This study aims to determine the symptoms and assess the quality of life in women of menopausal age who have the climacteric symptoms. This study is an observasional study with descriptive cross-sectional study design, data collection by interview type. In this study the results obtained by the average age of menopause was 49.05. Women who experience vasomotor climacteric symptoms 41 ( 51.3 % ), psychosocial 23 ( 28.8 % ), physical 31 ( 38.8 % ), and sexual 18 ( 22.5 % ). Quality of life 91.3 % mild for vasomotor climacteric symptoms, 100 % mild for psychosocial, 92.5 % mild for physical, and 98.8 % mild for sexual. It can be concluded that the climacteric symptoms experienced by menopausal women with vasomotor symptoms are a burning taste that is often experienced, psychosocial symptoms with palpitations or feeling nervous, physical symptoms often experienced pain in the back of the head and neck region, and sexual symptoms with a change in sexual desire. Objectives of this research are to determine the level of emissions of carbon monoxide from motor vehicles, to study the fluctuations of air temperature in the area, and　to analyze the impact of increasing carbon monoxide concentration to the air temperature at Simpang Lima Banda Aceh during 2010. Concentration of carbon monoxide and air temperature were recorded by Air Quality Monitoring System (AQMS) device installed at Simpang Lima Banda Aceh. The result shows that carbon monoxide concentration increases as well as number of vehicles passing the area. Change of the concentration in the air is also influenced by temperature variability in the research area. For the temperature, beside affected by carbon monoxide concentrations are also influenced by weather factors such as solar radiation, wind speed and precipitation. However, levels of carbon monoxide concentration at Simpang Lima, Banda Aceh are considerably safe for the environment, i. e. less than 100 ppm. Pengambilansampel menggunakan tehnik Purposive sampling dengan mengukur BB dan TBsiswi sebanyak 200 orang siswi yang sudah mengalami menarche, pengumpulandata dengan menggunakan lembar observasi, untuk status gizi menggunakanrumus IMT/U dan untuk usia menarche dengan wawancara. Tehnik analisis datamenggunakan uji statistik chi-square. Hasil penelitian didapatkan status gizidengan kategori kurus (28,0%), normal (54,5%), gemuk (17,5%). Untuk usiamenarche 13 tahun (3,0%). Hasilpenelitian bivariat didapatkan ada hubungan antara status gizi dengan usiamenarche pada siswi Sekolah Menengah Pertama Negeri 2 Kota Banda Acehdengan (P-value 0,0001). With the increasing human population, especially in Indonesia, resulting in increasing human needs of various sectors, particularly in the construction sector. In the development activities required a lot of materials-minerals, such as sandstone, limestone, serpentinite rock which serves for a variety of needs in development activities. In District Indrapuri (Aceh Besar Regency), Tangse (Pidie Regency), and Beutong (Nagan Raya Regency) finding of the serpentinite rock is abundance. Meanwhile, in line with the rapid physical development in Aceh and its surroundings, then the needs of rock as building materials will increase as well. Research done by physical properties (specific gravity, absorption, porosity), and mechanical properties (testing compressive strength, wear/abrassion) of serpentinite rock to determine its quality as a building material. The results show that the serpentinite rock contained in District Indrapuri, Tangse, and Beutong for the building according SII 0378-80 is qualified for the foundation, curb stones, and ornamental stones or paste stones. Maka untuk mengatasi hal tersebut dengan mengajarkan siswa metode pemecahan masalah dengan model pembelajaran berdasarkan masalah. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui kemampuan siswa memecahkan masalah melalui model pembelajaran berdasarkan masalah dikelas VII SMP Negeri 8 Banda Aceh. Jenis pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah eksperimen dengan Pre-eksperimental design jenis pre-test and post-test Group. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 8 Banda Aceh Tahun Pelajaran 2012/2013 dan sampel diambil secara purposive sampling satu kelas dan diambil kelas VII-3 yang berjumlah 23 siswa. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik tes, observasi kemampuan guru mengelola pembelajaran, observasi aktivitas siswa dan angket respon. Data yang tercantum dalam penelitian ini diperoleh dari hasil jawaban siswa terhadap soal yang diberikan yang berbentuk essay. Pengolahan data menggunakan teknik statistik sederhana dalam bentuk perhitungan nilai rata-rata (mean). Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan rata-rata siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 8 Banda Aceh dalam pemecahan masalah matematika dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran berdasarkan masalah sebelum perlakuan diperoleh 21,52 dan rata-rata kemampuan pemecahan masalah sesudah perlakuan (post-test) diperoleh 32,78. Dengan demikian, kemampuan rata-rata siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 8 Banda Aceh tahun pelajaran 2012/2013 dalam pemecahan masalah matematika telah mengalami peningkatan. Dan dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran berdasarkan masalah dapat meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam memecahkan masalah pada materi segitiga. Efek dari penyakit dan pengobatan talasemia adalah gangguan pertumbuhan dan kematangan seksual akibat zat besi yang berlebih. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kadar feritin serum dengan pertumbuhan dan kematangan seksual penderita talasemia mayor. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian analitik observasional dengan desain cross sectional. Subyek penelitian adalah penderita talasemia mayor usia 10-18 tahun. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik accidental sampling dari bulan Oktober sampai November 2013 di Sentral Talasemia BLUD RSUDZA Banda Aceh. Kadar feritin serum diperoleh dari rekam medis pasien. Penilaian pertumbuhan dilakukan berdasarkan indikator indeks massa tubuh terhadap usia (IMT/U) dan pemeriksaan kematangan seksual dilakukan dengan skala Tanner. Analisis data penelitian menggunakan uji statistik Fisher. Selama penelitian berlangsung didapatkan total 32 sampel , yang terdiri dari 22 laki-laki dan 10 perempuan.
