Pengenalan pola adalah masalah yang banyak menyita perhatian sekarang ini baik pengenalan pola wajah, sidik jari, maupun pola pengenalan karakter huruf. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengenali karakter huruf Arab dan Latin menggunakan metode moment invariant. Metode moment invariant menghasilkan tujuh nilai moment yang kombinasi diantara moment-moment tersebut adalah fitur untuk pengenalan karakter. Berdasarkan nilai moment dikembangkan suatu skema pengenalan karakter yang dinamai "Skema Akar Pohon". Perbedaan nilai moment untuk masing-masing karakter pada skema adalah ciri dari karakter tersebut. Untuk keempat kelompok yang disimulasikan adalah karakter Arab biner, Arab thinning, Latin biner dan Latin thinning. Dari hasil simulasi, ditemui bahwa huruf Arab biner yang diwakili oleh 5 moment adalah 30 %, dan huruf Arab thinning pada moment 3 sebesar 40 %, untuk huruf Latin biner karakter yang diwakili oleh moment 3 dan moment 5 adalah 30,76 % sedangkan huruf Latin thinning karakter yang banyak diwakili terdapat pada moment 3 sebesar 65,38 %. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang suatu alat yang dapat merotasi solar kolektor cekung linier mengikuti arah sinar datang cahaya matahari. Pada perancangan ini digunakan dua buah LDR sebagai sensor cahaya, yang berfungsi untuk mendapatkan besarnya intensitas radiasi matahari. Hasil perancangan menunjukkan bahwa solar kolektor tidak akan berotasi jika kedua sensor cahaya menerima intensitas yang sama dan berotasi jika intensitas yang diperoleh kedua sensor cahaya berbeda satu sama lain. Dari hasil perancangan disimpulkan, sistem kendali dapat merotasi solar kolektor mengikuti arah sinar datang cahaya matahari.Kata kunci : Solar kolektor, sistem kendali, LDR.ABSTRACTRotation control system of linear concave solar collector using by microcontroller ATMega8535 has been designed. The research purpose is to design an instrument that can rotate solar collectors linear concave following the direction of the incident ray of sunlight. This design uses two LDRs as a light sensor to get intensity of solar radiation. The results show that solar collector are not rotated if both of light sensors receive the same intensity and solar collector are rotated if intensity obtaine by both of light sensors are different each others. We use Granger non-causality test proposed by Toda and Yamamoto (1995) in both bivariate and multivariate frameworks and both monthly and quarterly data in examining the relationship between the two variables. Unlike previous studies, we find that there is strong evidence of no causality running between stock prices and bank loans in all models and samples. This finding revealed that stock prices and bank loans are independent. The predictability of stock prices cannot be enhanced considerably through utilizing information on the bank loans. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perubahan tutupan lahan dan tekanan penduduk pada kawasan hutan lindung dan konservasi daerah tangkapan air Danau Laut Tawar di Kabupaten Aceh Tengah, Provinsi Aceh. Metode yang digunakan untuk analisis data citra adalah klasifikasi terbimbing data citra tahun 2002 dan 2012. Analisis tekanan penduduk pada kawasan hutan lindung digunakan metode indeks tekanan penduduk. Perubahan tutupan lahan periode tahun 2002-2012 yaitu terjadi penambahan hutan lahan kering sekunder 972,02 hektar (3,85%), pemukiman 175,80 hektar (0,70%) dan 141,00 hektar (0,56%) tanah terbuka, sedangkan pengurangan terjadi pada pertanian lahan kering campuran -1.041,43 hektar (-4,12%), pertanian lahan kering -49,60 (-0,20%), sawah -173,78 hektar (-0,69%), dan tubuh air -24,00 hektar (-0,10). Sejumlah 48 desa (69%) memiliki indeks tekanan penduduk (ITP > 1), kekurangan lahan usaha untuk petani di daerah tangkapan air Danau Laut Tawar seluas -2.284,50 hektar, perubahan penggunaan kawasan hutan lindung tahun 2012 sebesar -6.221,00 hektar (-24,64,%) dan konservasi seluas -119,00 hektar (-0,47%) serta