<text>The effect of reduction of maize as starch source on flow rate of pellet in continuous production processABSTRACT. This experience was conducted to determine effect of reduction of maize as starch source on flow rate of pellet in continuous production process. Design of the experiment used was a completely randomized design with 3 treatments and 3 replicates. The data is analyzed by using of ANOVA and if there is a significance among treatments would tested using by contrast orthogonal. The variables observed were angle of repose, loose bulk density, compacted bulk density, and flow rate. The results showed that the reduction of maize as starch source did not give the significant effect on the variable that observed. The analyzed angle of repose showed variation 24.200 to 25.690, loose bulk density showed variation 621.6kg/m3 to 658kg/m3, compacted bulk density showed variation 668.3kg/m3 to 676.8kg/m3, and flow rate showed variation 449.69kg/minute to 491.41kg/minute. Based on the result that the reduction of maize as starch source (corn, sorghum, menir) did not give the significant effect on flow rate of pellet and the pellet treatment with menir has the fastest pellet production time so flowability pellet from pelleter to material hadling (bucket elevator) machine is faster. As higher the values of flow rate, so the time of material movement from bin to the package is shorter.</text>

The present study was conducted to determine the effect of Noni (Morinda citrifolia) fruit juice in drinking water on male broiler chicken performance. The study used 100 male broiler chicken at 3 days of age strain Platinum MB 202 produced by PT. Multi Breeder Adhirama Indonesia (Grup PT Jafpa Comfeed Indonesia) Bandar Lampung. The study was assigned into The Completely Randomized Design with 5 treatments and 4 replications. Chicken were housed in 20 unit colony cages in size 100 x 50 x 50 cm each. The treatments were level of noni fruit juice in drinking water; R0 (control, chicken were not drunk noni fruit juice), R1 (chicken drank water contained 2,5% noni fruit juice), R2 (chicken drank water contained 5% noni fruit juice), R3 (chicken drank water contained 7,5% noni fruit juice) and R4 (chicken drank water contained 10% noni fruit juice). Chicken fed similar ration containing 23.58% crude protein and 3943 kkal/kg gross energy. The selected noni fruit were mature fruit or has color white yellowish. Ration and drinking water were offered ad libitum. During the experiment, chicken were vaccinated only by Vaccine ND on 4 days of age. Chicken were kept for 4 weeks. Parameters measured were feed consumption, drinking water consumption, body weight gain and feed conversion ratio. Collected data were analyzed by analysis of variance and significant effect on the parameters were tested by Duncan’s Multiple Range Test. Result of this study showed that there was not significant (P>0,05) effect noni fruit juice in drinking water on feed consumption, drinking water consumption, body weight gain and feed conversion ratio. It is concluded that noni fruit juice could be mixed into the drinking water of broiler chicken up to 10%.</text>

<text>Ideal protein (amino acids) concept focused on broiler ABSTRACT. Accurate estimation of the amino acid requirement is very importance for diet formulation in growing animals such as broiler. Inadequate formulation of dietary amino acids will impair protein utilization and increase the total nitrogen output to the environment. Amino acids requirement of animals changes due to dietary, sex, and genetic and environmental factors. To address all potential combinations of factors with dose-response experiments is almost impossible. Thus the ideal protein concept provides a simple and effective approach to solve this problem. Based on this concept, the requirement of indispensible amino acids can be determined. For this concept, lysine has been used as the reference amino acid to calculate other indispensable amino acids due to several considerations. This paper will review more detailed about protein concept based on amino acid profile by using broiler as sampel review.</text>
