<text>The present study aimed to determine quality and parameters traits of both fresh and frozen semen in 4-year old Brahman bulls. Semen was collected from 5 bulls twice a week using artificial vagina in Ungaran ArtificialInsemination Center, Central Java, Indonesia. Immediately after collection, samples were evaluated for semen volume, color, odor, viscosity, mass movement, individual movement, spermatozoa concentration and livespermatozoa percentage. Sperm concentration was measured using a spectrophotometer. Good quality fresh semen was processed to be frozen semen. Parameters evaluated for frozen semen include spermatozoa individualmovement, live spermatozoa, and abnormal spermatozoa percentage. The results showed that the semen volume is 6.90 ± 0.54 whereas the average of sperm concentration, individual motility and live sperm are 1754.54 ± 212.67;65.50 ± 3.74% and 76.30 ± 2.64%, respectively. Meanwhile, for frozen semen, the average percentage of motility is 38.00 ± 2.74% while the average proportions of live sperm and abnormal sperm are respectively 45.20 ± 9.86% and 6.00 ± 2.83%. In conclusion, in average, all parameters of fresh and frozen semen of Brahman bulls are in normal range. Based on the Indonesian National Standard, frozen semen produced could be used for insemination</text>

A total of 80 fishes with the weight of 40-50 gr were randomly allocated into 8 treatments. The treatments consisted of P1 (no heat stress and no jaloh leaves supplementation); P2 (no heat stress and 5% of jaloh leaves supplementation) ; P3 (no heat stress and 10% of  leaves supplementation); P4 (no heat stress and 15 % of  leaves supplementation); P5 (heat stress and no jaloh leaves supplementation); P6 (heat stress and 5% of  jaloh leaves supplementation); P7 (heat stress and 10% of  jaloh leaves supplementation); P8 (heat stress about 35 ± 1oC  for 4 h per day in 30 days and 15% of  jaloh leaves supplementation). The body weight was measured from 1d to 31d. Blood samples, lever tissues and statistical analysis were conducted on 31d. The results of the experiments indicated that supplementation of fish feed with jaloh leaves 5-15% had negative effects on body weight gain. On the other hand, supplementation of jaloh leaves 5-10% on commercial fish feed had positive effects on performances and immune system of experiment fishes</text>

<text>Enzyme catalyse a broad spectrum of important biological reactions, including protein metabolism and immune reactions. A study was carried out to partial characterize enzyme from exretory/secretory of A. galli L3 stage based on influence of inhibitor. A. galli L3 were recovered from intestines of 100 heads chickens 7 days after oesophagus inoculation with 6000 L2. L3 recovered in this manner were cultured (5 – 10 ml-1) in flasks containing rosswell park memorial institute (RPMI) 1640 media, pH 6.8, without phenol red. Cultures were incubated at 370C in 5% CO2 and culture fluid was collected after 3 days in culture. Excretory/secretory was prepared from metabolic product of L3 released in culture medium. The enzyme activity was assayed against casein 2%. The amount of concentration was determined from the absorbance at 595 nm. Inhibitor sensitivity on enzyme activity was studied in phenil methanyl methane sulfonyl fluoride (PMSF) 0,5 and 1 mM.    The result showed that enzyme activity of A. galli larvae was inhibited by PMSF 0.5 and 1 mM, which enzyme activity remainded 1,8 and 0%, respectively. The results indicate that the excretory/secretory secreted by L3  A. galli contained serine protease</text>

<text>A research about tidal analysis at Kuala Langsa and Pusong Island with different physical condition had been done, where Kuala Langsa is an estuary and Pusong Island is a coastal area in Kota Langsa District, Aceh Province. The purpose of this research is to determine tidal type on both locations. This research used secondary data which is obtained from Kuala Langsa – Pusong Island Hydro – Oceanographic Survey and primary data which is taken about 29 hours at both locations.  Admiralty method had been using to analyze the tides and from this method can be obtain amplitude and phase lag based on Formhazl number. The result of this research according to Formhazl number for Kuala Langsa and Pusong Island are 0.12 and 0.23 respectively. Both values of Formhazl number of the locations are smaller than 0.25, it concluded that both locations had showed same tidal type, i.e. semidiurnal. The phase lag for tidal types in Kuala Langsa for M2 is 3590while for Pusong Island is 3300. While for the amplitude of both locations for M2 is 56 cm for Kuala Langsa and 48 cm for Pusong Island. It is shown that the amplitudes at Kuala Langsa are a little bit higher than that of Pusong Island. The difference is suspect due to the different physical condition of the observation areas</text>

