Model reaksi kimia yang digunakan melibatkan zat A, B, C dan katalis I, dimana zat A merupakan reaktan dan zat C adalah produk. Permasalahan ini bertujuan untuk menentukan besar konsentrasi katalis I yang harus digunakan untuk memaksimumkan produk C. Fungsi tujuan yang ingin dimaksimumkan dalam model yang dikemukakan oleh Gunn dan Thomas hanya hasil akhir produk C, sedangkan dalam penelitian ini fungsi tujuan tersebut dimodifikasi sedemikian sehingga memaksimumkan hasil akhir produk C dengan total penggunaan katalis I yang seminimum mungkin agar dapat mengurangi biaya produksi. Permasalahan ini diselesaikan secara numerik dengan bantuan PROPT Tomlab yang menggunakan metode diskritisasi langsung dengan teknik diskritisasi pseudospectral. Ini berarti bahwa solusi diperoleh dengan mendekati variabel state dan kontrol dengan pendekatan polinomial yang memenuhi kendala pada titik-titik kolokasi Legendre-Gauss. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa total penggunaan katalis I untuk model sesudah dimodifikasi lebih sedikit dibandingkan dengan model sebelum dimodifikasi. Namun, konsentrasi zat C diakhir reaksi mengalami penyusutan, sehingga dilakukan pemberian nilai penalti pada variabel kontrol. Desain penelitian ini adalahdeskriptif korelatif dengan sampel 33 orang, menggunakan tenik pengambilan sampel Purposive sampling. Alat pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu kuesioner. Pengolahan data menggunakan chi square test. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan laju aliran saliva dengan indeks karies gigi pada mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Gigi Universitas Syiah Kuala Angkatan 2011-2013. Low domestic water supply sanitation is considered as having an important contribution on the high frequency of waterborne diseases in the area. The study aims at recording water borne diseases and the water quality in the lowland area of Banyuasin District. This field research was conducted using a cross-sectional method. Total samples were 210 households in Telang which were observed during July through August 2011. Six water samples were measured for their physical and chemical properties, in addition to 1 water sample for bacteriological test. All respondents used river water for sanitary purposes and 41.4% of them also have dug wells. Those who used river water for sanitation, 68.5 % also consumed purified water for drinking purpose. All water samples are acidic (pH 5,68-6,19) and contain high Iron  (1-26,269 Mg/L). Water has yellowish color.  The major disease are diarrhea and skin diseases. In the lowland area with the estuarine ecosystem water quality and scarcity are serious problems. This in turn causes the high prevalent of waterborne diseases such as diarea. Low level of education and socio-economic status make it difficult for the local people to overcome these problems. This study aims to determine the effect of a complete ration of silage made from water hyacinth on feed efficiency and digestibility. This study uses fifteen rams (12 months old with an average body weight of 19 ± 3.98 kg). The experimental was designed completely random. The sheeps were randomly divided into 3 treatments, and 4 replications. The sheeps wereted concentrate and fresh elephant grass (T0), silage-based rations complete without the addition of starter hyacinth L. plantarum (T1), and a complete ration silage made from water hyacinth by the addition of L. plantarum starter (T2). Feed structured treatment isoenergi and isoprotein (PK 13% and 65% TDN). Feed treatment was given for 12 weeks with a 2-week adaptation period. The results showed that feed intake, ADG, feed conversion, and feed efficiency were not significantly different (P> 0.05), but it can improve feed digestibility (P <0.05) between treatments. Feed intake data, digestibility, ADG, feed conversion and feed efficiency at T0, T1 and T2 as follows: 678.27, 811.43, 701.21 g / day; 70.51, 71.74, 69.82%; 94.09, 106.34, 97.28 g / day; 7.22, 7.66, and 7.18; 14.09, 13.23 and 14.02% use a complete ration silage with L. plantarum starter better than the control treatment in the form of concentrates with elephant grass but not better than silage without a starter.