peningkatan pembangunan infrastruktur jalan di dalam kawasan sepanjang 36 km, mengkonfirmasi bahwa kawasan hutan lindung dan kawasan konservasi di daerah tangkapan air Danau Laut Tawar di Kabupaten Aceh Tengah telah terjadi penyimpangan penggunaan lahan yang tidak sesuai dengan ketentuan Surat Keputusan Menteri Kehutanan No. 170/Kpts-II/2000 seluas -6.946,00 hektar (-27,51%) dari luas daerah tangkapan air Danau laut Tawar.Kata kunci : tutupan lahan, indeks tekanan penduduk dan daerah tangkapan air.Abdul Kholiq, Analysis of Land Cover Change and Population Pressure on Forest Protected Catchment Area of Laut Tawar Lake. This study aims to analyze land cover change and population pressure on protected forest catchment area Laut Tawar Lake in Aceh Tengah District, Aceh Province. The method used for the image analysis is the supervised classification. The method of population pressure index was used to measure the population pressure on protected forest areas. The land cover change don the period of 2002 -2012 was the addition of secondary dry forest 972.02 hectares (3.85%), settlement 175.80 hectares (0,70%) and open land141.00 hectares (0.56%), whereas the reduction occurred in mixed cropping dry land agriculture -1,041.43 hectares (-4.12%), dry land agriculture -49.60 (-0,20%), rice land -173.78 hectares (-0,69%), and water bodies -24.00 hectares (-0.10%). The total of 48 villages (69%) had a population pressure index (ITP> 1), the lack of farmland to farmers in the catchment areas of Laut Tawar Lake -2,284.50 hectares. Proses daur ulang pun tidak memberikan kontribusi yangsignifikan terhadap permasalahan sampah tersebut karena proses daur ulang yang dilakukan gunamengurangi dampak negatif yang ditimbulkan oleh sampah non-organik tersebut masih sangatmahal dan menghasilkan produk baru dengan kualitas yang rendah.. Dewasa ini telah banyakdijumpai beberapa produk plastik yang terbuat dari tanaman pangan, seperti ubi, kentang, sagu,dan jagung. Sebagai alternatif dari bahan-bahan tersebut, alga merah yang merupakan salah satutumbuhan laut juga telah diajukan sebagai material pembentuk plastik. Pengolahan alga merahmenjadi plastik merupakan salah satu upaya yang dilakukan untuk menghasilkan materialalternatif yang murah dan memiliki resistansi yang baik terhadap eksitasi fisik dan mekanik.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sifat fisik dan mekanik dari bioplastik dengan bahanbaku alga jenis Eucheuma Cottonii dan campurannya dengan lateks. Dengan mengetahui sifat fisisdan mekanis suatu bioplastik maka aplikasi bioplastik tersebut dapat disesuaikan aplikasinya.Dalam penelitian ini material yang digunakan adalah ruputlaut jenis Eucheama Cattonii,menggunakan lateks sebagai aditif berupa lateks sukun (Artocarpus Altilis) dan lateks rubik(Calotropis Gigantea). Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimental. Metodeeksperimental tersebut terbagi atas evaluasi sifat fisis, dan pengujian sifat mekanis. Pengukuransifat fisis dilakukan di Laboratorium Rekayasa Material, Jurusan Teknik Mesin, Universitas SyiahKuala. Sedangkan untuk pengujian sifat mekanis menggunakan peralatan uji tarik dilakukan diLaboratorium Pusat Penelitian, Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam, UniversitasSumatera Utara. Tahapan penelitian secara umum dimulai dengan studi literatur, pemilihancetakan, persiapan pembuatan plastik, dan pengukuran sifat fisis serta pengujian sifat mekanisnya.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa material bioplastik dengan komposisi latek rubik sebesar20% memiliki keuletan sebesar 136%, kuat tarik sebesar 6.59 MPa dan penyerapan energi sebesar530.77 kgf.mm. sedangkan material bioplastik dengan komposisi lateks sukun 20% memilikikeuletan sebesar 21.2%, kuat tarik 4.72 MPa dan penyerapan energi 96.83 kgf.mm. Dari hasilpenelitian diketahui bahwa sifat fisik bioplastik seperti tebal, densitas dan penyusutan linear darimasing-masing bioplastik dipengaruhi oleh material dan komposisi dari lateks.
