Daun salam (Syzygium polyanthum [Wight] Walp) merupakan salah satu tanaman herbal yang secara tradisional digunakan sebagai antibakteri. Efek antibakteri daun salam timbul akibat adanya kandungan alkaloid, saponin, tanin, polifenol, flavonoid, kuinon, steroid, dan triterpenoid. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui aktivitas antibakteri dari ekstrak etanol daun salam segar terhadap pertumbuhan E. faecalis. Enterococcus faecalis dikultur pada media CHROMAgar VRE (Non-vancomycin) dan diinkubasi pada suhu 370C dalam suasana anaerob. Enterococcus faecalis selanjutnya dipaparkan dengan ekstrak etanol daun salam segar untuk uji antibakteri dengan menggunakan metode Standart Plate Count (SPC). Hasil analisis Kruskal-Wallis menunjukkan p=0,003 yang berarti adanya pengaruh yang signifikan dari ekstrak etanol daun salam segar terhadap pertumbuhan E. faecalis. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of vitamin E inmice exposed plumbum. This study is a laboratory experimental research whichused a complete random design. In this study, vitamin E was given orallyeveryday for 7 days. Then plumbum was given intraperitoneally two hours aftervitamin E. Examination of urea and creatinine was done 2 days after. There were5 groups in this research, such as: Group I (aquadest), Group II (20 mg /KgBWplumbum), Group III (200 mg / KgBW Vitamin E + 20 mg / kgBW Plumbum),Group IV (500 mg / KgBW vitamin E + 20 mg / KgBW plumbum),Group V (1000 mg / KgBW vitamin E + 20 mg / KgBW plumbum). The results ofthis study indicated that there is no significant effect ofvitamin E protection against Plumbum. This may be caused by a lackof high doses of vitamin E that was given so that the protection that causedwas less effective.
