Syahrul, M.Sc Sebagai Pembimbing Anggota.RINGKASANPangan merupakan kebutuhan esensial dan komoditas paling strategis dalam kehidupan. Tidak semua kebutuhan pangan dapat dipenuhi, karena kapasitas produksi dan distribusi pangan semakin terbatas. Hal ini menyebabkan ketidakstabilan pangan antara kebutuhan dan pemenuhannya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengoptimalkan kecukupan di Kabupaten Aceh Besar yang mencakup analisis ketercukupan padi serta ketersediaannya dan menganalisis perkembangan padi.Penelitian ini menggunakan perangkat lunak OptiFoodPlus 2009. Data yang digunakan terdiri dari peta Administrasi Kabupaten Aceh Besar, data perkembangan penduduk Kabupaten Aceh Besar mulai dari tahun 2003-2012, data perkembangan produksi pertanian tanaman pangan (padi sawah dan padi ladang) dari tahun 2005-2012 diperoleh dari BPS, Bappeda, Dinas Pertanian Tanaman Pangan Propinsi Aceh. Dengan tahapan peneltian, proyeksi kebutuhan dan ketersediaan padi terdiri dari pertumbuhan dan proyeksi penduduk sebagai dasar perhitungan kebutuhan padi, perkembangan produksi padi, penentuan kebutuhan dan ketersediaan lahan padi. Input OptiFoodPlus adalah pertumbuhan penduduk berdasarkan jenis kelamin dan kelompok umur, produksi, dan luas tanam komoditi pangan setiap kelompok bahan pangan. Sedangkan output OptiFoodPlus adalah energi optimum, luas panen optimum bahan pangan serealia. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan proyeksi perkembangan penduduk pada tahun 2005 sebanyak 276.125 jiwa, hingga akhir tahun proyeksi 2020 sebanyak 508.127 jiwa diperoleh dengan persamaan Verhults proyeksi perkembangan penduduk pada tahun 2020 adalah P_(2020-2003)=742824 (1+(1,815828478).?2,71828?^(-0,0713(17) ) )^(-1) dengan nilai R2 adalah 0,8706. Tsunami caused soil degradation and plant productivity. Inoculation of arbuscule mycorrhizae fungi (AMF) and manure were the methods which are able to improve soil quality. Soil biology properties was a parameter that can be used to assess the quality of a land. The objective of this study were to evaluate some properties of soil biology in the tsunami-affected land influence by AMF and manure. This experiment was conducted to Randomized Block Design with three replications. The results showed that the treatment affecting some soil biology properties was inoculation of AMF. This inoculation had highly significant effect on phosphate solubilizing microorganisms, significant effect on total microbial population, fungi, bacteria, and celulolytic microorganisms, whereas their activity were not affected significantly. Both micorrhizae and organic matter able to improve soil quality, include by improving nutrient status of soil. The aim of this work were to examine the effect of AM fungi and organic matter on availability of soil P and N and P uptake of maize at the tsunami-affected land. This work was arranged in Factorial Randomized Block Design with three replication. The results were both AMF inoculation and organic matter affected the availability of soil P not significantly. The dry weight of upper crop and P uptake of maize were influenced by interaction of these treatments high significantly while the dry weight of root was affected significantly. Daun salam adalah salah satu tumbuhan yang telah diketahui memiliki aktivitas antibakteri. Daun salam mengandung minyak atsiri, alkaloid, flavonoid dan tanin. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Konsentrasi Hambat Minimal (KHM) dan Konsentrasi Bunuh Minimal (KBM) ekstrak etanol daun salam terhadap pertumbuhan P. aeruginosa isolat klinis. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Mikrobiologi RSUD dr. Zainoel Abidin. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental laboratorium dengan menggunakan metode Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL). Rancangan penelitian menggunakan 4 kelompok perlakuan (terdiri atas ekstrak etanol daun salam dengan konsentrasi 100 mg/ml, 200 mg/ml, 300 mg/ml dan 400 mg/ml) dankelompok kontrol negatif (terdiri dari suspensi bakteri P. aeruginosa isolat klinis dan ekstrak etanol daun salam). Hasil penelitian ini didapatkan KHM dan KBMekstrak etanol daun salam terhadap P. aeruginosa adalah 300 mg/ml. Analisis statistik dengan uji ANOVA yang dilanjukan dengan uji Tukey dan Duncan untuk KHM serta uji Kruskal-Wallis untuk KBM didapatkan nilai p < 0,5. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak etanol daun salam pada konsentrasi 300 mg/ml telah mampu menghambat dan membunuh P. aeruginosa isolat klinis.
