The world’s copra meal production amounted to 1.8 million tonnes in 2002 and most of it was produced in Asia. The Philippines and Indonesia contributed approximately 65% of the world’s copra meal production. The main problems of using copra meal in poultry diets are its physical properties along with its nutritional profiles. This study was conducted to determine the physical characteristics and feeding value of copra meal. Physical characteristics were determined by measuring the bulk density and water holding capacity of copra meal and a digestibility study was undertaken to investigate nutrient digestibility, jejunal digesta viscosity and apparent metabolizable energy of copra meal. A total of 28 day old male Ross chicks were given control starter and grower diets from day 1 to 35. From day 36 to 42 , the birds were fed an experimental diet. Faeces were collected for three consecutive days. Jejunal digesta was measured for viscosity and ileal digesta was used for amino acid digestibility measurements.Data indicated that bulk density and water holding capacity of copra meal were poor, being 0.49 g/cm3 and 4.69 g water / g feed respectively. Although the crude proteind and amino acids contents of copra meal were favourable to meet a broiler chicken’s requirements, their digestibilities were low and lysine digestibility being the lowest while arginine digestibility was high. Dry matter, neutral detergent fibre digestibility and apparent metabolizable energy were also low. The low digestibilities of nutrients were not due to the jejunal digesta viscosity as jejunal digesta viscosity was low. Salah satu infeksi nosokomial di Ruang Rawat Intensif yang sering terjadi dan memperpanjang masa rawatan adalah Central Line Associated Bloodstream Infection (CLABSI). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui angka kejadian dan jenis mikroorganisme penyebab CLABSI di Ruang Rawat Intensif RSUD dr. Zainoel Abidin Banda Aceh dalam periode Agustus sampai Desember 2013. Jenis penelitian ini adalah observasional dengan rancangan survei. Sampel penelitian ini adalah semua pasien pengguna kateter vena yang didiagnosis klinis sebagai CLABSI, dilakukan pemeriksaan kultur darah untuk mengetahui mikroorganisme penyebabnya. Dari hasil penelitian ini didapatkan 50 pasien yang menggunakan kateter vena sentral, 5 pasien diantaranya didiagnosis CLABSI. Angka kejadian CLABSI di Ruang Rawat Intensif didapatkan 9,57 per 1000 hari penggunaan kateter vena sentral. mikroorganisme penyebab CLABSI adalah Staphylococcus aureus (60%), Pseudomonas aeruginosa (20%) dan Klebsiella pneumoniae (20%). Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa angka kejadian CLABSI di Ruang Rawat Intensif RSUD dr. Pasien yang menjalani hemodialisis cenderung mengalami malnutrisi sehingga risiko mortalitasnya meningkat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui risiko terjadinya malnutrisi pada pasien hemodialisis di Instalasi Dialisis Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah dr. Zainoel Abidin Banda Aceh dengan menggunakan Geriatric Nutrition Risk Index. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian observasional dengan desain cross-sectional survey. Pengambilan sampel secara non-probability sampling, dengan teknik accidental sampling. Sampel pada penelitian ini berjumlah 32 orang. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan Chi-square dan Fisher Exact Test. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan 6,25% penderita PGK yang menjalani hemodialisis berisiko terjadi malnutrisi, sedangkan yang tidak berisiko sebesar 93,75%. Nilai p value jenis kelamin dan lama hemodialisis dengan status nutrisi masing-masing diperoleh 1,000 > ? 0,05. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah tidak terdapat hubungan antara jenis kelamin dan lama hemodialisis dengan status nutrisi penderita PGK yang menjalani hemodialisis di Instalasi Dialisis Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah dr. A series of experiment had been conducted to improved the quality of rice straw, rice bran and cassava solid waste through biological pretreatment using several species of microbes. Based on the digestibility and the fermentation product, indicated that 30 percent of rice straw, 35 percent of rice bran and 35 percent of cassava solid waste was the optimal ratio for concentrate formulated. The present experiment was carried out by experimental method with Completely Randomized Design, on twelve yearling male cattle of Ongole grade. The treatment tested were 3 physical form of the concentrate : (1) unfermented mesh; (2) fermented mesh and (3) fermented pellet. The variables measured were : energy and protein digestibility, rumen fermentation product, nitrogen balance and daily body weight gain. The digestion and balance trial were carried out by the Total Collection Method. The analysis of covariance shown, that there were significantly effects of the treatment tested whether upon the protein and energy digestibility, the nitrogen balance (P<0.01), nitrogen ammonia production and daily body weight gain (P<0.05), but there was no significantly effect on the Total Volatile Fatty Acid and the proportion of the individual VFA (P<0.05). Based on the all variables measured, it was indicated that fermented pellet was the best concentrate (composed by 30% of fermented rice straw, 35% of fermented rice brand and 35% of fermented cassava solid waste). Dari semua efek yang terjadi pada testis kontralateral salah satunya berefek terhadap penghambat poliferasi dan fungsi Sel Leydig yang berfungsi menghasilkan testosteron untuk pertumbuhan dan pembelahan sel-sel germinal testis, yang merupakan tahap pertama pembentukan sperma. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat perubahan yang diakibatkan oleh detorsi torsio testis unilateral pada penurunan jumlah sel Leydig testis kontralateral dan setelah di detorsi selama 30 hari. Penelitian ini dilakukan secara eksperimen laboratorik dengan pendekatan post test only control dan menggunakan teknik pengelompokan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan menggunakan 3 kelompok perlakuan.
