The objective of the present study was to analyze the budgetary trends and the effectiveness of fisheries subsidies in Aceh Besar district. The literature and survey methods were utilized in this study. The secondary data of Aceh Besar’s budget documents in the period of 2010-2012 and key person interviews with fishermen leaders were conducted to analysis the subsidy trend and fishermen perception. The data was collected in May through July 2012. The results showed the budget allocation to the fisheries sector were increased from year to year, in 2010 the total budget for the fisheries sector was Rp1, 9 billions (equivalent to 0.34% of total buget or 1.40% of the development budget allocation/indirect consumption), in it was increased to Rp2, 9 billion in 2011 (or 0.42% of total budget or 1.47% of the development budget allocation), then increased sharply in 2012 to Rp9, 2 billion (an increase of over 630%) from the previous year, equivalent to 1.11% of the total budget. In 2010, the proportion of subsidies were given mostly for aquaculture sub-sector, which reached 84% of the total budget that was managed by the Department of Marine and Fisheries of Aceh Besar, whereas in 2011 the proportion of subsidies occurred balance between aquaculture and capture fishery sub sectors. However, in 2012 most of the budget DKP Aceh Besar (63%) was allocated to the capture fishery sub-sector. The results of the study showed that fisheries subsidies by the Government of Aceh Besar district especially in the last two years have not yet met the criteria of sustainable fisheries subsidies. Fuel is one of important components in fishing activity. The objectives of this research were to analyze the need and the receiver of fuel subsidy in Aceh Besar t as well as to analyze the problems that faced by fisherman in Aceh Besar district. The survey was done on June-August 2012 in five sub-district in Aceh Besar namely: (1) Baitussalam, (2) Mesjid Raya, (3) Leupung (4) Lhoknga dan (5) Mesjid Raya. The result shown that the average cost of one trip of fishing activities in Aceh Besar were Rp700.000. The lowest operational cost was found in Seulimum (Rp96.200 per trip) and the highest was found in Baitussalam sub-district (Rp1, 793,710 per trip). Fuel was the biggest cost for fishing activity; it was ranged 40%-73% with average 57.9%. The lowest proportion of fuel consumption was found in Baitussalam sub-district and the highest was found in Lhoknga sub-district. In average, the fisherman’s fuel consumption was 1,237L. per month; with total subsidy was Rp 5,824,737 per fisherman per month. The profit will be decreased up to 89.5% if there was no fuel subsidy. In addition, the result also shown that the fisherman in Aceh Besar did not have any skill to generate their alternative income. As the consequence, in the future there is a need to develop programs to generate the alternative livelihood for Aceh Besar fisherman as well as their family.Keywords. Penelitian ini selama 2 bulan pada GBB Bulog di Lambaro, Kabupaten Aceh Besar.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa selama penyimpanan tidak terjadi susut bobot baik pada gabah maupun pada beras. Adapun densitas beras pada beras dengan metode penyimpanan bentuk beras lebih besar daripada densitas beras dengan metode penyimpanan bentuk gabah. Demikian pula tidak ditemukan adanya kontaminasi pada kedua metode penyimpanan yang diuji. Kajian terhadap kandungan karbohidrat meununjukkan bahwa beras dengan metode penyimpanan beras memiliki karbohidrat yang lebih tinggi daripada beras dengan metode penyimpanan gabah. Sedangkan kadar air beras dengan metode penyimpanan beras lebih rendah daripada beras dengan metode penyimpanan gabah. Namun demikian berdasarkan uji organoleptik terhadap sifat fisik, aroma dan warna, panelis lebih menyukai beras yang disimpan dalam bentuk beras. Kajian terhadap nilai indeks kerusakan gudang menunjukkan bahwa gudang Bulog ini mempunyai potensi kerusakan sedang (4). Although many studies to assess the benefits of plant extracts have been conducted, however effects of dietary katuk (Sauropus androgynus L. Merr.) on growth performances, feeding behavior and water quality of grouper (Epinephelus coioides) are not well known. In this study, 25 grouper juveniles weighing 11.27 ± 2.53 g were reared into 100-L tank (60 x 50 x 35 cm) and cultivated for 70 days. The fish were divided