Many techniques for determining the level of rabies antibodies have been described, and all of the methods used rabies viruses as antigen. Indeed attenuated viruses can revert to a more virulent form, and inactivated virus may produce serious side effects. Anti-idiotype Ab can induce protective immune response against rabies virus, its means that anti-idiotype Ab can be used as surrogate antigen in serological test.The aim of this study is to prepare the anti-idiotype antibody (anti-idiotype Ab) as diagnostic kit in rabies serological test. Polyclonal anti-idiotype Ab were prepared in laying chickens and purified using affinity chromatography column for IgY. Rabbit anti dog immunoglobuline were prepared used New Zeeland White strain, and dog anti rabies serum were prepared from rabies immunized dog. For the preparation of the kit, it takes a few stages, i.e. the making of stocks A, stocks B and prototype diagnostic kit. Stocks A is a mixture of S. aureus Cowan I intact in solution of Tris Buffer HCl with rabbit anti dog serum in various comparisons (v/v). Stocks B is a mixture of rabies anti-idiotype Ab with rabies antibody (IgG anti rabies) are harvested from dog.Comparison of the obtained between whole S. aureus Cowan I and rabbit serum anti dog is 4~6:2~4. Cengkeh merupakan tanaman herbal yang dapat menjadi alternatif terapi kandidiasis karena kandungan minyak atsiri dan tanin yang terkandung di dalamnya. Penelitian yang bersifat eksperimental laboratoris ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengkaji efek antifungal ekstrak bunga cengkeh dengan metode soxhletasi terhadap pertumbuhan C. albicans. Pada penelitian ini digunakan metode difusi cakram. Hasil analisis ANAVA menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak bunga cengkeh berpengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan C. albicans dan dari hasil uji Duncan menunjukkan bahwa secara umum ada perbedaan konsentrasi kecuali konsentrasi 50 % dan 60 % karena distribusi inokulum yang tidak merata pada media SDA. Konsentrasi hambat minimum terjadi pada konsentrasi 10 % yaitu 19,6 mm. Adanya daya hambat ini terjadi karena kandungan kimia dalam cengkeh dapat tersari lebih banyak dengan metode soxhletasi. Solution of Polyethylene glycol 6000 (PEG 6000) have osmotic potential and osmotic adjustment that is used as a coating material is expected to be a preservative during storage. The purpose of this study was to test the effect of polyethylene glycol 6000 in inducing secondary dormancy by reducing the seeds germination and fungus growth to maintain the seed viability in storage period and to test seed viability and vigor after storage period. First stage of the study was using nonfactorial completely randomized design with four levels of polyethylene glycol with four replications, namely:PEG 6000 (w / v): 0%, 15%, 30%, 45%; The second step, was germination phase in germination tub after the storage period. The first study showed that concentration of 15% PEG 6000 to 45% were able to induced secondary dormancy by delaying seed germination from 0.67% to 0.33%, that significantly different from the 0% PEG 6000 (17.67%) that was able to reduced fungal seed from 16.33 to 26.33% andwas not significantly different in each treatment. The second study showed that PEG 6000 can maintain viability and vigor of seeds with seed germination above 97%, seedlings height 22.40 cm and number of leaves was 7.16. PEG 30% is the best concentration to increase the shelf life period of rubber seed andmaintained morphological characteristics after storage period. The higher the concentration of PEG 6000 the higher were the seed viability during shelf. The morphology and growth of the seedlings, had the same adaptability to the tub germination in planting medium. As other types of native starch that lack of physical and chemical characteristics, the sweet potato flour then is very limited in use. To improve the starch characteristics, it can be made by modifying the starch physically. This study was focused on modification of starch phisically by using autoclaving-cooling method with differ in steaming times (15 and 30 minutes) and drying methods (oven and sun drying). Subjek penelitian adalah 3 SMAN yang berada di kawasan pesisir. Sampel adalah kelas X dari sekolah tersebut masing-masing di ambil 2 kelas, sehingga jumlahnya 6 kelas. 3 kelas diajarkan dengan metode karyawisata dan 3 kelas diajarkan dengan metode konvensional. Sampel siswa ditetapkan dengan teknik purposive sample. Setiap kelas dipilih 10 siswa yang nilainya homogen, sehingga jumlah sampel 60 siswa. 30 siswa diajarkan dengan metode karyawisata dan 30 siswa diajarkan dengan metode konvensional. Data pengetahuan diperoleh dengan tes dan data sikap diperoleh dengan angket. Analisis data dilakukan dengan uji-t. Hasil penelitian di peroleh. t-hitung > t-tabel pada taraf 5 % (6.333 > 2.002).
