NO. 0807101020009Analysis of Self-Care Ability In Patients with Chronic Kidney Disease In Internist Wardof dr. ZainoelAbidin General Hospital Banda Aceh Year 2012ABSTRACTSelf-care is one of the basic human ability to meet its needs in order to sustain life, health and well-being. Self-care includes bathing, dressing, eating, dressing / make up, hygiene, using tools for daily activities, non-parenteral treatment, oral hygiene and toileting. This study aimsto analyze the self-care ability in patients with chronic kidney disease in internist ward ofdr. ZainoelAbidin General Hospital Banda Aceh Year 2012. This type of research was descriptive explorative study with cross sectional approach. Sampling technique was total sampling with sample of 37 chronic kidney disease respondents. Data were collected using guided interviews using questionnaires in form of dicotomus scale with ordinal measurement scale consisting 40 items of questions. The data were analyzed descriptively by determining the percentage of assisted and not supported (independent). The results showed that the ability of self-care in terms of bathing was in compensatory nursing systemcategory (81.1%), the ability in dressing was in compensatory nursing system category (78,4%), ability to eat was in compensatory nursing systemcategory (78,4%), the ability in dress up/make upwas in compensatory nursing systemcategory (73,0%), the ability in personal hygiene was in compensatory nursing systemcategory (78,4%), the ability to use tools in daily activities was in compensatory nursing systemcategory (81,1%), the ability in non-parenteral treatment was in compensatory nursing systemcategory (86,5%), the ability of oral hygiene was in compensatory nursing systemcategory (86,5%), and the ability of toileting was in compensatory nursing system category (78,4%). Generally indicates that self-careability of chronic kidney disease patients was in compensatory nursing system category (86,5%). <text>Conventional soil sampling is time consuming and requires meticulous laboratory analysis. Hence, mapping of soil apparent in respect to electrical conductivity (ECa) has been developed to identify areas of contrasting soil properties. Such ECa values are represent measures of soil properties. The sensor system, GF Instrument model CMD-4 were used to analyze soil physical properties. This system consists of three important parts, ECa sensor, data logger and Global Positioning System (DGPS) receiver. This research was aimed to evaluate the relationships between ECa and soil properties as well as the yield of rice (paddy) in paddy’s farming fields. One study site was chosen. The sensor was pulled through a plotted area of 0.25 km2. The distribution map of ECa was developed to identify the contrast of ECa. More than 100 ECa of data points were collected in 3-hour for the large plot. The data was later transferred to a notebook computer for generation of ECa maps using Surfer 11 software. According to the data analyses, field and ECa showed positive correlation. The average values of ECa are significantly different between hilly area and drainage canal area signifying differences in soil structure. Soil ECa could provide a measure of the spatial differences associated with soil physical and chemical properties, which for paddy soil may be a measure of soil suitability for crop growth and its productivity. This sensor can measure the soil ECa through the field quickly for detailed features of the soil and can be operated by just one worker. The ECa map provides some ideas for future soil management</text>

<text>Abstract - The toxicity of arsenic is known to be a risk to aquatic flora and fauna and to human health even in relatively low concentration. In this research an adsorption gel was prepared from agricultural waste material (orange waste) through simple chemical modification in the view to remove arsenic (V) from water. Orange waste was crushed into small particles and saponified with Ca(OH)2 to prepare saponified orange waste, which was further modified by immobilizing gadolinium(III) to obtain desired adsorption material (Gd(III)-immobilized SOW gel). The effective pH range for arsenic adsorption was found to be 7.5 – 8.5. Adsorption capacity of the gel was evaluated to be 0.45 mol-arsenic (V)/kg. Dynamic adsorption of arsenic (V) in column-mode was conducted and a dynamic capacity was found to be 0.39 mol/kg. Elution of arsenate was tested after complete saturation of the column packed with gadolinium-immobilized orange waste adsorption gel. A complete elution of arsenate was achieved with the help of 1 M HCl and 28 times pre-concentration factor was attained. This study showed that a cheap and abundant agro-industrial waste material could be successfully employed for the remediation of arsenic pollution in aquatic environment. Keywords: Arsenic; Orange waste; Gadolinium(III); Adsorption; Elution.</text>
