Etanol mutu teknis (technical grade) digunakan sebagai pelarut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ukuran partikel dan suhu ekstraksi berpengaruh terhadap rendemen dan mutu oleoresin yang dihasilkan. Rendemen tertinggi sebesar 7,16% diperoleh pada  ukuran partikel 10 mesh dan suhu 60oC. Hasil analisis bobot jenis oleoresin menunjukkan bahwa bobot jenis tertinggi yaitu 1,250 dihasilkan pada suhu ekstraksi 50oC. Sementara itu, hasil analisis indeks bias oleoresin menunjukkan bahwa ukuran partikel dan suhu ekstraksi memberikan pengaruh yang sangat nyata terhadap oleoresin pala dimana ukuran partikel 40 mesh pada suhu ekstraksi 40oC dan 60oC  serta ukuran partikel 60 mesh pada suhu 50oC memiliki nilai indeks bias yang lebih tinggi yaitu berkisar antara 1,476 hingga 1,480. Hasil analisis sisa pelarut juga menunjukkan bahwa ukuran partikel dan suhu ekstraksi berpengaruh terhadap tingginya sisa pelarut, dimana ukuran partikel 10 mesh mengandung sisa pelarut 0,229% dan suhu ekstraksi 40oC mengandung sisa pelarut 0,265%. The production of cocoa continues to increase significantly every year. Cocoa Pod husk is a waste product of cocoa beans industry, which is containing pectin with concentration ranged between 2-10%. Pectin extraction is one of the potential researches to increase economic value of cocoa pod husks. This study aimed to determine the effect of extraction time and pH on the characteristics of cocoa pod husk pectin. Pectin was extracted from cocoa pod husks using ammonium oxalate, extraction time (60 and 120 min) and pH (2.6, 3.6 and 4.6). The use of ammonium oxalate produced high yield of pectin ranged from 6.63 to 12.75%, moisture content was 7,36 to 10,77%, methoxyl content was 5.19 to 5.70%, anhydrogalacturonic acid of 59.84 to 63.14%, the esterification degree was 48.43 to 51.43 % and relative viscosity was 40 – 186,6 cP. The extraction time for 60 minutes at pH 3,6 showed a higher yield compared to 120 min at pH 4,6. Ubi jalar ungu memiliki kandungan zat antioksidan yaitu antosianin yang cukup tinggi sehingga dapat digunakan sebagai pewarna alami yang aman, murah dan mudah didapat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan metode ekstraksi antosianin terbaik (maserasi, soxhletasi dan ekstraksi cairan bertekanan) dari ubi jalar ungu menggunakan tiga jenis bahan (kulit, umbi, umbi dan kulit) dari segi kadar antosianin dan aktivitas antioksidannya.Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) pola faktorial yang terdiri atas 2 (dua) faktor. Faktor pertama adalah jenis bahan baku (J) yang terdiri atas 3 taraf yaitu J1 = kulit, J2 = umbi dan J3 = umbi dan kulit. Faktor kedua adalah metode ekstraksi (M) yang terdiri atas 3 taraf yaitu M1 = maserasi, M2 = soxhletasi dan M3 = ekstraksi cairan bertekanan. Setiap perlakuan diulang sebanyak 2 kali sehingga diperoleh 18 satuan percobaan. Analisis yang dilakukan adalah rendemen, total antosianin dan aktivitas antioksidan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa metode ekstraksi (M) berpengaruh nyata (P ? 0,05) terhadap rendemen dan total antosianin. Metode ekstraksi cairan bertekanan menghasilkan rendemen tertinggi sebanyak 50,45%, dan metode soxhletasi menghasilkan total antosianin tertinggi yaitu 156,05 mg/L. Jenis bahan (J) berpengaruh sangat nyata (P ? 0,01) terhadap total antosianin ekstrak ubi jalar ungu yang dihasilkan. Jenis bahan kulit menghasilkan total antosianin tertinggi sebanyak 91,02 mg/L dibandingkan dengan umbi 55,85 mg/L dan umbi dan kulit 47,78 mg/L. Interaksi antara jenis bahan dan metode ekstraksi (JM) berpengaruh sangat nyata (P ? 0,01) terhadap total antosianin yang dihasilkan. This study aims to extract natural dyes from bark of  Jamblang as the base material of textile dyes. The research was conducted in the laboratory of Chemistry FKIP Syiah Kuala University. The population in this study is Jamblang bark (Syzygium cumini) in Ujung Batee, Aceh Besar as much as 3 kg. A total of 500 gram sample of wet bark of jamblang sokhletasi extracted with 2500 ml of water. Water extract was concentrated by evaporator and the viscous extract obtained as many as 77.984 grams. Confirmation test results of water condensed tannins in the bark extract showed a positive presence jamblang hydrolyzed tannins. Viscous extract obtained water test conducted on fabric dyeing, paper, and wood. Dyeing process is done by soaking for 1 hour at a temperature of 100oC and followed by a fixation on the fabric color by using FeSO4, alum, and potassium bichromate for 15 minutes. Dyeing with bark extract of Jamblang give good results on fabric and paper, whereas the only stain on the wood surface is uneven. The results of dyeing the cloth with a fixation process to vary the color and fastness is good. Ionic conductivity of polymer electrolyte was tested using impedance spectroscopy. The result of the research was showed that a mixture of PVCBentonite( 10% wt/wt)-LiClO4 gives the highest ionic conductivity (4,86 x 10-3 S.Cm-1).
