                <text>Abstract: The experiment related to change of bottom topography due to progressive wave attacks in physical wave model. The aim of the research is to get better view and solutions for the eroded sandy beach either by natural disasters or other manmade activities to get the method for set back line.  The method for this purpose is by placing the detached submerged breakwater as the control structure for sand movement. There are two cases of structure placement, i.e., at the breaking point and at the outer of breaking point with the same treatment for the experimental design. The model is carried out at Hydraulic Laboratory Civil Engineering Department Faculty of Engineering Syiah Kuala University, in a 24m x0.52m concrete wave flume using a piston type regular wave generator with 3 variations of water depth, 3 variations of wave height and periods. The bed profiles were measured using sandy surface profiler every 10cm-spacing longshore and cross-shore directions. The results show that detached submerged breakwater as the control structure for longshore and cross-shore sediment movement gives better performance when it placed at the surrounding of  the breaking point.Keywords : detached submerged breakwater, bed profile, breaking pointAbstrak: Penelitian ini berkaitan dengan perubahan profil pantai karena adanya serangan gelombang yang dilakukan melalui model fisik pantai dan gelombang. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memperoleh gambaran yang lebih baik dan juga memperoleh solusi terhadap pantai berpasir yang tererosi disebabkan oleh bencana alam ataupun aktivitas buatan lainnya, dalam usaha memperoleh metode pengembalian garis pantai pada keadaan semula. Cara yang dilakukan untuk tujuan yang dimaksud adalah dengan menempatkan model ’pemecah gelombang terputus bawah air’ sebagai suatu bangunan kontrol untuk mengamati  pergerakan sedimen. Penempatan bangunan ini dilakukan pada dua lokasi, yaitu pada tempat pecahnya gelombang dan di luar daerah gelombang pecah dengan perlakuan yang sama terhadap rancangan penelitiannya. Model ini dilakukan di Laboratorium Hidroteknik Jurusan Teknik Sipil Fakultas Teknik Universitas Syiah Kuala. Peralatan yang digunakan adalah saluran gelombang dari beton berukuran 24m x 0.52m disertai mesin pembangkit gelombang reguler. Rancangan  penelitian yang dilakukan adalah  pengaturan tiga variasi kedalaman air, dan tiga variasi tinggi dan periode gelombang yang dibangkitkan. Profil dasar model pantai diukur dengan menggunakan peralatan sandy surface profiler dalam arah memanjang dan melintang saluran gelombang pada setiap jarak 10 cm. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ’pemecah gelombang terputus bawah air’ yang berfungsi sebagai bangunan kontrol terhadap pergerakan sedimen sejajar dan tegak lurus pantai memberikan  kinerja yang lebih baik bila ditempatkan di sekitar gelombang pecah.Kata kunci : pemecah gelombang terputus bawah air’, profil dasar pantai, gelombang pecah</text>

Razali, M.Si .ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui: (1) Peningkatan hasil  belajar siswa pada konsep perusakan dan pencemaran lingkungan yang dibelajarkan dengan model problem based instruction  (PBI)  dan peningkatan hasil belajar siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan pembelajaran konvensional; (2) Peningkatankemampuan kerja ilmiah siswa pada konsep perusakan dan pencemaran lingkunganyang dibelajarkan dengan model PBI yang dibandingkan dengan pembelajaran konvensional, Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMA Negeri 4 Bireuen dengan menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas X semester ganjil pada Tahun Pelajaran2012/2013 yang berjumlah 4 kelas paralel. Sampel diambil sebanyak 2 kelasyang ditentukan secara acak yang terdiri dari kelas eksperimen atau PBI dan kelas kontrol atau konvensional. Analisis data dilakukan dengan uji t dengan menggunakan program SPSS 16.0  for windows. Hasil penenelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar siswa yang signifikan (?&gt;0,05) antara siswa yang dibelajarakan dengan model PBI dengan pembelajaran konvensional, (2) terdapat perbedaan skor kemampuan kerja ilmiah siswa yang signifikan (?&gt;0,05) antara siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan model PBI dengan pembelajarankonvensional, Dapat disimpulkan bahwa : (1) hasil belajar siswa pada konsep perusakan dan pencemaran lingkungan dengan model PBI lebih tinggi dibandingkan  dengan hasil yang dibelajarkan dengan pembelajaran konvensional, (2)Skor kemampuan kerja ilmiah siswa dengan model PBI lebih tinggi dibandingkan  dengan skor pembelajaran konvensional.                 <text>Abstract: According to Balai Pengkajian Teknologi Pertanian Aceh (BPTP Aceh), peatland area in Aceh province has reached 144,000 ha spread in Aceh Jaya, Aceh Barat, Nagan Raya, Aceh Selatan and Aceh Singkil. In the category of the very soft soil, peat soils have very low bearing capacity. One of the actions needed to improve the properties of peat soils are stabilization. In this study, high ash peat soil obtained from Desa Lambalek, Aceh Jaya and lime stabilized with mixed variation of 4%, 8% and 12%. Tests were carried out referring to the ASTM method, consists of physical properties including moisture content, specific gravity, sieve analysis, ash and organic content, and testing of mechanical properties include compaction, CBR (California Bearing Ratio) and Swelling. The results showed the addition of lime 4% and 8%, resulting in a reduction CBR value of peat soil, but on a mixture of 12%, the CBR value increased to 176.51% for CBR Soaked and 139.70% for CBR Unsoaked and reduced 24.93% swelling value from initials conditions. Thus the effective peat soil stabilization at levels of 12% lime mixture.Keywords : peat soil, stabilization, lime, CBR, swellingAbstrak: Menurut data Balai Pengkajian Teknologi Pertanian Aceh (BPTP Aceh), luas lahan gambut di Provinsi Aceh saat ini mencapai 144.000 ha yang tersebar di Aceh Jaya, Aceh Barat, Nagan Raya, Aceh Selatan dan Aceh Singkil. Dalam kategori sebagai tanah sangat lunak (very soft soils), tanah gambut memiliki daya dukung yang sangat rendah. Salah satu tindakan yang diperlukan untuk memperbaiki sifat-sifat tanah gambut yang kurang menguntungkan adalah stabilisasi. Dalam penelitian ini, tanah gambut abu tinggi diperoleh dari Desa Lambalek, Aceh Jaya dan distabilisasi kapur dengan variasi campuran 4%, 8% dan 12%. Pengujian yang dilakukan mengacu kepada metode ASTM, terdiri dari pengujian sifat-sifat fisis yang meliputi kadar air, berat spesifik, analisis saringan, kadar abu dan kadar organik, dan pengujian sifat-sifat mekanis meliputi Pemadatan, CBR (California Bearing Ratio) dan Pengembangan (Swelling). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan penambahan kapur 4% dan 8% mengakibatkan pengurangan nilai CBR tanah gambut, tetapi pada campuran 12%, nilai CBR meningkat 176,51% untuk CBR Soaked dan 139,70% untuk CBR Unsoaked dan nilai pengembangan berkurang 24,93% dari kondisi awalnya. Dengan demikian stabilisasi tanah gambut efektif pada kadar campuran kapur 12%.Kata kunci : tanah gambut, stabilisasi, kapur, CBR, pengembangan.</text>

                <text>Abstract: This study aims to evaluate soil liquefaction potential in site when an earthquake shaking. Loss of strength may take place in sandy soils due to an increase in pore pressure. This phenomenon, termed liquefaction, can accur in loose and saturated sands. The increase in pore pressure causes a reduction in the shear strength, which may even  be lost completely. Four soil profiles at the location of Laguna Bridge were selected for investigation. The eartquake data which have radius of 300 km from the bridge location were collected from Klimatology and Geofisics Station in Banda Aceh. The liquefaction potential was evaluated by using six methods. Results showed that by using Kishida method (1969) at bore log point 1,2,3, are generally no liquefaction accured, whereas at bor log point 4 are generally liquefaction accured. Seed and Idriss method (1971) showed no liquefaction, whereas Valera and Donovan (1977) showed liquefaction accured. Seed et. all (1976) showed liquefaction only accured at eartquake magnitude of 8.9 Richter scale, whereas the methods of Whitman (1971) and Castro (1975) are generally no liquefaction accured.Keywords : liquefaction, earthquake, saturated sand, cyclic.Abstrak: Studi potensi likuifaksi bertujuan untuk menganalisis terjadi tidaknya likuifaksi apabila terjadi gempa bumi. Pada suatu lapisan tanah pasir yang jenuh air, getaran-getaran gempa bumi menyebabkan terjadi suatu gejala likuifaksi yang merupakan gejala keruntuhan struktural tanah akibat menerima beban cyclic (berulang). Beban cyclic ini menimbulkan perubahan-perubahan di dalam deposit tanah, berupa peningkatan tekanan air pori sehingga kekuatan geser tanah menjadi berkurang atau hilang (loss strength). Tanah pasir yang kehilangan seluruh kekuatan gesernya akan mencair dan berprilaku seperti fluida. Studi ini dilakukan pada lokasi jembatan Laguna. Struktur lapisan tanah pada lokasi ini berpasir. Berdasarkan data sekunder diperoleh 4 titik bor. Data gempa dalam radius epicenter (R) maksimum 300 kilometer, dan magnitude 5,75 skala Richter dari Banda Aceh diperoleh dari Badan Meteorologi Klimatologi dan Geofisika Stasiun Geofisika Mata ie Banda Aceh (2010), kemudian percepatan gempa rata-rata di permukaan tanah dianalisis dengan menggunakan persamaan percepatan gempa Donovan (1972), Newmark (1968), dan Kawashumi. Potensi likuifaksi dianalisis menggunakan metoda Kishida (1969), Seed &amp;amp; Idriss (1971), Valera &amp;amp; Donovan (1977), Seed et al (1976), Whitman (1971), dan Castro (1975) dengan profil bor log, N-SPT dan magnitude gempa. Hasil studi ini menunjukkan bahwa dengan menggunakan metoda Kishida (1969) pada titik bor 1, titik bor 2 dan titik bor 3 secara umum tidak likuifaksi, sedangkan titik bor 4 secara umum likuifaksi. Metoda Seed &amp;amp; Idriss (1971) memberikan hasil tidak likuifaksi. Metoda Valera &amp;amp; Donovan (1977) secara umum likuifaksi. Metoda Seed et al (1976) memberikan hasil likuifaksi terjadi hanya pada magnitude gempa 8,9 skala Richter di semua titik bor. Sedangkan Metoda Whitman (1971) dan Castro (1975) secara umum tidak likuifaksi.Kata kunci : likuifaksi, gempa bumi, jenuh air, cyclic.</text>
