<text>Abstract:Increasing the demand of travelers and limited of road supplies are the main crucial problem which is produced transportation related impact such as congestion and crashes. Congestion mainly occurs along urban corridors not only at junctions but also at potential bottlenecks which are temporal capacity of the road diminishing in most cases. The aims of this work is to assess the actual capacity and travel speed at the location of systematic bottleneck by governing simulation approach so called VISSIM 5.40. A selected area of study was at Jalan T. Nyak Ariefin particular at the position of Lamnyong intersection, Banda Aceh (±KM.6). It found that the assessment of the bottleneck capacity at the highest value of 1455 PCU/h (dropped 9-12 per cent) compared to normal condition. Equally patterns, travel speed reduced to 11 km/h or deteriorated to 4-9 per cent. As for the bound of accuracy, validation was conducted by comparing the MOEs value between observed and obtained from the simulator. The validation error was point out 9%, 9%, and 10% for hourly flow rate, travel speed, and travel time respectively, and the validation error denoted that less than 15%. It means that the MOEs value resulted from VISSIM 5.40 simulator is considerably acceptable in particular for practical purposes.     Keywords : congestion, capacity reduction, bottleneck, VISSIM 5.40, MOEs, Validation.

<text>Abstract: Aceh – Indonesia, is a province that is prone to the earthquake strike because of the position of it which is close to earth fault. There are subduction tectonic fault, Indo-Australia, Euo-Asia tectonic faults, and Sumatra fault.  The aim of this research was to analyse the probability of sand soil failure (liquefaction potency) as the earthquake strike. The earthquake waves when it reaches the saturated of sand soil layer as a cyclic loads, leads the sand soil layers to fail (soil liquefaction). The soil formation will be change due to the cyclic loads and increase the pore water pressure, as a result the soil shear strength will decrease or even loss strength and becomes like fluida. The location of the research is in Krueng Raya beach in Aceh Besar – Aceh province. The data were obtained from N-SPT test and showed that the soil layers are dominant with sand soil layers. Seed et al (1976) and Castro (1975) were used to analyse the liquefaction potency. The research shows that liquefaction occurs in the depth of 3 m – 15 m for Seed et al (1976) method whereas no indication of liquefaction shows from Castro (1975) methods in any depths.

<text>Abstract: Irrigation efficiency is based on an assumption that part of the amount of water taken will be lost either in the channel or in the field. Irrigation efficiency values specified in the planning and use in Indonesia are greater than some countries in Asia. Hence, in the implementation is the amount of water given not adequateto the field. A large amount of operational water discharge for field processing and paddy growth period on Growing Season 2 (MT) in Pandrah Irrigation undergoes water shortage. Therefore, the tertiary field of Right 3 Tertiary 1 Pandrah Building (BPKn3T1) receives less water. Due to the issue, a research was conducted about distrbuting of irrgation for paddy crop. It was conducted on BPKn3T1 field with 0.12 Ha of the total areas. The measurement of evaporation, evapotranspiration, percolation, effective rainfall and surface runoff used drum technique. To find out the daily rainfall, the researchers used an ordinary pluviometer. Inflow-outflow method was carried on to know the irrigation discharge on the plot of rice field. Based on the research, it is obtained the efficiency values on plot of  rice field (Ea) is 44.50% and total efficiency of  D.I Pandrah is 28.93%. Operational efficiency (Eo) is 37.50%. It shows that the wastage of irrigation water   distribution is 18.66%. In brief, it is necessary to go over the distribution of irrigation water disharge in order to be adjusted to the actual efficiency values in the field. Keywords : irrigation efficiency on  the plot of rice field, distribution of water irrigation, drum technique.
