as significantly lower than those of S348 isolates (4.16 mg kg-1) and S830 isolates (3.93 mg kg-1). The amount of IAA resulted by S348 isolates did not significantly differ from that of S830 isolates. Endophitic bacteria identified from S348 isolates were Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Bacillus cereus.