<text>The objective of this study was to know the effect of biochar residue, compost and urea fertilization on growth and yield of maize.  The research was conducted at University Farm Ie Seum Research Station, Aceh Besar district, Aceh Province, Indonesia.  The experimental arranged in a randomized complate block non factorial design with four replications.  There were eight treatment combinations: P1 (without biochar residue + without compost + without urea), P2 (without biochar residue + without compost + urea), P3 (without biochar residue + compost + without urea), P4 (without biochar residue + compost + urea), P5 (biochar residue + without compost + without urea), P6 (biochar residue + without compost + urea), P7 (biochar residue + compost + without urea), P8 (biochar residue + compost + urea).  Based on the plant growth, biochar residue, compost, and urea fertilizer treatment did not significantly affect on plant height age of 30, 45 and 60 days after planting, leaf number aged 30, 45 and 60 days after planting, stem diameter ages 30, 45 and 60 days after planting. At the P7 treatment (biochar residue + compost + without urea) gave the best value but does not differ significantly with all treatments tested.  Based on plant yield, biochar residue, compost, and urea fertilizer treatment did not significantly affect on cornhusk ear length, cornhusk cob diameter, cornhusk cob weight, cob length without cornhusk, cob diameter without cornhusk, cob weight without cornhusk, and yield.  At P5 treatment (biochar residue + without compost + without urea) cornhusk cobs and P7 (biochar residue + compost + without urea) cornhusk cobs and without cornhusk provide the best value but does not differ significantly with all treatments tested. </text>

<text>Many applications are developed and deployed in Syiah Kuala University main server. These applications and information system are built as tools to help the University’ daily activities. Most of these applications have its own database. As a result, data is inconsistent, and the worst is redundant data cannot be avoided. The idea behind of this research is to build one centralized data that can be used as baseline to other applications. Since the main data of Syiah Kuala University are located behind the proxy which is no internet direct access allowed to the data. The proposed method to answer this problem is touse web service as a gateway for data transfer. This technique keeps the database from direct external access but the data itself can be seen without knowing where the real data is. This method has been used for Online Exit-Survey to proof that the system can verify the students’ data. Some student cannot be identified because their data were empty, the other because the data in centralized database server were only prepared for undergraduate students, so that the post graduate and professional students cannot be verified. For undergraduate students this online exit-survey works fine without error on verification phase</text>

A single hydrocortisone administration to neonatal rats was only followed by a short-term delay in body weight gain, with no changes in the levels of active caspase-3 in the cortex and brainstem, as well as with no abnormalities in neurodevelopment. These results evidence for lesser neurotoxicity of natural hormone during neonatal development in comparison with dexamethasone and suggest the possibility that hydrocortisone might be used as a substitution for its synthetic analogue in the perinatal medicine</text>

According to ISO 3757:2002 standard, the patchouly oil have to contain 27-35% of patchouly alcohol and according to SNI 06-2385-2006 standard, they have to contain at least 31%. Cromatography gas is the standard method recomended by ISO 3757/2002 for testing the quality of patchouly oil. This method requires the original compound of pure patchouly alcohol as the reference material. However the authentic compound of pure patchouly alcohol is not yet available in the chemical trade. Therefore, research should be focused on determining a patchouly oil standar as laboratory reference testing in Indonesia. The experiment of isolation patchouly alcohol from patchouly oil was conducted using fractional distillation method. The isolated patchouly alcohol was identified by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry method. The isolation gave 6.23% yield of patchouly alcohol, and the purity of isolated patchouly alcohol was 95.68%.</text>