into four groups in triplicate, and were offered diet without katuk extract (control), diet supplemented with 1% katuk extract (SAA); diet supplemented with 2.5% katuk extract (SAB) and diet supplemented with 5.0% katuk extract (SAC) twice daily. Statistical analyses showed that dietary katuk extract caused a significant (P < 0.05) increase in growth rate and feed intake. The efficiency of feed was also significant when fish offered diets supplemented with 1% of katuk extract which indicated by a lower feed conversion ratio. However, no statistical differences were observed on the survival rate, condition factor, viscerosomatic index and hepatosomatic index. Observation on feeding behavior found that all treated fish consumed compounded diet just after provided into their tank and there were no abnormal behavior or any healthy problems during experimental periods. It demonstrated that application of katuk extract in fish diets is acceptable and can stimulate the fish appetites. In conclusion, our studies indicated that dietary katuk (Sauropus androgynus) extract can be applied in aquaculture to stimulate the growth and improve feed utilization.Keywords: Feed conversion ratio, feed utilization, plant extract, Sauropus androgynus. Solar collector is a device that collects solar energy and converts it into thermal energy and redirects the energy back into the fluid. Three variations of barrier angle were prepared in order to optimize the absorption of solar energy in a collector. Multiple pass turn were utilized to maximize the heat absorption. The size of the collector is 250 cm × 85 cm. Each side of absober box is coated with aluminum of 10 mm thick. Iron sand is used as absorber with thickness of 6 m. The collector box is tilted with 15° angle. Measurements were carried out for each multiple pass turn angle ; 130°, 180° and 90°. The tests were carried out in an open field in front of the Faculty of Engineering, Syiah Kuala University. The results show that temperature tends to be similar for all three variations of barrier angle. For the barrier angle of 130°, the highest temperature achieved was 93.3°C during 12:00 to 13:00 pm. The highest temperature achieved for the other two variations are 91.2°C for the barrier angle of 90° and 90.2°C for the barrier angle of 180°. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui proses belajar mengajar dengan tipe STAD dan proses belajar mengajar dengan tipe JIGSAW, untuk mengetahui perbandingan prestasi belajar siswa yang diajarkan dengan menggunakan tipe STAD (Student Team Achievement Division) dan tipe JIGSAW pada materi Ekonomi Mikro dan Makro di SMAN 1 Ingin Jaya, untuk mengetahui kendala yang terjadi dalam peggunaan tipe STAD (Student Team Achievement Division) dan tipe JIGSAW pada materi Ekonomi Mikro dan Makro di SMAN 1 Ingin Jaya. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas X SMAN 1 Ingin Jaya. sampel adalah siswa kelas X3 yang berjumlah 30 orang siswa, sehingga peneliti mengambil kelas ini sebagai kelas eksperimen atau kelas perlakuan penerapan pembelajaran tipe STAD dan kelas X5 berjumlah 30 siswa sebagai kelas control atau kelas penerapan pembelajaran tipe jigsaw. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara dokumentasi, observasi, tes dan wawancara. Setelah data terkumpul selanjutnya diolah dengan menggunakan rumus uji-t tes. Berdasarkan hasil pengolahan data di atas maka besar thitung yang diperoleh dari perhitungan tersebut adalah 2,14. Ternyata di dalam tabel nilai t dari db = 58 pada taraf signifikasn 5% (0.05) diperoleh nilai ttabel sebesar 1.67. Dari hasil penelitian diperoleh thitung lebih besar dari ttabel (2.14 > 1.67). Dengan demikian hipotesis yang menyatakan terdapat perbandingan prestasi belajar siswa yang diajarkan dengan menggunakan tipe STAD dan tipe JIGSAW pada materi Ekonomi Mikro dan Makro di SMAN 1 Ingin Jaya dapat diterima. Ha diterima dan Ho ditolak. Sedangkan kendala terjadi dalam penerapan tipe STAD antara lain: pembelajaran menggunakan model ini membutuhkan waktu yang lama, selain itu sejumlah siswa mungkin bingung karena belum terbiasa dengan perlakuan seperti ini sehingga memperlambat proses belajar. Sedangkan kendala yang dialami dalam menggunakan tipe Jigsaw antara lain: membutuhkan waktu yang lama dalam pembentukan kelompok, murid sering tidak memiliki rasa percaya diri untuk berdiskusi menyampaikan materi kepada temannya.
